Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!
Chapter 553 Resurrecting the Alchemy Master
Inside the church laboratory, Lynn walked to the sealing rack in the corner, took down the body of the first novice alchemist from the rack, and placed it flat on the experimental table.
This alchemy master is a newcomer, and also the youngest and weakest among them.
The man looked to be around thirty years old. His eyes were closed, and most of his robe had been removed, revealing the skin of his chest, abdomen, and arms.
The muscles were loose, showing no signs of struggle, like a machine that had just stopped running.
This person's body remained active under the sealing magic; otherwise, it could only be used to create undead.
Lynn stood in front of the lab table and took out a black rune pen from his ring.
The nib is very fine, allowing it to draw clear lines.
He gripped the pen, bent down, and began to draw the first rune on the alchemist's chest.
When the pen tip touched the skin, it left no bloodstains, only a fine, dark gray line.
The lines extend along the collarbone, fork in the center of the chest, and then curve outwards to both sides, forming two symmetrical arcs.
Lynn's movements were not fast, but each stroke was fluid and continuous, and the whole set was smooth and effortless.
After completing the arc, he added several short horizontal lines below it and embedded several nodes between the lines.
Those nodes consist of three to four tiny runes arranged in a fixed shape, like latches locking together at the key intersections of the entire pattern.
The area covered by the runes continued to expand, from the chest to the abdomen, from the abdomen to the ribs on both sides, and then along the gaps between the ribs to the back.
The distance between each line is kept evenly spaced.
The lines on the back are symmetrically distributed along both sides of the spine, extending from below the shoulder blades to the waist, where they converge into a horizontal arc that closes with the lines on the chest.
The entire restraint structure resembles a net tightly attached to the skin, conforming to the body's contours along the direction of muscle fibers.
Countless black runes were imprinted on his body, covering his entire body, even his face and head.
At first glance, it's a bit creepy, but once you get used to it, it has a strange kind of beauty.
Lynn put down his pen and took out the container that contained the person's soul.
The container is transparent, and you can see a dark, slowly rotating mass of light inside. It is very dark in color, like a dark liquid that has been settling for a long time.
He opened the seal, probed the container with his mental energy, and drew out the ball of light.
After leaving the container, the soul began to slowly diffuse, its edges blurred, its internal structure still unclear, like a lump of gel that had not yet solidified.
Lynn's mental energy, like several thin threads, wrapped around every corner of the soul, suspending it above the experimental table, stabilizing its position, and preventing it from spreading further.
Instead of immediately transferring his soul into his body, he picked up the rune pen again and began to touch the tip of the pen to the surface of his soul.
When the pen tip touched the soul, it left no physical trace, only a very fine gray line that spread along the surface of the soul.
Those lines extend along the contours of the soul, layer upon layer.
The gray lines on the surface of the soul begin to slowly move and adjust their position along the flow of the soul's energy.
Like a self-calibrating membrane, it adheres to every undulation of the soul's surface, its edges gradually tightening.
The gray lines on the surface of the soul began to stabilize and stopped moving.
The final layer of restrictions is also integrated with the first two layers.
Lynn put down his pen and withdrew his mental energy from his soul.
The soul has stabilized and is no longer as blurry as before. Its internal structure has begun to emerge, and some fine points of light can be seen flowing inside.
Lynn pressed his soul back into his body.
The soul passes through the skin without leaving any obvious trace. It conforms to the contours of the body's surface, extends along the gaps between bones and muscles, and reunites with the flesh.
At the same moment, the dark gray patterns on the surface of the body also lit up, as if they were activated from within.
The light flowed quickly around the lines of the skin, then dimmed, leaving only the dark gray lines clinging to the skin's surface.
The alchemist opened his eyes, his gaze lingering on the rooftop for a few moments, looking somewhat bewildered.
After a while, he turned his head and looked at the person not far away opposite him.
Lynn stood on the other side of the control panel, refilling the material with the rune pen.
The alchemist looked wary and did not act immediately, but first confirmed his location.
He lay on a stone platform, surrounded by gray-white walls.
Then he tried to sense the power within his body and raised his hand to test it.
No light appeared in his palm, no energy responded to his call, and even the rules of the world seemed utterly unfamiliar.
He sat up, looked down to examine the dark gray markings on his chest, his gaze lingering on them for a moment before he looked up at Lynn:
"Sir, what have you done to me?"
Lynn put away the rune pen, looked up at him, and said, "I resurrected you. From now on, you will serve me wholeheartedly."
Upon hearing this, the alchemy master was somewhat dumbfounded.
Memories of the moment of death then flooded back.
It turns out... he was killed by these "extraterrestrial demons".
After understanding the situation, the alchemist remained silent for a moment, then asked again, "Then my power..."
Lynn did not answer, but merely moved his mind and triggered the restriction.
The alchemist felt the sealed alchemical power within his body resume its flow, and his communication with the world was re-established, as if a blocked pipe had been cleared.
A light shone from his palm, a silvery-white glow that flashed briefly.
He sensed the response from the world's rules; the channels were reopened, and power was flowing back.
His face lit up with joy, and just as he was about to gather more power, the alchemical power that was recovering disappeared again, as if it had been cut off from the inside by something.
He looked down at his hands; the light in his palms had completely disappeared, leaving no trace.
He looked up at Lynn, and this time he didn't ask any more questions, he just looked at Lynn.
Clearly, the disappearance of his power was related to the person in front of him.
Lynn did not answer, but raised her right hand and waved it slightly towards the door.
That swing carried an invisible force, pushing him and the entire stone platform toward the doorway, smoothly passing through the door frame and landing on the open ground outside.
In the end, only one sentence reached his ears.
"Get to know this new world well. I hope you'll be sensible, otherwise..."
The alchemist stumbled slightly upon landing, but quickly regained his balance, his gaze never leaving the direction of the church entrance.
Lynn did not appear at the door, nor did he hear any footsteps following her.
He stood there for a while, then walked towards the ruins of the Alchemy City, looking down at the patterns on his chest as he went.
These patterns are clearly a kind of restriction, capable of sealing one's power according to that person's will.
I'll go back to the main city of alchemy first and see if I can find someone to remove this restriction.
