Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!

Chapter 604 The Method to Change Fate

After Lynn finished explaining, Cersei had completely mastered the method to break the formation.

However, this method requires a high level of skill, and it is difficult for an ordinary Stigmata Wizard to break through it alone. It would be much better if there were three or more people involved.

However, with this method, one won't be completely clueless when facing a formation.

Sersi looked at Lynn and said, "This method of breaking the formation is very important for the academy to deal with the Chaos Egg. We can't let you sacrifice it for nothing."

"In that case, I can decide to give you the appropriate reward."

She glanced at him: "Is there anything you need?"

There's another reward? Lynn immediately perked up.

He thought for a while.

What do you need? Magic stones? Materials?

These things are not very meaningful to him. His cultivation does not require many resources. He can become stronger as long as he keeps absorbing the world.

He had originally intended to enjoy the two worlds together, but the moment he opened his mouth, he suddenly remembered that he was going to the Underworld to capture Lin Chen.

He originally thought that capturing Lin Chen was a piece of cake, but the talk about fate at the observatory last time made him a little uneasy.

The struggle between the two factions over "fate" is not so simple.

The "Star Seer" once said that he was merely the custodian of the "Heart of the Starry Sky Beast," and that Lin Chen was the true owner of the heart.

This clearly implies that Lin Chen will retrieve his heart and replace Lin En at the pinnacle of power.

And what about Lynn? She's most likely just a "stepping stone," someone Lin Chen will easily deal with later.

This won't do; we must come up with a foolproof plan!

We must break the spell of "fate"!

Otherwise, if this attempt to capture Lin Chen fails again, given Lin Chen's rapid growth through devouring, it will be even more difficult to capture him in the future.

Thinking of this, Lynn changed his mind.

"I want a magical artifact related to fate, preferably one that can change destiny."

Cersei glared at him: "Change your fate? You really dare to dream of that."

"You only contributed a method to break the formation, you didn't do anything great, yet you still dare to try to interfere with destiny."

"A magical artifact that can change one's destiny must at least be at the level of a true spirit, and you are still far from that level."

Upon hearing this, Lynn asked with a hint of regret, "Is there any other way to change my fate?"

Cersei was silent for a moment, then said with a blank look in her eyes:

"Fate is elusive and controlled by the River of Fate. Ordinary methods are rarely effective. Only beings at the True Spirit level can influence fate, or—"

She paused for a moment: "Go into the river of fate, find the corresponding fate line, and modify it directly."

After listening, Lynn was silent for a moment, then nodded: "I understand. Then I won't ask for the Destiny Artifact as a reward, how about two worlds?"

Cersei leaned back in her chair and gave him a sideways glance:

"I heard you're acquiring mid-sized worlds. I can give you ownership of one of them; you can use it however you like."

Lynn's lips twitched slightly: "Isn't a medium-sized world a bit too small? How about we change it to a large world?"

Cersei rolled her eyes at him: "It's just a medium-sized world, take it or leave it."

Lynn stopped insisting: "Fine, medium-sized it is. Something is better than nothing."

Cersei hummed in agreement: "I'll send you the coordinates later."

Lynn stood up: "Then I'll be going now, thank you, Master's wife."

As he reached the door, Cersei's voice came from behind him: "How much of an impact did that ring of Malpha have on you? Was your soul damaged?"

Her voice carried a subtle concern that was clearly heard in the quiet office.

Lynn turned around, his expression relaxing: "Don't worry, Master's wife, Marfa is a long way from being able to hurt me."

Cersei stared at him for a few moments and realized that this kid was a deep and cunning individual; the image in that "recording stone" might not even be real.

Then she waved her hand, as if shooing away a fly: "Go away, go away, just looking at you annoys me."

Lynn chuckled, pushed open the door, and went out.

...

After leaving the office, Lynn did not go straight back to the laboratory, but instead prepared to inherit one of Malfa's assets.

He walked down the corridor, through several doors, turned into the residential area, and stopped in front of the innermost room on the third floor.

Lynn took a key from Marfa's ring, inserted it into the lock, and channeled his mental energy into it. The door opened silently.

The key belonged to Malfa. After her death, the barrier lost its owner and was only kept running by the remaining energy. Lynn easily broke it.

The room wasn't large, and against the wall stood a rather exquisite soul furnace, considerably more powerful than Morpheus's.

Dark purple flames surged within the furnace, with a dark, distinctive soul outline suspended in the center, standing out significantly from the other souls.

It is a demon soul of the Saint Mark level!

The volume of that soul was larger than that of an ordinary Saint-level soul, and it maintained its fixed shape even under the high temperature of the furnace.

Next to the furnace were several boxes of materials, mainly soul-related materials, as well as some sealed potion bottles with labels on them.

The edge of the demonic soul rippled slightly as it approached, as if sensing the movement of the outside world.

This demon soul is an Abyss Nightmare, and it's even a mid-tier Saint Mark, making it a top-quality material.

The Soul Purification Ring of Malpha was made from the essence of its saliva.

This Abyss Nightmare was discovered by her butler in the Rotten Abyss; it was already on the verge of death.

The deacon dared not handle the matter alone, so he contacted Marfa and asked her to subdue him personally.

She took a liking to Nightmare's powerful soul and spiritual energy, extracted its soul, and placed it in the furnace to nurture it continuously, hoping it could transform into a high-level Saint Mark.

Lynn stood in front of the furnace, confirmed the state of the soul, and then put it, along with the entire furnace and the surrounding materials, into his ring.

After leaving that room, Lynn went to several other hiding places that Marfa remembered.

There are three similar storage rooms in the residential area, each with its own independent restrictions. Fortunately, Marfa is quite suspicious, and only Marfa himself knows how to open them.

Otherwise, after news of Marfa's death spread, these resources would probably have been divided up by the deacons and apprentices long ago.

Those restrictions lost their active maintenance after her death, but the remaining energy still maintained the basic sealing structure.

Lynn spent some time deciphering the puzzles one by one, collecting all the materials and souls inside.

The rooms contained more and more varied items than he had anticipated, but none of them contained "high-end" items like the Nightmare Soul.

He put all those items into his ring, took inventory of them, and roughly estimated that the value of this legacy was over a million magic stones, plus a massive amount of soul reserves.

This is only part of the legacy; there are still many resources waiting for him in Marfa's laboratory.

However, after news of Marfa's death reached her, her laboratory was temporarily taken over by the Academy, and she couldn't take action without the Academy's permission.

Well, I'm sure the academy wouldn't risk offending me, their "future pillar," over something like this.

Lynn sorted and put the items away, making sure nothing was missing, then turned and left the residential area, walking back to the laboratory along the corridor.
