Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!
Chapter 624 Negras's Interest
[Undead Overlord] Negras is tall and wears a gray-black robe. His face is cold and his eyes are sunken, making him look like a still-moving corpse.
However, his aura was as deep as the ocean, and the entire palace was immersed in his spiritual field.
After all, he is one of the three vice deans of the Bone Spire Academy, in charge of external wars, and the actual controller of the Bone Spire Academy's military power, which is not something that ordinary wizards can compare to.
"Mentor, you wanted to see me?" Victor stepped forward and bowed.
Negras didn't turn around, his voice low:
"You just heard from the academy that Lynn is taking over as the head of the Soul Department, right?"
"I just found out." Victor stood a step behind him.
"Tell me about him. I'm very curious how an unknown kid suddenly became the top student in the Soul Department."
Negras asked with considerable interest.
Negras has been at the peak of the Saint Mark for many years, and has been stationed on the Abyss Battlefield ever since, not returning for many years.
He was extremely surprised when he received news that Lynn had been promoted to chief of the Soul Department.
It should be noted that the Soul Department is a major faction within the academy, forming one of the three major factions of the Bone Spire, along with the Undead and Flesh Departments.
The current leader of the Undead faction is Victor, while the leader of the Flesh faction is Grasha, the "Master of Stitching," who once competed with Victor for the Titan remains.
Marfa was originally the weakest of the three, but among the mentors, she was one of the best, after all, she was a genuine mid-level Saint Mark.
But now it has been replaced by a little-known new stigmata, which has piqued Negras's interest.
Victor hadn't expected his mentor to call him over for this matter, so he thought for a moment and started explaining from the beginning.
"Lynn was one of the apprentices illegally recruited by the academy more than a decade ago. He came from a small place and had top-notch soul talent when he first entered the academy. He was once fought over by students and Marfa."
"It's a pity that the kid is also clever; he didn't choose the two of us, but instead chose that old madman Gregor."
"He had a high level of spiritual talent and his mental strength grew extremely quickly. Later, he was targeted by Morpheus and Malfa, and almost lost his life because of it."
"But according to the academy, he benefited from this misfortune, successfully survived Gregor's Death Blossom Project, broke through to become a full-fledged wizard, and even broke through the limits of his mental power."
"Later, he killed Morpheus, the soul master, and his cultivation advanced rapidly, embarking on a path that no one had ever walked before."
"Oh? What road?" Negras asked.
Victor kept everyone in suspense.
"Does the mentor still remember that old madman Gregor? His talent is not low, but he has been hovering around the third ring for so many years, all because of that unrealistic dream."
Negras seemed to understand something, yet also found it somewhat unbelievable.
"Looks like that kid has followed in his mentor's footsteps and embarked on that path of no return? Judging from his achievements now, has he succeeded?"
Victor nodded, confirming Negras's idea. "That's right, this kid really did master the rules of all things and used them to achieve the Saintly Mark!"
"I really don't know how this kid could comprehend so many rules in such a short time; he's simply a prodigy!"
"The rules of all things have given him unparalleled combat power. His physical body, soul and mental strength are far superior to those of others of the same level. He fought against five veteran Saint Marksmen all by himself as soon as he was promoted to Saint Mark."
Negras didn't interrupt, just listened quietly, but his heart was far from calm.
A newly promoted Stigmata fighting against five established Stigmata alone? That's outrageous! No one in the entire history of the Bone Spire has ever been so outrageous.
Even so, he shouldn't take over the position of head of the Soul Department at Marfa, given Marfa's long-standing influence within the academy, unless...
Thinking of the grudges that Lynn and Malfa had formed when they were apprentices, Negras suddenly realized.
Unless Marfa falls!
"As for Malfa... she sensed the threat posed by Lynn and found the Chaos Egg to try and kill him," Victor said.
"The Chaos Egg and Marfa joined forces, a total of twenty-three Saint-level combatants, thinking they could capture him. But he single-handedly took care of the entire enemy team, and only Wutian escaped with some members of the Chaos Egg."
"After Lynn returned to the academy, he produced the recording stone to prove his innocence, which is why the academy arranged for him to take over the position of chief of the Soul Department."
"A photo stone?" Negras asked.
"Yes, that kid is clever. He recorded all the footage of Marfa colluding with the Chaos Egg and besieging him. The academy has also found out."
Victor added another sentence after saying this.
"His fighting style is very special. His Myriad Manifestations Domain is extremely powerful. Once you are pulled into the domain, it is difficult to escape. It is very difficult to break him when you are of the same level."
After listening, Negras remained silent for a while, then suddenly said, "If you had accepted him back then, perhaps we would have had the scene of all three of our undead holy marks gathered together on this Abyss Battlefield."
Victor grinned and looked at the Titan golem that was faintly visible in the distance: "That's true. If he really had become my apprentice, he might be slaughtering everyone in front of him right now."
Negras understood the implication in his words and shook his head: "It's a good thing that kid was smart and didn't join your school, otherwise the academy would have lost another promising talent."
Victor paused for a moment, then burst out laughing: "Master, that's too mean. You can train good apprentices, so I, Victor, can't be that bad at training apprentices either, can I?"
"How many of the apprentices you've trained have survived?" Negras asked.
Victor fell silent.
"Your apprentices either got stuffed into the core of the skeletal golem or died in your war experiments."
"If Lynn had fallen into your hands, he would probably be Titan's secondary brain by now."
Victor opened his mouth as if to refute, but then realized that it was indeed the case.
He looked at the Titan statue in the distance and suddenly felt a little guilty.
The golem's head control core did indeed use the souls of three direct apprentices as auxiliary nodes.
"That's not my fault," Victor shook his head. "They said themselves they were willing to dedicate themselves to the Road to the Dead."
Negras glanced at him indifferently and did not continue the topic.
They were just apprentices, not even cannon fodder on this abyss battlefield, and not worth mentioning at all.
"Since Lynn's combat strength is so terrifying, he will definitely be on this Abyss Battlefield in the future, and then the pressure on us will be relieved a bit."
"And..." Negraston paused.
"Your Titan, tomorrow don't just defend the front. Have it coordinate with the flanks to block that demonic passage to the north."
"The demons' offensive is growing stronger, so we must firmly grasp the terrain to increase our chances of victory."
"Understood." Victor nodded.
He bowed and turned to leave the palace.
When they returned to the high ground, the Titan Golem stood quietly at the forefront of the position in the distance, like a mountain carved from white bones.
Victor looked at it and suddenly remembered Negras's words, "How many survived?"
He shook his head and muttered to himself, "It's a good thing Lynn didn't come with me, otherwise the academy would have lost a legendary figure."
