Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!
Chapter 650 A Deadly Run
Inside the dungeon, Lynn took a step back and raised his right hand.
Several grayish-white soul threads shot out from his fingertips and slowly wrapped around his short, stocky body.
The silk thread wound tighter and tighter, like a thin snake burrowing into the short, stocky skin.
"ah--!"
The short, stocky man suddenly screamed, his voice so shrill it could split the stone wall, startling the tall, thin man beside him.
The soul threads, like red-hot iron wires, pulled back and forth within the short, stout soul.
With each pull, the soul cracks open and is forcibly pulled back to its original position.
Lynn didn't use excessive force; at least he didn't kill him immediately.
He simply tightened the threads of his soul, keeping the short, stocky man conscious even in extreme pain.
Crying, begging for mercy, loss of control of bladder—one thing after another.
The tall, thin man standing nearby was terrified.
He couldn't even shout; his eyes were wide open, and his lips trembled so much he couldn't close them.
"I'll talk! I'll talk too! I'll tell you everything!" the tall, thin man cried out.
Lynn ignored him.
He controlled the threads of his soul, torturing the short, stocky man until he was completely broken, his soul being torn apart and stitched back together, stitched back together and torn apart again.
The short, stocky voice went from screaming to wailing, and then from wailing to intermittent gasps.
Finally, Lynn gently clenched his fist.
The short, stocky soul cracked open with a "crack," like a broken pottery jar.
The fragments did not scatter, but were gradually twisted into ashes by the threads of soul. Before the ashes even fell, they dissipated into the air.
The short, stocky body remained completely still.
The iron chain swayed a few times, like it was hanging an empty cloth bag.
Lynn turned to look at the tall, thin man.
"No, no..." The tall, thin man had already wet his pants and was curled up in a ball.
Lynn also reached out and searched the soul, confirming that there was no further information.
Then he did the same thing, turning the tall, thin man to ashes as well.
"Since you dared to touch my daughter, you should have thought this day would come. You'd better watch your step in your next life."
"Oh, your souls have been completely burned away; there is no next life for you..."
Lynn muttered something under his breath, then turned and walked out of the dungeon.
The guards at the gate dared not breathe when they saw him come out.
He had heard everything that had happened in the dungeon just now; the screams were far more horrific than any other form of torture.
Lynn glanced at him and said:
"Go tell Iron Fang to take men to the city lord's mansion after dawn and bring all those adventurers who caused trouble at the apothecary today to the dungeon, without missing a single one."
"Yes!" The guard hurriedly ran out.
...
As dawn broke, Tieya led five family guards out the door.
They walked through the streets still damp with night dew, all the way to the entrance of the city lord's mansion.
The guards at the gate straightened their backs slightly and tightened their grip on their weapons as they saw the approaching figures from afar.
After seeing the Grey Feather Clan crest on the Iron Fang armor, the two guards exchanged a glance, and one of them quickly went to greet them.
"Gentlemen, what brings you to the City Lord's Mansion so early?" the guard asked cautiously.
"Grey Feather Clan, Iron Fang." Iron Fang announced his name, "I've come to see the city lord and bring a few prisoners."
"Please wait a moment, sir, I'll go in and inform them right away." The guard responded and turned to run off.
The city lord was still asleep, and the steward's expression changed several times after hearing the guard's words.
He sent someone to summon the city lord while he jogged to the door, lifting the hem of his robe.
"Lord Iron Fang, what brings you here today?" The butler said with a fawning smile, bowing as low as a shrimp.
Iron Fang nodded: "Excuse me. Is this convenient for you, City Lord?"
"Convenience is key, please come in!" The butler quickly led them to the reception room, then turned back to call to the maid, "Quickly, bring tea! The best tea!"
Just as the tea was served, the city lord, wearing an outer robe, rushed over from the back room.
His hair was unkempt, his boots were on backwards, and his face was deathly pale.
"Lord Iron Fang, what are Lord Lynn's orders?" The city lord's voice was somewhat weak.
He didn't sleep well last night, fearing that the Gray Feather family would come to question him.
Those damned adventurers caused trouble in his city and almost injured the little princess of the Gray Feather family. As the city lord, he couldn't escape responsibility.
Tieya clasped his hands in a fist and said, "Lord of the city, you are overthinking it. I am here on the orders of the clan chief to bring back the group of adventurers who caused trouble yesterday."
The city lord was taken aback at first, then realized: "Just mentioning prisoners?"
"It's just about mentioning the prisoners." Iron Fang nodded.
The city lord let out a long breath, and his entire body visibly went limp.
He wiped the sweat from his brow, sat back in his chair, and loudly ordered outside:
"Men! Go to the dungeon and bring out all those people we arrested yesterday! Also, send two squads of city guards to escort them for the Gray Feather family!"
"Yes!" The guard outside the door took the order and ran off.
Not long after, two squads of city guards escorted the dozen or so adventurers out of the city lord's dungeon.
Those people, all wearing magic-suppressing shackles, were pale and disheveled after a night of imprisonment, looking like a group of rats that had been soaked in water.
Without wasting words, Tieya led the way with five guards, while two other squads of city guards pushed and shoved the prisoners along.
"Where are they taking us?" a young adventurer whispered to the person next to him.
"I don't know," the shorter man next to him shook his head. "Could it be that they let us go?"
"Bullshit." Another adventurer with a wounded face spat.
"Look at those people up ahead. Their armor is covered in the Grey Feather Clan crest. They just wrecked someone's shop yesterday, and now the Grey Feather Clan is here. Do you think they're letting us go?"
"We don't need to be afraid," the young adventurer stubbornly insisted.
"The Gray Feather Clan is powerful, but they can't just kill people indiscriminately. Besides... besides, our boss has powerful backers!"
"Are you stupid?" the adventurer glared at him.
"Have you forgotten what happened to that little girl yesterday? She's not even going to listen to reason with you now. Just wait, once she enters the Gray Feather Clan, she'll be lucky to escape with her life."
The young adventurer turned pale and fell silent.
The burly man who was leading the group, the one they called "the boss," remained silent.
He squinted, staring in the direction of Iron Fang, then glanced at the few Gray Feather family guards.
My gaze fell on the tribal emblem on their chests, and my heart felt as heavy as lead.
"This isn't the right way," the big man suddenly said in a low voice.
"Boss, what's wrong?" The short guy next to him came over.
"They're not taking us to the city gate," the burly man said through gritted teeth. "This is heading east; the Grayfeather Clan's territory is to the east."
Upon hearing this, the adventurers' expressions changed.
"Are they really going to take us back to the Grayfeather Clan?" the young adventurer asked in a shrill voice.
"Don't shout," the burly man hissed.
His mind works incredibly fast.
He originally thought that his troublemaking wouldn't be a big deal to the Gray Feather family, since he had only vandalized the shop and caused some losses; at worst, he would just have to pay compensation and be locked up for a few days.
His attack on the city guards was clearly a greater crime, and in principle, the city's sheriff should have handled the interrogation and the city lord should have made the final decision.
But something's definitely not right about today's situation.
If it were just a matter of paying compensation and offering an apology, the Gray Feather Clan wouldn't have come to take the person away in person. The fact that they've gone to such lengths means...
The other party is going to settle accounts!
Could it be that my dealings with the Black Fang family have been discovered?!
