Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!
Chapter 660 The Wizards' Gathering Ends
After Lynn and his apprentice completed their transaction, Horn, seeing that no one else was going up on stage, tapped the table.
"Alright, that's all done on stage. Now it's time for free trading. This place is big enough, so you can arrange your items as you see fit."
The hall immediately became lively.
The wizards spread out cloths on the ground, laid out their belongings, and looked at each other's things.
The apprentices also set up their own stalls in the back row, some displaying materials, others displaying old books and tattered scrolls.
These are all low-value odds and ends, not worth wasting everyone's time on stage, so selling them at a stall is just right.
Lynn also found a corner, spread out an old cloth, and put the remaining odds and ends on it.
He has his own cultivation insights, some apprentice-level soul witchcraft and meditation techniques, a few pieces of low-purity witch crystal ore, some ordinary soul materials, a portion of magical beast souls, and a few small items that he doesn't usually use.
Passersby glanced at it, but most didn't stop.
"How much is this?" A thin wizard squatted down, picked up a soul crystal, and looked at it.
"Thirty magic stones," Lynn said.
The man shook his head, put down his things, and left.
After a while, a witch stopped, looked through the items, but didn't take them.
Lynn was somewhat helpless. As a formal wizard, he was stuck in his small territory in Graystone City every day, and apart from the wizard crystal mine, he really didn't have anything worth mentioning.
Fortunately, besides resources, the most important thing for wizards is knowledge.
A little while later, two young apprentices dressed in gray robes squeezed through.
Both of them looked to be in their early twenties, and the cuffs of their robes were worn white, indicating that they were not well-off.
One of the round-faced men squatted down first, examined the black stones on Lynn's stall, picked one up somewhat nervously, and asked, "Sir, what's inside this?"
"Insights into Soul Cultivation," Lynn said. "It's a breakdown from apprentice to first-level cultivator, with a focus on mental tempering and soul body stabilization."
The round-faced apprentice's eyes lit up, and he turned to look at his companion.
His tall, thin companion was also somewhat tempted, but fearing Lynn might try to take advantage of him, he didn't directly express his desire. Instead, he squatted down and reached for another black stone.
"What about this one?"
"Apprentice-level soul magic, three types," Lynn said.
"Soul Piercing, Soul Binding, and Weak Soul Vibration are all improved by me, and they save more mental energy than the general versions on the market."
The tall, thin man gripped the black stone, his knuckles white, clearly wanting it. He lowered his voice and asked his companion, "How much more do you have?"
The round-faced man pulled a cloth bag from his pocket, weighed it in his hand, and said, "A little over eighty. What about you?"
"A little over sixty."
The two of them together had over 140 magic stones, which was quite a lot for an apprentice; they had clearly saved up by being frugal.
But they also knew in their hearts that even the cheapest items from a legitimate wizard had limited value.
"Sir, how much for both of these?" the round-faced man asked.
"One hundred and twenty insights, forty for the three types of witchcraft bundled together, for a total of one hundred and sixty," Lynn said.
The two exchanged a glance, both showing troubled expressions.
The round-faced man clenched the cloth bag tightly: "Sir, we only have one hundred and forty together, what do you think..."
"Then that's enough for my experience," Lynn said.
The tall, thin man quickly replied, "Sir, we came from the south, and it's been almost half a month since we left."
"We originally relied on gathering herbs to exchange for magic stones, but we really can't gather any more. So, we'll give you all the herbs we have, and do you think we could... give us a discount?"
As they spoke, they began taking things out one by one.
These medicinal herbs were all wild-harvested by them, and their harvesting techniques were quite good; they were well preserved.
Unfortunately, they were all common herbs, and even when added together, they weren't worth many magic stones.
Lynn glanced at their old boots and patched cuffs and sighed.
Being a wandering wizard is really not easy.
Thinking he thought it wasn't enough, the round-faced man added, "How about... we buy the cultivation manuals first, and come back for the witchcraft later?"
"The gathering will break up soon, where will we find the adults then?" the tall, thin man interjected.
Both of them had a look of resentment on their faces.
Lynn leaned against the wall and said, "You two can buy the insights and witchcraft together. One black stone can be used three times, and you can resell it after you've used it up."
The two of them were stunned for a moment.
The tall, thin man was the first to realize: "That's right! We can sell it to someone else after we see it once more."
The round-faced man nodded in agreement: "There are quite a few apprentices who cultivate the soul system; someone will definitely want them if they're resold."
"Alright, you guys have it tough too, just give me whatever you have."
The two were overjoyed and readily agreed.
The round-faced man poured a pile of magic stones from his cloth bag, while the tall, thin man took out several paper packets from his pocket, each containing a few scattered magic stones.
The two of them collected the ingredients again and again, and finally handed over 154 pills and a pile of medicinal herbs.
Lynn handed over the black stone containing the insights and three types of witchcraft, then pushed the pile of miscellaneous medicinal herbs back:
"Go back and study it carefully. If you come to the next gathering, I will leave you a basic book on soul maintenance."
The round-faced man and the tall, thin man smiled at the same time and thanked him repeatedly.
The two men tucked the black stone into their pockets as if they had found some treasure, then turned and disappeared into the crowd.
I've run out of magic stones. Staying here will only make me envious of others and increase the risk. It's better to make a run for it.
Lynn watched their retreating figures, wondering what the two boys' future held.
The remaining items were displayed for half a day, and two more odds and ends were sold.
Seeing that no one else was coming, Lynn figured these things wouldn't sell well, so she wrapped up the rest of the items and put them back in her ring.
After wandering around for a while, seeing that he couldn't afford the things on other people's stalls, Lynn prepared to leave.
I had just stood up when I heard Horn shout from the stage.
"Gentlemen," Horn's voice boomed over the noise in the hall.
"If you have any loose items that are hard to sell, you can sell them to me in bulk. The price is negotiable."
Upon hearing this, several wizards immediately gathered around.
Some people carried piles of unusable materials, while others carried several broken magical artifacts, lining up to present them to Horn.
Horn didn't pick and choose; he'd take a look, give an estimate, and offer a 40% discount on the lowest-priced items and a 30% discount on the highest-priced ones. Most people hesitated for a moment but still sold.
Lynn stood by and watched for a while.
He assessed the odds and ends he had and realized they were useless to him; he wouldn't be able to exchange them for much money even if he brought them back to Graystone City.
Why not release them all now?
He walked over and laid out all the unused materials from the ring and the remaining notes from the sale on the table: "Lord Horn, will you take these?"
Horn looked down, flipped through the documents, did some calculations, and gave a price.
It was 40% cheaper than the normal price, but the advantage was that I bought everything in a flash, even the random stuff.
Lynn nodded, took the magic stone bag, then turned around and bought a few bottles of potions from Mira before leaving the auction house.
The sun was shining brightly on the street.
Lynn touched the ring; most of the space inside was empty. In return, he received a scroll of Star Magic, five scrolls of Apprentice-level Magic, four bottles of Spiritual Energy Potions, and the two Star Beast materials.
It was alright, not a wasted trip.
