Magicians never make wishes
Chapter 25 has finally been released, the Stone Monster.
"Barbarian Stone, Red Hammer! Retreat first."
The gray elf shouted and swiftly swung his short staff.
A golden sphere of light flew out from it and hovered in mid-air.
Immediately, the sphere of light cast a bright light, illuminating a golden halo on the ground large enough to hold several people.
The grey elf pulled Ronan into the circle of light, while the orcs and dwarves in the distance retreated at the same time.
"What's going on? Where did all these blood slaves come from?" The orc looked around and asked with a dark face.
"What do I care where they came from!" the female dwarf glared at the gray elf. "Who the hell gave them that information?"
Ronan didn't know if all dwarves spoke this way, with a very high profanity level.
But he was certain that the female dwarf and the evil axe would get along.
"Blood Master, Higgs." After the grey elf finished speaking, the orc and the dwarf woman both looked at Ronan.
Ronan remained silent; he had never heard of the name before.
However, "Red Star" clearly recognized her, and the gray elf continued, "The senior who arranged for you to come here."
"What a love-hate relationship between senior and junior..." the gray elf scoffed, then said seriously.
"This task is cancelled and the prepayment will not be refunded."
"And one more thing." The gray elf pulled out a small notebook and quickly wrote it down.
"We'll settle Higgs's score separately, but both of you will be blacklisted, and our team will have no further business dealings with you."
Ronan looked completely innocent. "It has nothing to do with me, right? Actually, I..."
"Shut the hell up!" Having lost her employer status, the female dwarf treated Ronan the same as everyone else.
Actually, I'm the real victim...
"Damn it, I have to use my best skills right away." The orc spat on the ground.
He reached out and ran his hand across the giant axe blade, and a strange power controlled the blood, spreading it evenly across the blade.
The entire giant axe was instantly covered in blood.
The orc excitedly jumped out of the circle of light, wielding his axe in both hands and sweeping it horizontally.
A streak of blood-red light flashed outwards, slicing the three nearby blood slaves in half.
Then, he pushed off with his feet and quickly retreated back into the area of the light.
After this series of actions, the orc's chest heaved, indicating that he had expended considerable energy.
"How much of the Blood Crystal's duration is left?" the grey elf asked the dwarf.
"About fifteen minutes."
The female dwarf kicked the orc, "Useless piece of trash, how long can this charade last?"
"Let's talk about fighting!" the orc said, his breathing becoming lighter.
The gray elf inverted his short staff and shot another green ball of light toward the center of the ground.
Suddenly, a ring of green patterns lit up the ground within the aperture's range.
Ronan suddenly felt as comfortable as if he were soaking in a hot spring. His physical fatigue was relieved, and even his mental energy was rapidly recovering.
"What is this?" he couldn't help but ask.
"A restoration ritual spell." Seeing that the other party seemed completely unaware, the gray elf simply added, "It's an extremely rare type of magic."
"You're a magician too?" Ronan blurted out in surprise.
"I guess so..." the gray elf answered somewhat guiltily.
The orc's condition quickly recovered under the restoration of this unorthodox magic, and he leaped to the other side, wielding his giant axe.
With another sweeping strike, he easily felled four blood slaves that had come close.
But this was only a drop in the ocean; the blood slaves continued to approach and had already surrounded the aura.
"Don't worry, the 'Holy Light Ritual Spell' is very effective at blocking this type of evil."
Seeing Ronan staring back and forth between the orbs of light above his head and the ground, the gray elf patiently offered a word of comfort, feeling a pang of sympathy:
In a way, Akahoshi was also a victim; he certainly never expected to be betrayed by his senior...
With too many blood slaves, the female dwarf had no choice but to resort to the same methods as the orcs.
Her hammer was stained with bright red blood, and each strike generated a wide-ranging vibration, spreading its power outwards.
One hammer blow can flatten four or five blood slaves.
Its destructive power is astonishing.
Even so, the gray elf still looked somber.
"Stay vigilant! Don't think that these are the only blood slaves; the even more powerful gargoyles haven't appeared yet!"
"And..." The gray elf's gaze fell on the blood slave who had been cut in half at the beginning.
At this moment, the two halves of the body were wriggling and approaching each other, showing no signs of death.
"Will the blood slaves be resurrected?" Ronan also witnessed this scene.
"I don't know, but you'd better hope they don't."
The gray elf observed his two teammates fighting on the front lines and said, "Otherwise, we might not have been able to hold out for even a quarter of an hour."
Although the orcs and female dwarves launched fierce attacks, their endurance was poor, and they had to return to the light circle to recover for a while after only a few hits.
This not only slowed down the attack, but also gave the blood slaves who had been killed earlier time to resurrect.
Indeed, Ronan and the Grey Elf both noticed that the original three Blood Slaves had automatically healed and stood up again.
Not only that, but something even worse happened.
A strange cry suddenly rang out from deep within the ancient castle.
The blood slaves, as if injected with adrenaline, surged toward the circle of light without regard for the attacks they would face from the orcs and dwarves.
The grey elves tried their best to maintain the circle of light, and the holy light barely kept the blood slaves out, but it couldn't withstand the onslaught of those who came later.
Seeing the encirclement getting tighter, Ronan prepared to make his move.
Just then, the orc cursed under his breath and shouted at the crowd, "Get down!"
The female dwarf reacted the fastest, instantly lying prone on the ground.
The grey elf pounced on Ronan, and the two of them lay down next to the female dwarf.
Ronan's ray, which he was about to unleash, was interrupted. Just as he was wondering what was going on, he saw the orc's body glow red, which extended to the giant axe in his hand.
Immediately afterwards, he spun around in place and swung his giant axe in a circular slash.
The slash instantly spread to all the blood slaves, separating them from their heads.
After this attack, the orc's flesh withered and decayed, his once robust body shrank, and he lay on the ground panting heavily.
Judging from this, they won't be able to fight for the time being.
"How much time...how much time is left?" he asked with difficulty.
"7 minutes."
The female dwarf stood up and looked into the depths of the ancient castle from which the eerie cries were coming from.
At this moment, a huge bat statue slowly emerged with heavy steps.
"Finally, the stone monster has come out."
The female dwarf scoffed, her heavy hammer stained with blood.
Her entire body glowed with a bloody light, just like an orc's, and then she gathered her strength and threw it.
The crimson hammer, as if guided, slammed down on the gargoyle that had just emerged.
"Thump."
A low, muffled thud.
The dwarf's hammer shattered upon impact, leaving only a few scratches on the gargoyle's skin.
Ronan frowned; he could roughly estimate the destructive power of the female dwarf's hammer blow.
Surprisingly, this powerful blow only caused such little damage to the gargoyle.
The gargoyle's physical defense is indeed as good as its reputation suggests.
The gargoyle in front of them was clearly more troublesome than a regular gargoyle, and it was also a size larger.
"Can the Restoration Ritual still be used?" Ronan turned to the gray elf and asked.
The gray elf's desperate lunge just now interrupted two of her ritual spells.
The gray elf shook his head in despair.
But he still cast a green array around the feet of the orc and the female dwarf, "It's useless, they can't recover that quickly..."
No, I meant for me to use, why did you put it so far away?
Helpless, Ronan could only get up and walk towards the array pattern.
"Don't do anything foolish!" the gray elf cried weakly, it seemed that maintaining the ritual spell was also taking a toll on her.
