Chapter 45 The Missing Savior: A Knight Never Abandons His Companions!

In July, Surrey was sweltering. The lawns along Privet Drive, though neatly trimmed, were withered and browned in the sun.

No. 4, Ligustrum Road, is an ordinary house.

[Current Area: Isengard Outpost]

Threat Level: Orange

[Environmental Debuff: Due to a powerful barrier (Lily's bloodline magic), this place repels dark creatures, but also imprisons those who wear the ring.]

Lowe crouched on an oak tree across the street, his figure perfectly concealed by the dense foliage. He wore a grey-green cloak and held a hard, compressed biscuit in his hand.

"It's the third day." Rowe took a bite of his biscuit, his eyes fixed on the second-floor window with its iron bars. "The orcs are keeping a close watch on us."

He should have been enjoying a rare peaceful holiday at the London orphanage. But the person under his yoke has gone missing.

For a whole month, all the letters Rowe sent to Harry went unanswered.

Three days ago, Ron Weasley's owl brought him even worse news: Ron had sent Harry twelve letters and even tried to call him (but Uncle Vernon hung up on him), but still hadn't received a reply.

This is not normal.

More importantly, Lowe had not forgotten what he had seen at King's Cross Station.

That creature hiding behind the pillar, with eyes as big as tennis balls.

[System Task: Track Down the Lord of the Rings Thief]

[Quest Description: Gollum is stalking the Ringbearer. It is attempting to reclaim its treasure. You must find it before it makes a move.]

"It's nearby." Lowe swallowed the last bite of the biscuit. "I can smell it."

"We must remain vigilant." Rowe wiped the cookie crumbs from his mouth and gripped the frying pan at his waist (his only defensive weapon at the moment, as he couldn't use his wand outside of school). "That monster could appear at any moment."

Just then, a strange fluctuation caught his attention.

On the second floor, in Harry's room, a small, thin figure appeared out of nowhere.

Lo Wei's pupils contracted sharply.

[WARNING: Hostile unit detected!]

[Race: Fallen Hobbit/Twisted Creature]

[Real Name: Smego/Gollum]

Through the gaps in the leaves, Rowe saw Dobby wearing a dirty pillowcase, bowing humbly to Harry.

"Harry Potter!" Dobby screamed.

But to Rowe's ears, the voice, processed through the system's "epic filter," became a hoarse, sinister whisper:

"...Baby...my precious..."

Luo Wei gasped. It really was it!

Inside the room, Harry stared in horror at the uninvited guest: "Who are you?"

"Dobby, sir. A house-elf."

Dobby began to explain its purpose: it wanted to warn Harry not to return to Hogwarts because of the great danger there. To show its sincerity, it began frantically banging its head against the wardrobe.

"Bad Dobby! Bad Dobby!"

In Luo Wei's eyes, this scene was absolutely horrifying.

"Gulu" is on the verge of a mental breakdown. It screams in dark language while frantically self-harming, as if two souls are tearing at its body.

[System notification: The target is in an extremely unstable state. The dark personality is gaining the upper hand.]

"It's trying to control the mind of the ring-bearer!" Rowe gripped the branch tightly. "Hold on, Harry!"

Uncle Vernon's furious roar came from downstairs: "Damn it! What's going on upstairs?!"

Harry had obviously heard him too, and he frantically tried to quiet Dobby down. But instead of calming down, Dobby jumped onto the desk.

"Harry Potter can't go back to school! It's a trap!"

"I have to go back!" Harry growled. "My friends are there!"

"Friends?" Dobby's expression suddenly turned sad. "None of those friends write to Harry Potter?"

Harry's expression changed.

Dobby pulled a stack of letters out of the tattered pillowcase.

Rowe squinted from the tree. Those were letters he'd sent to Harry, and also to Ron and Hermione.

"Damn thief!" Rowe gritted his teeth. "It intercepted the Allied forces' intelligence!"

What happened next happened quickly. Harry tried to snatch the letter back, but Dobby nimbly jumped away.

"Since Harry Potter won't listen to advice..." A resolute glint flashed in Dobby's eyes as he rushed toward the door and snapped his fingers.

The door opened. Dobby rushed out and headed downstairs.

"No!" Harry shouted and chased after them.

Without hesitation, Lowe leaped from the oak tree like a nimble squirrel, landing on the porch roof of No. 4 Privet Drive, and then slid down the drainpipe to the kitchen window.

Meanwhile, an awkward yet grand dinner was taking place in the kitchen. Uncle Vernon was boasting to the Masons about his drilling rig order, while Aunt Penny carried a plate of exquisite violet pudding cake.

Dobby crouched on top of the cupboard, pointing at the enormous cake.

[Warning: Magic fluctuations detected!]

[Enemy Intention: Activate the catapults!]

The cake slowly floated up.

"No! Dobby, no!" Harry cried desperately from the doorway.

But in Rowe's view, the cake had transformed into a massive, burning siege boulder, hovering above Mrs. Mason's head.

"For Frodo!"

With a roar, Lowe smashed open the kitchen window.

"Splash!"

The sound of shattering glass startled everyone. The Masons turned around in horror, and Uncle Vernon's mouth dropped open.

They saw a boy wearing a strange gray-green cloak, with leaves all over his head, holding a dark frying pan, fly in through the window like a cannonball.

"Defensive stance!"

Lo Wei adjusted his posture in mid-air, precisely aiming the frying pan in his hand at the falling cake.

[Skill Activation: Shield Block]

[Judgment: Physical Defense vs. Magic Throw]

"Bang!"

The frying pan did catch the cake.

Although the cake didn't hit Mrs. Mason on the head, it exploded upon impact with the frying pan, turning into countless purple butterflies that indiscriminately covered the entire table.

The largest piece of cream was smeared on Uncle Vernon's purplish-red face.

Dobby stared in horror at the unexpected attack, snapped his fingers in fright, and vanished.

Rowe knelt on one knee on the dining table, maintaining a shield-raising stance, his sharp eyes scanning the surroundings.

"It's safe now," he said in a deep voice, wiping the cream off his face. "I've blocked the catapult's attack."

Uncle Vernon slowly wiped the cream off his face, revealing a pair of murderous eyes. Mrs. Mason screamed and fainted.

Harry stood in the doorway, watching this scene, his mind blank.

"Luo...Luo Wei?"

"Quick, Ringbearer!" Rowe jumped off the table and grabbed Harry's wrist. "The orc ambush has been foiled! We must retreat to Helm's Deep!"

"You... madman!" Uncle Vernon exploded, charging at him like an enraged rhinoceros. "You're from that weird school! You're from that weird school too!"

Lovi lifted the frying pan.

"Back off, you troll!"

This roar, fueled by his inner chuunibyou (adolescent delusions of grandeur), was incredibly powerful and actually intimidated Uncle Vernon for a second.

But it only lasted for a second.

The next moment, an owl flew in and dropped a warning letter from the Ministry of Magic.

The situation is completely out of control.

……

Half an hour later.

Harry's room was fitted with more iron bars, three locks were added to the door, and a small cat hole was opened at the bottom for delivering food.

Lowe was not captured. At the last moment, he successfully escaped using Hobbit stealth (slipping under the table and climbing through the window).

At that moment, he was hiding in the shadows on the street corner, looking at the sealed window.

[Mission Update: Rescue the Ordination Holders]

Current progress: Failure (Target imprisoned)

[New objective: Awaiting reinforcements]

Rowe took a marker out of his pocket and drew a strange symbol on the lamppost outside number 4 Privet Drive. It was the mark Gandalf left on Bilbo's door, which meant "Thief/Adventurer/Help Needed".

"Don't worry, Harry."

"A chivalrous knight never abandons his companions."

He tightened his cloak and disappeared into the Surrey night.

In his room on the second floor, Harry looked through the iron bars at the scribbles on the lamppost. Although he couldn't understand what they meant, he felt a strange warmth in his heart.

At least, someone knows he's here.
