After being reborn, I gained a childhood sweetheart who appeared out of nowhere.
Chapter 72: Many girls like it, right?
Lin Chuan had just arrived at the classroom when he saw several unfamiliar notebooks on the table. While he was wondering where these notebooks came from, Zhou Yun walked over, also holding a notebook in her hand.
"Class monitor, was that article submission for the school magazine for you?" Zhou Yun asked.
"Oh, right." Lin Chuan remembered this.
"This is what I wrote," Zhou Yun said, handing over the notebook.
"Okay, I'll take it." Lin Chuan took the notebook, but Zhou Yun didn't leave.
"What's wrong? Is there anything else?" he asked again.
"Can I ask you for a favor?" Zhou Yun asked cautiously.
"Go ahead and tell me."
"This is my first time writing an essay for this kind of contest, and I don't know how it's done," Zhou Yun said. "If you could, could you take a look?"
Lin Chuan finally understood: they wanted him to be an editor!
"I have no experience in guiding others in writing essays," Lin Chuan said.
"Oh, it's nothing, I'm sorry," Zhou Yun quickly apologized.
"What I mean is, although I've never tutored anyone in writing essays, I can definitely help you take a look if you need it. Maybe I can take a look during evening study?" Lin Chuan said.
Zhou Yun's eyes lit up slightly, and she bowed slightly to him.
"Don't do that," Lin Chuan waved his hand, feeling somewhat uncomfortable.
"Mmm, thank you, class monitor." Zhou Yun looked up with a slight smile on her face.
At the other end of the classroom, a small black leather suitcase sat on the corner of Cheng Xue's desk. Zhao Jiajia asked curiously, "Xiao Xue, what's this?"
"Watercolor paints," Cheng Xue said.
"You can draw too?"
"Yes, I know a little."
"Are you going to submit an article to the school magazine?" Zhao Jiajia asked.
"I had this plan. I had almost finished drawing it before, and I was thinking of finishing it during my lunch break or when I had time in the afternoon," Cheng Xue paused for a moment, "but it seems there's a problem."
"What's wrong?"
"I discovered this morning that my paint box was missing paint," Cheng Xue said.
"What's missing?" Zhao Jiajia asked.
"White paint."
"Huh? There's white paint for painting?"
"Yes, it will be used to mix other colors. The blue and cyan colors were also lost," Cheng Xue explained.
"Should we go buy it?"
Cheng Xue paused for a moment. She was a boarding student, so going out would be troublesome. "Going to buy it would be a bit of a hassle. I'm wondering if I should just forget about it."
"No, let's think of another way," Zhao Jiajia rolled her eyes. "If that doesn't work, let's ask the all-knowing class monitor. Maybe he has some ideas."
"Class monitor?" Cheng Xue paused for a moment.
"Yeah, yeah, he's in charge of soliciting articles for the school magazine," Zhao Jiajia said. "I think I even suggested he check out our school's art studio, so you could ask him."
"No need, I can go to the studio myself..."
Before Cheng Xue could finish speaking, Zhao Jiajia had already stood up and walked towards the back seat. "It's better for the class monitor to go about this kind of thing. It's not good if you go by yourself."
Cheng Xue was taken aback, but had no choice but to follow.
"Class monitor!" Zhao Jiajia called out.
"What's wrong? You have to write an essay too? You're not going to write an anime autobiography for me, are you?" Lin Chuan glanced at Zhao Jiajia, after all, he didn't really believe that this otaku girl could write essays for the school magazine.
"Hehe, class monitor, that's not right. I haven't been reading comics in class lately, but I've been studying hard. But it wasn't me who came to you, it was Xiaoxue," Zhao Jiajia said. "She lost some of her paints, and it seems like a hassle to buy new ones."
Lin Chuan said "Oh," and replied, "We can go to the art studio to take a look. If it's just borrowing a little bit, that should be fine."
"So, could you please take her there?" Zhao Jiajia patted Lin Chuan on the shoulder and said, "You're the class monitor, and it's about the submission process; it's your responsibility!"
"Okay." Lin Chuan didn't refuse.
"Then take Xiaoxue there after school this afternoon," Zhao Jiajia said, as if the matter had been decided.
"What about you? Are you going?" Lin Chuan looked at Cheng Xue, knowing that she didn't like him, so he still asked.
Cheng Xue remained silent for a moment, but did not refuse. She simply replied, "Thank you for your trouble."
"It's alright." Lin Chuan nodded.
He didn't dwell on it much. In any case, it didn't really matter to him whether it was Cheng Xue who asked him or someone else; he would help anyway.
After school in the afternoon, Lin Chuan and Cheng Xue went to the school's art studio together. He stood in front of the door and knocked. The door opened, and it was the same short-haired girl from last time.
"You're here again?" the girl asked.
Lin Chuan said, "Something came up."
"What is it?"
"A classmate of mine recently participated in an illustration competition for the school magazine, but lost a few watercolor paints. I was wondering if it would be convenient to borrow some watercolors to paint a piece for the competition?" Lin Chuan didn't beat around the bush and asked directly.
The short-haired girl covered her mouth and laughed, "Oh, is that so? I thought you were going to make us draw some kind of artwork again."
She thought for a moment, "How about this, you two come over during your evening study session. We don't need the studio then, and I can lend her my paints. I need to paint now too, so I need to use them as well."
"Is it convenient?" Lin Chuan asked. He originally just wanted to borrow some paint, and if there was an art studio, it would be nice.
"It's nothing," the short-haired girl said. "What kind of paint are you missing?"
"White, blue, and cyan," Cheng Xue said.
The short-haired girl paused, "I think I spoke too soon. Suddenly I feel a little reluctant to part with my white paint."
"It's okay if it's inconvenient," Cheng Xue said.
"Haha, just kidding," the short-haired girl said. "My name is Lu Ying."
"Lin Chuan, Class 5, Grade 11."
"Cheng Xue," Cheng Xue said, pausing for a moment, "may I take a look at your paintings?"
"Sure, feel free to look around," Lu Ying said.
"Thank you." Cheng Xue nodded in acknowledgment, then walked around the studio, gazing intently at the paintings on the wall. She would look at each painting for a while, or stand behind her classmates who were painting, silently watching without making a sound.
Clearly, she is much more professional than Lin Chuan and Chen Xiyu.
"It wasn't this girl last time, why did you change her again?" Lu Ying suddenly whispered.
"I'm just her class monitor, so I brought her along on my way," Lin Chuan said.
"Really?" Lu Ying covered her mouth and laughed. "With a class monitor like that, a lot of girls must like him, right?"
"No, no one has ever confessed their feelings to me from childhood to adulthood," Lin Chuan said.
I don't believe it.
Lin Chuan smiled. Although he really wanted to go eat first, he waited until Cheng Xue finished visiting the studio before the two of them said goodbye to Lu Ying and left.
Since they were both going to eat, they had the same goal. Although they didn't speak to each other along the way, it seemed as if they had made a prior arrangement.
When they arrived at the cafeteria, they were all queuing up one after the other, and it felt like Cheng Xue was following him. But he didn't say anything, since there was only one road and only a few food windows, so there was no point in saying anything.
"Auntie, I want this, this..." Lin Chuan said to the food vendor, pointing to the food in the window.
After the aunt skillfully served him his meal, she entered the amount into the card reader. Just as Lin Chuan was about to take out his meal card, someone reached out from behind him.
"What are you doing?" Lin Chuan asked, looking at Cheng Xue who was holding her meal card.
"I'll pay for you."
"Why are you paying for me?" Lin Chuan asked, looking confused.
"Because you helped me," Cheng Xue said.
Lin Chuan was somewhat speechless. "No need."
"No," Cheng Xue insisted.
Lin Chuan wanted to say something, but noticed that everyone around him was looking over, seemingly wondering what the two of them were doing.
"Whatever you want."
After Cheng Xue swiped her card, Lin Chuan took his dinner and found a corner to sit down. This time, Cheng Xue didn't sit opposite him, but instead found an empty spot not far away.
The two were sitting a few tables apart, each eating with their heads down. When Lin Chuan finished eating and looked up again, Cheng Xue had already left. He didn't pay much attention and got up to go to the student council.
