"Let's go, I can't drink anymore."

Lin Weiwei rubbed her throbbing temples and stood up, swaying slightly.

"My partner has been urging me to leave eight hundred times already. If I don't leave soon, he's going to flip the table."

Su Wan had no choice but to give up, paid the bill, and helped Lin Weiwei walk towards the alley entrance.

A night breeze blew, and the effects of the alcohol mostly wore off, but the man's image became increasingly clear in my mind.

His restraint and elegance while eating, his cold and deep voice, and the fleeting anger in his eyes when he gripped her wrist.

Every detail seems to be etched into my heart, impossible to forget.

"Oh, right."

Lin Weiwei suddenly stopped and pointed to a black police car parked not far from the alley entrance.

"Was that the policeman's car from earlier?"

Su Wan looked in the direction she pointed and indeed saw a police car with public security markings parked under a street lamp.

The car's lines are sharp, and like its owner, it exudes a cold and unapproachable aura.

Her heart skipped a beat for no apparent reason, and she subconsciously slowed her pace, her gaze lingering on the car.

Sure enough, a familiar figure was standing not far away.

He was still wearing that crisp, dark blue police uniform. His broad shoulders and narrow waist cast a long shadow under the streetlights, making him appear even taller and more imposing.

He seemed to be on the phone, his head slightly tilted, the profile of his face appearing even more striking under the light.

His thin lips were pressed tightly together, and he occasionally let out a low groan or two in response.

The voice came through the night wind, indistinct yet still carrying an undeniable sense of authority.

Su Wan stood rooted to the spot, staring at him without blinking.

I don't know if it was the courage fueled by the lingering effects of alcohol, or the rebellious streak in my bones that was at play.

She suddenly pushed Lin Weiwei's hand away and whispered, "Wait for me a moment, I'm going to say something to him."

"Hey! Don't go!"

Lin Weiwei tried to grab her, but she nimbly dodged her.

Su Wan took a deep breath and tidied the stray hairs on her forehead.

She straightened her back, deliberately letting the cropped T-shirt reveal her waist to accentuate her alluring curves.

Then, with light steps, she walked towards the man.

This time, she didn't deliberately create a chance encounter; instead, she walked straight up to him and looked up at him.

The man clearly hadn't expected to run into her again. His brow furrowed almost imperceptibly, and the distance in his eyes deepened. He briefly said "That's all for now" to the person on the other end of the phone and then hung up.

"Officer, what a coincidence!"

Su Wan wore a sweet smile, but her eyes held a hint of cunning and defiance.

"I just finished having a late-night snack and then ran into you. It seems we're really destined to meet."

The man's gaze lingered on her for a moment.

The focus wasn't on her deliberately exposed waistline, nor on her meticulously applied makeup.

Instead, he looked straight into her eyes, his dark pupils as deep as a frozen pool, his voice as cold as ice.

"Miss, I've already said I don't want to be disturbed."

"I didn't come here to bother you."

Su Wan took a step forward, now only a step away from him.

She could almost smell the faint scent of disinfectant mixed with tobacco on him; the smell was strange and alluring, making her heart flutter.

"I just wanted to ask, what's your name? I can't keep calling you 'Officer Brother,' can I?"

Her voice was so soft it could melt your heart, with a deliberately coquettish tone, but her eyes were bold and intense, staring at his face without any hesitation.

From his sword-like eyebrows to his high nose bridge and tightly pursed thin lips, every feature captivated her.

The man's brows furrowed even more.

The air pressure around him dropped instantly, creating an invisible sense of oppression that made the surrounding air seem to freeze.

My name has nothing to do with you.

His voice was devoid of any warmth.

"Please leave immediately, or I will issue you a warning for harassing a public official."

The threatening words were blunt and cold, leaving no room for negotiation.

Anyone else would probably have been terrified and fled in panic.

But Su Wan seemed to have her competitive spirit aroused. Instead of backing down, she moved closer and almost pressed herself against him.

She could clearly feel the heat emanating from him, as well as his even and powerful breathing.

That was the aura of a powerful being, making the blood in her body boil.

"Harassing public officials?"

Su Wan raised an eyebrow, deliberately raising her hand and lightly tracing the police badge on his chest with her fingertips.

"Officer, I just wanted to be friends with you. How could that be considered harassment? Or perhaps you have some misunderstanding about me?"

Her fingertips, slightly cool, brushed against his hard uniform like a feather, gently scratching his heart.

The man's body tensed instantly, like a beast whose scales had been touched, a clear rage flashing in his eyes.

He raised his hand and grabbed her wrist, with even more force than at the barbecue stand, almost crushing her wrist.

"I said, have some self-respect."

His voice was low and hoarse, filled with restrained rage, and his dark eyes churned with anger, which he tried his best to suppress.

"Don't test my limits."

Su Wan's brows furrowed slightly as he gripped her so tightly they hurt.

She didn't struggle; instead, she looked up at him, a hint of stubbornness and grievance flashing in her eyes.

"I just like you, is that wrong? You're so beautiful and charming, I can't help but want to get closer to you, is that wrong too?"

Her voice trembled slightly, as if she had suffered a great injustice.

Her eyes were slightly red, and she looked like she was about to cry, enough to soften any man's heart.

But the man before her was like a block of ice that could not be warmed; there was no emotion in his eyes, only a growing sense of disgust.

"Liking someone is not a reason for you to harass them."

His voice was as cold as an ice blade in the dead of winter.

"I have absolutely no interest in a woman like you who deliberately seduce others."

"Deliberate seduction?"

Su Wan felt as if she had been stabbed in the heart by those words, feeling both pain and anger, and her eyes instantly reddened.

"I, Su Wan, have never seduced anyone in my entire life! I just like you and want to pursue you openly and honestly. How does that constitute deliberate seduction?"

Her voice suddenly rose a few decibels, tinged with a sob.

She admitted that she was attracted to his looks and charisma at first sight.

But her feelings were genuine; she had never been so earnest in trying to get close to someone before.

But this man in front of her described her feelings in such a despicable way, making her feel utterly humiliated.

The man looked at her reddened eyes, and the anger in his eyes seemed to have subsided slightly, but he still did not loosen his grip on her wrist, only slightly reducing the force.

He remained silent for a few seconds, his voice still cold, but with a hint of impatience.

"I have a girlfriend."

These words were like a bucket of cold water, instantly extinguishing all the flames in Su Wan's heart.

She stood there, frozen in place, her smile gone, the stubbornness and grievance in her eyes instantly replaced by disbelief.

She asked instinctively, "What did you say? You have a girlfriend?"
