The Walking Dead: Starting as a Cowboy
Chapter 116 Embedding
Randall has been sent to Glenn's squad's base.
Randall had been tortured beyond recognition, his tendons in his hands and feet had been severed, and his life was now on the countdown.
Glenn looked at Randall in such a miserable state and said nothing. The indifference on his face showed that he was no longer the enthusiastic pizza deliveryman.
He said to Jimmy beside him, "Send someone to inform Maggie."
Jimmy turned around to look for someone.
Glenn was accompanied by Rick and Morgan. Rick had also witnessed many gruesome killings. Seeing Randall's current state, he frowned but said nothing.
Rick may be indecisive, but when there's a real threat, he's faster than anyone else at shooting.
Morgan, however, showed a hint of struggle on his dark face and couldn't help but say, "Is it really necessary to torture him like this?"
Glenn raised an eyelid, glanced at Morgan, and said coldly, "Isn't it necessary?"
"Captain," Morgan swallowed hard, avoiding Glenn's gaze, and said, "This is too morbid, to retaliate against a teenager like this, this..."
After Moore brought Randall over, he hadn't left yet. He leaned against the wall, with his squad members beside him.
Mohr gave a strange smile, turned to look at his teammates, and saw that they all had mocking smiles on their faces before turning back.
Now he wanted to see how Glenn would respond, and the person who asked the question clearly had a conflict with the combat team's principles; he was being far too lenient.
Rick understood this as well. He tugged at Morgan, wanting to say something, but was interrupted by Glenn's words.
"You think it's unnecessary?" Glenn stared intently at Morgan, then slowly turned his head away.
"When someone slaps you, and you slap them back, do you think that's fair?" Glenn stood up, his not-so-tall figure exuding a sense of oppression.
Seeing Glenn approach, Morgan mustered his courage and replied, "...Fair, isn't it?"
"No, that's not fair." Glenn shook his head. "You had no intention of hurting or harming anyone, yet you were injured for no reason."
"You should retaliate tenfold or a hundredfold, let that person know your anger, instead of pursuing justice like a coward."
"What we want is absolute security and peace, not every now and then a force provokes us, and we just retaliate and that's it."
Glenn's eyes burned with fury, and his voice grew louder.
"We must eliminate the enemy, and every single one of them who dares to lay a hand on us, and let other forces know that we are jackals, we are tigers and leopards, and we are not to be trifled with!!!"
Do you understand?
Glenn looked at Morgan and roared in anger.
Morgan slumped to the ground in a daze, staring blankly at Glenn in front of him.
Moore stared at Glenn's outburst for a moment, then let out a hoarse, unpleasant laugh and clapped his hands.
"Wow, amazing, Korean kid."
Glenn glanced at Moore, then waved his hand dismissively, "If you have nothing else to do, go back home. What are you doing here?"
Then, Glenn looked at Morgan solemnly: "If you feel that my combat team has different ideas and beliefs from yours, I advise you to withdraw as soon as possible."
"Otherwise, if you hesitate even for a moment during a mission in the future, I will kill you." When he said this, Glenn's face was calm, but his eyes were like a still lake.
Morgan lowered his head. He knew Glenn wasn't lying to him; Glenn would definitely make his move.
Rick looked at Morgan, then at Glenn, opened his mouth, but found that all the words were stuck in his throat and he couldn't say them.
He wanted to say something on Morgan's behalf, but it was a matter of opinion that couldn't be easily changed, and he couldn't force Morgan to change his views.
Even if the two are friends.
Rick sighed.
Moore and his men left quickly. Morgan and Rick went home, leaving only Randall and Glenn waiting for Maggie in the room.
creak-
The door opened, and Glenn, without turning around, said, "You've come?"
"Hmm." Maggie tugged at her sleeve awkwardly, making a muffled nasal sound. Her eyes were red, and her nose was also red.
She had obviously cried before coming over.
Glenn then turned to look at Maggie. He was taken aback and saw that Maggie was looking at him with red eyes, looking extremely aggrieved.
Urged on by a frantic voice from within, Glenn lunged forward and embraced Maggie.
In her arms, Maggie burst into tears, tears streaming down her face like a burst dam.
Soon, the front of his clothes was soaked, and Glenn felt extremely distressed. His heart felt like it was blocked by a cotton ball that had absorbed a lot of water, unable to go up or down.
"...You bastard, you...you never come to see me." Maggie's tearful voice reached Glenn's ears, "Why...why don't you come to see me? I, I really miss you so much."
Maggie cried uncontrollably, pounding her fists on Glenn.
Glenn coughed, but there was no stopping him.
Maggie was no delicate city girl; she was stronger than most men, often did farm work, and had a lithe, leopard-like figure.
Amid Maggie's crying and cursing, the awkwardness between the two vanished instantly, and Maggie's emotions were released.
Glenn recounted to Maggie the events leading up to the robbery at Green Farm, where the gang came from, and why they came to Green Farm...
Maggie suddenly realized that she had been kidnapped with a gun pointed at her head and thought it was an accident, but it turned out to be a man-made disaster.
"Randall is right here." Glenn took two steps back, walked to Randall's side, and reached out to remove Randall's burlap hood.
Maggie narrowed her eyes, carefully examined Randall in front of her, and asked suspiciously, "Who are you?"
Randall's one eye was swollen, leaving only a slit so he could barely see anything. With his other eye, he could barely see Maggie. He stretched out his hand: "It's me, Randall."
To Randall's surprise, Maggie shook her head and said with disgust, "I don't remember you at all."
Randall paused for a moment, enduring the pain, and even managed to open his swollen eye a tiny bit.
Ignoring Randall's reaction, Maggie took the machete Glenn handed her.
"Don't you need to vent a little more?"
Maggie shook her head. "It's not necessary."
As she spoke, Maggie suddenly slashed down with her sword.
The cold blade pierced Randall's skull, and blood gushed out like a high-pressure jet of water, drenching Maggie.
Maggie casually wiped the blood from her face, her expression indifferent. She used her foot to brace Randall's face, pulled out her cleaver, and slashed down again.
With each strike of the cleaver, Randall quickly died.
Maggie, slightly out of breath from all the chopping, straightened up, brushed her hair aside, and a strong smell of blood filled her nostrils.
"Ugh, that stinks."
"Uh..." Glenn stretched out his hand, "How about we go to my place to wash up?"
