The Walking Dead: Starting as a Cowboy
Chapter 127 Gunfight
O'Donnell knew that the group outside was not to be trifled with, and if he were to fight them head-on, he would most likely be the one to die. Moreover, all the people who went out were dead, and his forces had already been reduced by a portion.
Charging forward with only the people in front of you is tantamount to offering yourself up as food.
It would be better to bring along any items that are easy to carry from the hospital and leave as a group.
This makes the safety factor much higher; maybe those people will let us go if they see that there are more of us on our side.
Of course, O'Donnell also had his own selfish motives.
He had many powerful subordinates, and he also coveted power.
If you have men under your command, you might be able to rebuild a camp and kidnap people everywhere.
Thinking of the taste of women, a wicked glint flashed in O'Donnell's eyes, and he licked his lips.
Seeing that O'Donnell also supported leaving the hospital, everyone in the office smiled, and voices immediately filled the office.
"Boss, we'll definitely follow you."
Immediately, a policeman in uniform, who looked like a thug, raised a bottle of liquor in his hand, stood up to show his loyalty, and reeked of alcohol.
Several of his companions quickly stood up. "That's right, only by following the boss can you live a life of luxury."
"I have no doubt about it, I support the boss!"
"..."
As the voices of several people rose, everyone in the office gradually stood up, all expressing their intention to continue following O'Donnell.
O'Donnell's lips curled up, his heart filled with immense joy. He feigned composure, patted his hands together, and smiled, "I've seen everyone's loyalty. We'll see it once we leave the hospital."
"We won't be controlled by that old woman Dawn anymore! We can do whatever we want!"
O'Donnell raised his fists and yelled wildly, "We can do whatever we want!"
"Alas--"
People in the office pumped their fists and repeatedly shouted the arrogant words, the air thick with a frenzied energy.
O'Donnell rallied his troops and immediately led them toward the warehouse.
The warehouse is currently being guarded by Dawn's men, since as the official head, there are still quite a few police officers on Dawn's side.
Two heavily armed policemen stood in front of the warehouse. One of them was an old policeman. He narrowed his eyes. His years of experience fighting between the police and criminals told him that something was wrong.
But the old policeman still took two steps forward, turned to the side and reached out to block O'Donnell, his right hand on the holster.
"O'Donnell, what brings you here?"
The veteran police officer, with his wealth of life experience, immediately saw what O'Donnell was up to.
O'Donnell hadn't been stopped by anyone in the camp for a long time, not even Dawn. He looked down at the old policeman's arm that was blocking his way, then looked up at the old policeman.
"Old man, are you tired of living?"
The elderly policeman, his hair and beard completely white, shoved O'Donnell sharply. "Go back, O'Donnell. This isn't a place for you to cause trouble!"
O'Donnell staggered back two steps, his face instantly turning cold. He'd actually lost face in front of his men. He immediately drew his pistol and shouted, "Kill them!"
His men behind him, of course, wouldn't let him down, and quickly drew their guns and fired.
One side had only two people, while the other side had more than a dozen.
The bullet tore through the air, striking flesh rapidly, splattering blood and sending fragments of wood flying.
The ceiling light bulb was shot and shattered, plunging the entire space into darkness, and the gunfire ceased.
O'Donnell lowered his arm from his face and took a closer look.
The old policeman who had just been so disdainful of himself was now riddled with bullet holes, his body riddled with bullet wounds, blood gushing out, and his face was also covered in bullets, making him unrecognizable.
His eyes remained fixed, as if he were still glaring at O'Donnell.
O'Donnell grinned maliciously as he stepped forward and kicked the fallen old policeman repeatedly, snarling, "Go ahead and try to pull me, you dare to pull me, huh!"
"You're dead, you old bastard, hahaha!"
His face, splattered with a few streaks of blood, wore a particularly ferocious grin.
O'Donnell reloaded his emptied pistol, chambered a round, and continued firing at the old policeman's corpse, roaring, "Die! Die! Die!!!"
He fired repeatedly into the head, even completely shattering part of the flesh and blood, causing slick brain matter to spill out.
O'Donnell, stepping over the old cop's blood, waved his hand and shouted, "You little punks, go in and loot everything!"
"Alas!"
"Robbery! Robbery!"
Upon hearing O'Donnell's order, his men cheered excitedly, whistled, and rushed into the warehouse, their faces flushed.
The warehouse contained mostly food and medicine, which were the hospital's most valuable possessions.
Preciousness also means scarcity; even a small warehouse couldn't be filled, and with continuous consumption, it was never considered sufficient.
O'Donnell hadn't expected there to be so little stuff, but he still urged, "Empty everything up, hurry up, we're leaving right away."
"Yes, boss!"
They responded in unison, and their men, their eyes red with anger, quickly began moving things.
However, what excited them even more was that they could openly take things out of the bag and put them into their own pockets while moving things.
Everyone did the same thing, panting heavily as they frantically moved things around.
O'Donnell felt a pang of heartache seeing these things stolen from him; they were his own possessions, and for his men to steal them was like stealing from his own pocket.
However, since his subordinates are following him in rebellion, he must give them some benefits.
Gorman, sucking on a lollipop and with a wicked glint in his eyes, walked up to O'Donnell and whispered, "Boss, should we kidnap Dr. Steven too?"
"There are no doctors, only medicine, then..."
Gorman didn't continue speaking, he just kept watching his men carrying things.
"That's right!" O'Donnell realized, gathered a few strong and sturdy men, and rushed towards Dr. Steven's office at breakneck speed, following behind him and Gorman.
A gunfight broke out in the warehouse, and the sound traveled quickly, throwing the entire hospital into chaos.
The party in power launches an attack, while the other party cowers in fear – yes, the ostrich tactic.
Dawn hid in his office, trembling as he prayed that O'Donnell would quickly grab his things and leave, showing no intention of avenging the two old policemen or protecting the items in the warehouse.
The oppressed lower classes, seizing the opportunity, quickly fled.
Fortunately, there was no one guarding them, and they were able to get downstairs without incident. However, before they could get out of the barbed wire fence, a group of zombies blocked their way.
These zombies were from the lower class, but they were killed and dumped in the elevator shaft because they were no longer of any use or because the owners got tired of them.
Dr. Steven hid in his office, the door locked, huddled under his desk, trembling and clutching his head, praying as if chanting a spell.
O'Donnell excitedly ran towards Dr. Steven's office. When he saw the lower-ranking staff in the distance, they quickly crouched down or lay on the ground, afraid of being seen.
