The Walking Dead: Starting as a Cowboy

Chapter 142 Die, you bastard!

The guns in their hands gleamed with an oily sheen, indicating they were well-maintained.

Although they were standing crookedly, Shumpert had no doubt that if he made any unusual movement, they could riddle him with bullets in a second.

The armored vehicles had also been modified, so their armor thickness was beyond the reach of our rifles, let alone facing the heavy machine guns on the armored vehicles head-on with rifles.

Shumpert walked up to the "evidence," his thick lips becoming dry from the tension.

Caesar wasn't worried at all that they would see through the deception, because these things were indeed genuine, only their origin was a different story.

So Caesar said enthusiastically, "You may inspect it as you see fit, and you may even take it back."

"We hope that Woodbury is not acting like a robber and that you will give us a fair explanation and compensation."

As he spoke, Caesar raised an eyebrow, as if he had them completely under his control.

Shumpert opened his mouth, but didn't dare say anything provocative; he still wanted to go back alive.

After examining the evidence, Shumpert and his two men found nothing amiss and had no choice but to return and report.

Moore watched Shumpert and his companions walk away and chuckled, "These idiots think they can't find any problems!"

"But will they compensate us?" Daryl was skeptical about the governor's offer of compensation.

This is the apocalypse. So what if I killed two people from your faction? You still want compensation? I'm only being kind by not wiping you out completely.

If the governor actually gives them money when they come to extort him, wouldn't that just prove he's an idiot?

Caesar offered no explanation, but stated firmly, "The governor will certainly make the compensation."

Woodbury became the grotesque place it is today not because of its naive residents, but because of the governor's twisted psychology.

He wanted to create a wonderful living environment for his daughter, a life as wonderful as in peacetime.

In Woodbury, the governor would restrain himself, limit his ruthlessness, and follow certain social rules.

The governor's daughter is the governor's limiter.

As Caesar had predicted.

The governor quickly sent down the compensation, unwilling to get entangled with Caesar and his men any further.

When the compensation was delivered, the governor also approached Caesar.

The governor's gaze swept over every inch of Caesar's face, trying to etch Caesar's features into his memory.

"What's wrong, Governor? Do you want revenge on me?" Caesar smiled faintly, and he could tell what the Governor was thinking just by looking into his eyes.

The governor's face stiffened, but his refined smile returned. "Of course not. This is a misunderstanding. We at Woodbury are very peace-loving."

"Oh, I see." Caesar couldn't help but chuckle as he listened to the governor's words.

They exchanged a few pleasantries.

Just as Caesar and his entourage were about to leave, Caesar paused and looked at Martinez, who was standing next to the governor.

"Well, Martin, you're lucky to have come back alive from Atlanta."

"I have high hopes that you'll survive next time."

After saying that, Caesar got into the car, and the armored vehicle carrying the extortionate goods sped away.

The governor's mask finally broke, and he gritted his teeth and ordered, "Martin, get some men to follow them. I need to know where they're stationed."

After waiting for a while, I still didn't receive a response.

The governor turned his head and saw Martinez with a look of terror on his face, his pupils trembling, his body shaking slightly, and he was in a state of panic.

Martinez gasped for breath, like a fish out of water, feeling nauseous, dizzy, and suffocated.

"Martin? Martin!"

Shumpert shouted a few times.

As Martin's vision grew darker, the sound faded into the distance.

……

"They're catching up!" Daryl rode his motorcycle quickly through the nearby woods and onto the highway, keeping parallel to Caesar's armored vehicle.

Caesar glanced back, smiled, and said loudly, "Since they're here, let them stay."

"I think this place has a nice environment and is suitable as a burial site."

Caesar gave the order.

The armored vehicle jerked the steering wheel and veered into the woods beside the road.

The woods were very dark, which provided excellent cover for the armored vehicle.

They turned around in the woods, with the armored vehicle facing the road, and turned off the engine to wait.

Daryl parked his motorcycle closer to the road, and laid it sideways on the soft fallen leaves, lying down among them.

After the motorcycle was turned off, the enemy would have a hard time spotting Daryl, given the height difference between the road and the adjacent woods.

Caesar sat in the car, listening to the SUV's engine grow louder and louder, then opened his eyes. "They're here!"

Within minutes, two SUVs roared past the location where Caesar and the others were hiding, driving straight along the road.

They were moving extremely fast, as if they were still worried about losing them.

Caesar patted the center console and shouted, "Drive! Now it's our turn to chase them!"

With a thunderous roar, the engine roared to life.

The wheels kicked up fallen leaves and a little dirt, climbing up the small slope and onto the highway.

Daryl's motorcycle was already waiting on the road. He twisted the throttle and sped off with an even faster acceleration.

Seeing Daryl chase after him, Moore excitedly stepped on the gas pedal.

The armored vehicle quickly caught up with the motorcycle in front, and soon after, it also caught up with the two off-road vehicles.

The armored vehicle rapidly approached the off-road vehicle, and Caesar could even see the driver's pale face through the rearview mirror.

Caesar grinned and gestured with his chin toward Mor, who was driving: "Move closer."

"Damn it!" While driving at high speed, Mole made a slight turn of the steering wheel and crashed directly into the SUV.

With a bang, both the off-road vehicle and the armored vehicle shook simultaneously.

The armored vehicle, being large, adjusted quickly. The off-road vehicle, however, swayed back and forth, barely managing to maintain stability.

"Keep crashing!"

Upon hearing Caesar's order, Moore used the front of his armored vehicle to ram the rear of the off-road vehicle, executing an American-style stop.

The rear of the SUV shook violently, causing the entire vehicle to sway until it completely overturned and rolled across the road like a raging bull.

Finally, it crashed into the woods by the roadside.

Caesar leaned out and shouted at the other armored vehicle, "You stay here, leave no survivors."

The other armored vehicle immediately slowed down and headed towards the off-road vehicle that had just rolled over.

Seeing their companion's car overturn, the other SUV seemed noticeably more agitated.

Once Moore approaches in his armored vehicle, the off-road vehicles either accelerate or quickly swerve to avoid him.

Several times, even the armored vehicle couldn't get close to the off-road vehicle.

Before Caesar could come up with a solution, Daryl rode his motorcycle forward, leaning low to the ground.

Approaching the SUV, Daryl pulled out his pistol and fired shots at the driver's seat.

After a few shots, you could see a lot of blood splattered on the interior of the SUV.

Suddenly, the driver of the SUV stretched out his arm and fired a shot in anger.

"Go to hell, you bastard!"
