The Cinnabar Mole of a Beijing Circle Tycoon
Chapter 195 New Parents
As the days went by, Shen Qingyao's health gradually recovered, and the two little ones grew more and more adorable.
Meng Shiyan is becoming more and more mischievous. He is almost never quiet when he is awake. He likes to kick his legs, grab things, and shout loudly. He is as energetic as a little sun.
When the nanny holds him, he will wriggle restlessly, looking around with his little head full of curiosity.
Meng Shiyi remained quiet and gentle, preferring to lie still, watch the sunlight outside the window, and enjoy watching her brother's antics. Occasionally, she would be amused by her brother's actions and let out a soft, clear, and pleasant laugh.
She rarely cries or fusses; she only makes soft whimpering sounds when she's hungry or wet, which makes her so adorable that it evokes tenderness in people.
Shen Qingyao was finally able to get out of bed and walk around. Wearing soft pajamas, she slowly walked to the crib with Meng Jiangyu's help, looked at the two adorable children, and gently stroked their soft little faces.
When Meng Shiyan felt his mother's touch, he immediately grabbed her fingers and shook them vigorously. He brought his little mouth close, wanting to kiss her, and his saliva smeared all over her hand, making Shen Qingyao laugh non-stop.
Meng Shiyi gently rubbed her fingertips, her eyes curving into crescent moons, quiet and dependent.
Meng Jiangyu gently hugged Shen Qingyao from behind, resting his chin on the top of her head. He looked tenderly at his children and whispered, "Wife, look, how adorable our Shiyan and Shiyi are."
Shen Qingyao leaned against him, listening to his steady heartbeat, feeling his warm embrace, and looking at the two children in front of her. Her nose tingled slightly, but her eyes were full of happy smiles.
"Mmm," she responded softly, her voice gentle yet firm, "Honey, thank you for giving me such a wonderful home and such wonderful children."
Meng Jiangyu tightened his arms, holding her even closer, and whispered in her ear, his voice tender and affectionate: "I am the one who should say thank you, Qingyao. It is you who have given me this peaceful and prosperous world."
The snow outside the window has long since melted, and the spring breeze gently sweeps through the courtyard, bringing with it the breath of revival for all things.
Time always seems to pass by exceptionally quickly in the gentle warmth of everyday life, like melting snow in early spring, dripping down the eaves, and before you know it, several years have flowed by.
The two little ones who were once adorable babies in their swaddling clothes are now taking their first wobbly steps, calling out "Papa" and "Mama" in their baby voices, and stumbling around chasing after the family's plush toys. They have become the two most vibrant and lively sights in the Meng family.
My older brother, Meng Shiyan, has boundless energy that seems inexhaustible. He couldn't stay still as soon as he learned to walk. His short legs kick so fast that he jumps and leaps around the house, flipping toys, climbing on the sofa, and chasing after the family's pet cat. He has a clear voice and laughs loudly. He's just like a mischievous little monkey who never stops.
The younger sister, Meng Shiyi, remained quiet, like a soft little cotton ball. She walked slowly and spoke softly, always quietly following behind her brother. When her brother ran far away, she would stand still and gently call out, "Brother, wait for Yiyi."
One still, one moving; one noisy, one gentle.
Meng Jiangyu and Shen Qingyao never missed a single important moment of their child's life.
For the first time, Meng Shiyan let go of his parents' hand and took his first steps independently. Meng Jiangyu canceled the international video conference, squatted on the living room carpet, opened his arms, his eyes filled with tension and anticipation. As he watched the little boy wobble into his arms, he excitedly picked up his son and spun him around several times, making Meng Shiyan laugh heartily.
When Meng Shiyi clearly called out "Mommy" for the first time, Shen Qingyao was squatting on the ground tidying up her little dress. The soft "Mommy" hit her ears, and her eyes instantly welled up with tears. She hugged her daughter tightly and kissed her again and again.
The first time the child ate with a spoon by himself, getting rice grains all over his face; the first time he drew a crooked family; the first time he performed on stage at kindergarten... All the little things that others might consider insignificant are precious moments that Meng Jiangyu and Shen Qingyao should take seriously.
No matter how busy Meng Jiangyu was, he would always make time for Shi Yan and Shi Yi, and Shen Qingyao accompanied them throughout the process. Together, they witnessed every step of Shi Yan and Shi Yi's growth.
The Meng family's daily life is always warm and lively.
As soon as the morning sun streamed into the balcony, Meng Shiyan jumped out of bed, full of energy, and ran to the master bedroom door, banging on it with his chubby little hands: "Daddy! Mommy! Get up! The sun's already high in the sky!"
Meng Shiyi, holding her little rabbit doll, followed slowly behind and whispered, "Mommy, Yiyi is hungry."
As soon as the door opened, the two little ones rushed into Shen Qingyao's arms. Shen Qingyao bent down and picked up her well-behaved daughter, while Meng Jiangyu reached out and scooped up his mischievous son, hoisting him onto his shoulders.
Meng Shiyan waved her little hands excitedly, directing her father to walk towards the restaurant. Meng Shiyi leaned against her mother's chest, gently touching her mother's hair with her little hands, quietly enjoying the embrace.
At the breakfast table, Meng Shiyan fidgeted restlessly, sometimes putting small bread rolls on her mother's plate, sometimes snatching milk from her father's cup, chattering incessantly.
Meng Shiyi ate her egg in small bites, glancing up at her boisterous brother every now and then, her eyes curving into sweet little crescents.
Shen Qingyao looked at the one adult and two children in front of her, her eyes overflowing with tenderness.
Meng Jiangyu's gaze was always fixed on Shen Qingyao. Even though they had been married for many years and their children were already running around, the way he looked at her was still the same as when they first met, and the same deep affection that had settled with the years.
In his eyes, Shen Qingyao will always be the girl he needs to cherish and protect, a treasure he will protect for the rest of his life.
Since Shi Yan and Shi Yi started running and jumping and became more articulate, going back to the old house has become an unwavering weekly routine.
Grandma Meng is in good health and full of energy. She looks forward to her children coming home every day. In her words, "Having these two little darlings at home makes me happier than any delicacy or jewels."
Meng Shiyan sat in a child safety seat, his short legs swinging back and forth, clutching a toy race car in his hand, his mouth never stopping.
Meng Shiyi, standing quietly to the side, hugged her white rabbit doll, her little head resting against the car window, her long eyelashes like two small fans.
As Meng Jiangyu gripped the steering wheel, he looked at his two children, so well-behaved and adorable, in the rearview mirror, and the smile on his lips never faded.
The car came to a smooth stop in front of the old house. Meng Jiangyu got out first, went around to the back seat and carried his daughter out. Shen Qingyao held her bouncy son's hand. The family of four had just reached the courtyard gate when they heard the great-grandmother's hearty laughter from inside the house.
"Is that my great-granddaughter coming back?!"
As soon as the door opened, my great-grandmother, with her white hair but still vigorous spirit, came to greet me, followed by my grandmother, her eyes gentle.
Meng Shiyan immediately broke free from Shen Qingyao's hand, her short legs carrying her swiftly as she ran into her great-grandmother's arms. Looking up at her with her little face, she cried out in a childish voice, "Great-Grandma! Shiyan missed you so much!"
"Oh, my little darling." Great-Grandma's eyes narrowed into slits with laughter as she kissed his soft little face again and again. "Great-Grandma misses Shiyan too. Come on, let Great-Grandma see, haven't you grown taller again?"
Meng Shiyi walked up to her grandmother and gently tugged at her grandmother's clothes with her little hand: "Grandma."
The voice was as soft as cotton candy, and Grandma's heart melted instantly. She immediately bent down, picked up her quiet and well-behaved granddaughter, and kissed her forehead: "Our Yiyi is so good. Grandma missed you so much."
A house full of people walked into the living room, and the nanny immediately served the prepared fruits, snacks, and children's favorite treats.
Meng Shiyan lay on her great-grandmother's lap, her little mouth as sweet as honey, reciting all the nursery rhymes and stories she had learned in kindergarten, and occasionally making a funny face, making her great-grandmother laugh so hard she slapped her thigh.
"Great-Grandma, let me tell you, the little ducks at our kindergarten quack, and I can even imitate them!"
After saying that, the little guy immediately tilted his head back and made a few "ga ga ga" sounds in a high-pitched voice, looking both funny and cute. Great-Grandma laughed until tears almost came to her eyes, praising him repeatedly, "Our Shiyan is so clever, he imitated it so well!"
Grandma held Meng Shiyi in her arms, sitting to the side watching her boisterous grandson, then looking down at her quiet granddaughter in her arms, her heart filled with joy.
Unlike her brother, Shi Yi is not talkative or playful, but she is best at using small gestures to make people happy.
She would reach out her little hand and gently touch her grandmother's cheek, offer her favorite strawberries to her grandmother's lips, and quietly lean against her grandmother's chest, listening to her grandmother talk and nodding from time to time.
Meng Jiangyu and Shen Qingyao sat to the side, looking at the heartwarming scene before them, and smiled at each other.
Shen Qingyao leaned on Meng Jiangyu's shoulder and said softly, "Look, Shi Yan and Shi Yi are so good at making the elders happy. With them around, the house is always so lively."
Meng Jiangyu reached out and put his arm around his wife's waist, his fingertips gently stroking her hair, his eyes full of tenderness: "Like you, you're lovable wherever you go."
