Chapter 23 The Vibrant Florist Owner
A sea of roses stretches out, creating a romantic floral display; pink, red, and gradient blue hues shimmer like an overturned palette under the sunlight.
Strings of balloons floated in the air, swaying gently in the breeze. In the distance, ribbons were tied to flower stands, from which hung photos of her and Lu Yan.
There are pictures of her puffing out her cheeks while eating scones, of him lowering his head to kiss the corner of her lips, and of the two embracing on the dance floor.
"This..." Liu Yunshu turned to look at Zhou Mingyu, her eyes full of doubt.
Zhou Mingyu smiled and pointed deeper into the sea of flowers: "Go on, someone is waiting for you."
Liu Yunshu hesitated before walking forward. The stone path beneath her feet was lined with sunflowers, all of them her favorite bright yellow.
As she walked to the center of the flower field, Lu Yan was standing there, holding a bouquet wrapped with red roses and baby's breath. When he saw her, his eyes lit up instantly.
He walked towards her step by step, his leather shoes making a soft sound on the grass.
Shen Yi and the others around him held their breath; even the wind seemed to stop.
Lu Yan stopped in front of her, knelt on one knee, looked up at her, and his voice trembled slightly.
"Yun Shu, from the first time I saw you at the airport, I knew I was doomed. Yun Fan was standing next to you then, and I mistook him for your boyfriend. I thought I would never have a chance."
Upon hearing this, Liu Yunfan, who arrived later, teased, "Brother-in-law! Your eyesight isn't very good!"
Shen Yi and the others burst into laughter.
Lu Yan glanced helplessly in Liu Yunfan's direction, then quickly pulled his gaze back to Liu Yunshu's face, his seriousness undiminished: "Later, I saw you again at the bar and saved you, and we..." As he said this, a blush rose on Lu Yan's face.
"Details! We want to hear the details!" Shen Yi and the others chimed in from the sidelines.
Lu Yan's ears turned even redder, but he ignored the commotion and stared intently at Liu Yunshu, his voice becoming more and more solemn: "From that day on, I knew that you were the one for me in this life."
He held up the bouquet in his hand; the red roses against the backdrop of baby's breath were elegant and gentle, much like the look in his eyes at that moment.
"I know I can be a bit domineering and tongue-tied sometimes," Lu Yan said, his fingertips tightening slightly and his palms sweating.
"But I promise that for the rest of my life, all my tenderness and affection will be reserved for you alone."
A breeze swept through the sea of flowers, and the rose petals trembled gently, as if accompanying his words.
Liu Yunshu looked at the man kneeling on one knee. He was usually calm and composed, but at this moment there was obvious unease in his eyes, and even his Adam's apple was bobbing slightly.
He took a deep breath, pulled the velvet box from his pocket, and when he opened it, the diamond ring's brilliance refracted the sunlight into tiny fragments, like crushed stars.
"So, Miss Liu, would you be willing to give me a chance to be your Mr. Lu for life?"
Liu Yunshu crouched down to look him in the eye, her eyes glistening with tears, but a smile played on her lips: "Lu Yan, you just said that all your tenderness and favoritism are only for me?"
"Yes." Lu Yan's voice was a little hoarse, but unusually firm. "In this life, it's only for you."
"What if we argue later?" she teased him deliberately.
"I apologize," he answered without hesitation. "No matter who's at fault, it's all my fault."
Soft laughter rippled through the crowd. Liu Yunfan, watching from the side, couldn't help but chuckle. He called out loudly, "Sister! For the sake of your brother-in-law's high level of understanding, just give in!"
The crowd clamored, "Say yes! Say yes!"
Lu Yan glared at Liu Yunfan and the others, but then immediately looked nervously at Liu Yunshu, afraid that her mood would be ruined.
Liu Yunshu laughed until tears streamed down her face. She raised her hand to wipe her eyes, her fingertips gently tracing his tense jawline: "Then... what if I want to eat a strawberry cake at three in the morning?"
"I'll go buy it, or learn how to make it." Lu Yan's voice grew even gentler. "Even if it rains knives from the sky, I'll get them for you."
His gaze was so earnest, as if he were holding the most precious treasure in the world. Liu Yunshu's heart felt as if it had been gently bumped by something, both sour and tender.
She sniffed, deliberately putting on a serious face: "Then... what if I change my mind?"
Lu Yan's pupils contracted, the light in his eyes dimmed instantly, and his hand holding the ring box trembled slightly, but he still forced a smile: "Then I will... pursue you again, until you don't regret it."
"Silly boy." Liu Yunshu finally couldn't hold back anymore, reached out and pulled him up, throwing herself into his arms, her voice thick with a nasal tone, "I'm willing."
The three words, though light and airy, flowed through Lu Yan's body like a warm current.
He was stunned for a few seconds before he reacted and suddenly hugged her tightly.
"Say it again?" His voice was terribly hoarse, filled with unbelievable ecstasy.
Liu Yunshu snuggled against him, burying her face in the collar of his floral-scented shirt: "I said, I'm willing to be your Miss Liu for the rest of my life."
Lu Yan tightened his grip on her, as if trying to embed her into his life.
He lowered his head and placed a burning kiss on the top of her head, his voice trembling uncontrollably. "Thank you, Yunshu, thank you..."
The surrounding cheers and applause, mixed with the sound of the wind blowing through the sea of flowers, were like a noisy yet gentle song.
Shen Yi and the others tossed the balloons in their hands, and the colorful balloons soared into the air, drawing beautiful arcs against the azure sky.
Liu Yunfan smiled and wiped the corner of his eye, glancing in Zhou Mingyu's direction. Zhou Mingyu was standing at the edge of the flower field, holding a sunflower in his hand, a relieved smile on his lips.
Well, Zhou Ge isn't bad either. I hope he can be happy in the future.
Lu Yan finally loosened his grip a little, but still held her hand tightly, carefully slipping the diamond ring onto her ring finger.
The ring's cool touch contrasted sharply with the warmth of his palm, yet strangely reassuring.
He looked down at the ring that shimmered in the sunlight, then looked up into her smiling eyes. His Adam's apple bobbed, and all the words he wanted to say finally condensed into a low, hoarse whisper: "From now on, you're mine."
Liu Yunshu shook her hand adorned with a ring, the brilliance of the diamond reflected in her eyes, shining like a shower of starlight.
She tiptoed and gently kissed his lips, her voice as soft as cotton candy: "Mmm, it's yours."
Shen Yi ran over, phone in hand, excitedly shouting, "Quick, quick, Brother Lu, Miss Liu, let's take a picture together! This is a historic moment!"
Lu Yan naturally put his arm around Liu Yunshu's shoulder, letting her lean against him, and smiled at the camera.
Liu Yunshu turned her head to look at him. The sunlight fell on his well-defined profile, making even his slightly reddened ears look exceptionally gentle.
She couldn't help but reach out and gently pinch his cheek with her fingertips, which he grasped in return, their fingers intertwined tightly.
In the photo, the sea of flowers is vibrant, balloons soar high, and the man looks down at the woman in his arms, his eyes overflowing with tenderness. The woman looks up at him, her smile brighter than the sunshine.
Zhou Mingyu quietly turned around and placed the sunflower on the stone table next to him, as if he had put down a carefully kept secret.
He opened the car door, and in the rearview mirror, the two figures embracing each other were particularly dazzling in the sea of flowers.
He started the car, a faint smile playing on his lips. Perhaps, seeing her happy was another kind of fulfillment.

A glass house overlooking the lake.
As soon as Liu Yunshu got out of the car, Lu Yan pressed her against the car door and kissed her with an urgent, irresistible force, carrying with him the elation of her successful marriage proposal and the lingering fear from her earlier jokes.
His arms were wrapped tightly around her waist, pressing her firmly against the car door, as if only in this way could he confirm that the person in his arms was real and truly belonged to him.
Liu Yunshu was a little breathless from his kiss. She gently pushed against his chest with her fingertips, but he grabbed her palm and pressed her against the car door.
His kiss gradually softened from urgent to gentle, his tongue tracing the smile on her lips before gently withdrawing.
With his forehead pressed against hers, their breaths mingling, he could see the turbulent emotions surging in his eyes.
"When you said you wanted to back out just now, my heart almost stopped." Lu Yan's voice was still trembling slightly as his fingertips caressed her lips, which were red from being kissed. "Don't say things like that again."
Seeing the lingering fear in his eyes, Liu Yunshu's heart melted. She leaned over and kissed him on the lips: "Silly boy, Liu Yunshu came here for Lu Yan."
As she spoke, she took his hand and touched her face, saying, "This is Lu Yan's."
Then she touched her lips again, "This belongs to Lu Yan."
Gradually downwards, "This is Lu Yan's."
Lu Yan's breath hitched. The skin beneath his palm was delicate and warm, and a current seemed to surge through his limbs and bones.
His Adam's apple bobbed, and his low, husky voice was filled with burning desire: "Yun Shu..."
Liu Yunshu chuckled softly, "This place... also belongs to Lu Yan."
Lu Yan gasped sharply, the tenderness in his eyes instantly replaced by surging desire.
He scooped Liu Yunshu up in his arms, his arm muscles taut, and strode toward the glass house.
With a "bang," he slammed the door shut with his foot, his warm palms impatiently tearing open the buttons of her cheongsam, his movements a little clumsy and eager.
Liu Yunshu wrapped her arms around his neck, her fingertips tracing the line of his taut jaw, and chuckled softly, "Don't rush..."
His words were swallowed up in a deeper kiss.
He placed her on the soft carpeted floor, where the shimmering lake outside the window reflected the flowing light and shadows inside.
His kiss slid from the corner of her lips, brushed across her delicate neck, and stopped at her collarbone, leaving a light mark.
"They're all mine," he repeated in a low, husky voice, his fingertips tracing the exquisite curves beneath her cheongsam. The coolness of the silk intertwined with the heat of his palm, causing her to tremble slightly.
One by one, the buttons were unfastened, revealing fair skin, like moonlight flowing across a lake, creating delicate ripples.
