The Witch's Wandering Alchemist's Diary
Chapter 69 Dry Claw Walker!
"From other places?"
Dwight was startled: "Could there be other dungeons in the Ghostwood Forest?"
Farin thought for a moment and said, "Teacher, these kobolds are probably not from the Ghostwood Forest. They're from somewhere much farther away."
"The kobolds in the Darkwood Forest have dirty, yellowish-brown fur, but these kobolds are a startlingly fiery red."
"Therefore, these kobolds are definitely not native kobolds."
Upon hearing Farin's words, Dwight frowned deeply.
"So, how's the situation now?"
"The teacher's situation is strange. Those kobolds didn't kill anyone. They just drove the adventurers away."
"Um?"
Dwight frowned deeply. "Is that all?"
"They've even started setting up camp near the dungeon," Farin said. "The adventurers don't know what to do now, and morale is low, Master. If we don't deal with this quickly, it will definitely affect the sales of Elf Ropes."
"Even the creation of spellbooks."
Dwight thought for a moment and said, "Get on the horse, let's go."
He got his things, wrapped the medicine belt around his waist, and immediately went downstairs.
Summon the bone horse, then ride it quickly towards the dungeon.
Farin could only pull out three horses and constantly switch riders to maintain his speed. The other mage apprentices did the same.
Now that they are wealthy, they know that such use of horses can lead to injury.
But now, they don't care anymore.
That dungeon is related to everything in the future!
Near the dungeon, adventurers huddled together, gazing at the busy kobolds in the distance.
"Sigh, what's wrong with this kobold?"
An adventurer sighed and said, "We were just about to start living a good life, but suddenly so many kobolds have appeared! And they even know magic."
His words resonated with many adventurers, and that's right.
That's right, life is just getting better!
"Hmph, I think it's good that these kobolds have arrived."
Another adventurer said, "Haven't you heard about the plague? There's a plague here, and many of our old brothers have been infected; branches are growing all over their bodies!"
"So what if it grows branches?" another adventurer said. "Just cut them off, they're not in the way anyway. It's not like we can't survive, in fact, it's better that it has branches."
"It saved a lot of firewood!"
Many adventurers burst into laughter: "Being broke is worse than a plague!"
These adventurers also discovered a pattern among these kobolds: as long as they didn't venture near the dungeon, they wouldn't be attacked.
After watching the excitement for a while, the adventurers lost their will to fight.
After all, it will be fine once the mages arrive.
Why should I work so hard and suffer?
Dwight was the first to arrive; his apprentices arrived a little later, but they all made it.
The adventurers immediately fell silent, too terrified to say anything more.
Dwight ignored them and led his apprentices straight toward the kobold camp.
The lesser mage armor on the mage apprentices had all risen up, and even the living ropes were rising from their bodies like snakes.
"Teacher, what should we do?"
A mage apprentice asked in a low voice.
"Destroy this camp."
Dwight replied indifferently, "A mere bunch of kobolds dare to swagger in front of us and invade our territory."
"Use your fire magic to set these camps ablaze."
After giving the order, Dwight began chanting incantations and summoning magic.
The surrounding fire elements began to surge.
The adventurers stared wide-eyed, eager to get a good look at the spell.
However, at this moment, the camp gates were opened.
An aged kobold emerged, along with several red-haired kobold warriors. There was also a person dressed in a black robe.
Dwight narrowed his eyes instantly and canceled the spell in his hand.
"Greetings, sir mage of Ghostwood. I, Dryclaw Walker, extend my greetings."
The kobold, holding his staff, knelt on the ground.
Dwight glanced at Walker and said dismissively, "Kobolds? They have names too."
Walker said humbly, "We are not kobolds, but a subspecies of orcs. Orcs have their own names, a right bestowed upon them by the gods."
This remark immediately made Dwight laugh. He was flipping through a spellbook in his hand: "Tell me? What race did you take the cover from?"
The kobolds behind Walker immediately roared.
But Walker humbly replied, "It's probably monster skin. I've heard other mages say that spellbooks are made from monster skin."
"Oh? Aren't you and it of the same race?"
Dwight humiliated Walker.
"Walker is a subspecies of beastman, not a monster," Walker said. "So how could this book possibly be of the same race as Walker?"
Dwight narrowed his eyes: "I don't believe you unless you can prove it to me."
Without the slightest hesitation, Walker lowered its head and bit its own arm, tearing off a large chunk of skin with a single forceful tug.
It was bloody, and blood was still dripping from it.
"Master mage, this is my skin. You can compare it; I am indeed not of the same race as the book in your hand."
He handed the piece of skin to a kobold next to him, who then passed it on to Dwight.
The kobold, clutching the fur, strode quickly toward Dwight.
However, Farin immediately stopped the kobold.
He took the fur and handed it to Dwight: "Teacher."
Dwight merely glanced coldly at Farin and refused to take the fur.
Farin paused for a moment, then immediately used the activated rope to strangle the kobold warrior.
In this way, Dwight took over the veneer.
He glanced at it casually: "It looks like animal fur."
Walker immediately said, "Thank you for your discerning eye, Master. How can a piece of animal fur become a spellbook?"
Dwight's murderous intent grew stronger as he stared at the kobold in front of him.
He desperately wanted to kill the kobold immediately, and his subconscious thought was that if he didn't kill it today, it might cause him a lot of trouble later.
However, the magical power emanating from the black-robed man made Dwight very wary.
The reason for humiliating this dog-headed man was to test what this black-robed man really was.
But Walker was just too patient, and Dwight had no reason to lose his temper.
He could only look at the man in black robes and say, "You are clearly a spellcaster, so why are you mixing with kobolds?"
