Tiger, I rejected the iron rice bowl.

Chapter 12 A Battle of Wits and Courage

Tang Li paused for two seconds, then suddenly realized: "You want to eat the jerky I made?"

"Awoo!" Wang Yuyu nodded vigorously, his tiger mouth widening even further, even the downy hair behind his ears seemed excited.

Tang Li fell silent!

Wang Weiguo and Fan Zhengcheng on the other end of the phone also fell silent.

Fan Zhengcheng stroked his chin, his eyes filled with curiosity: "Uncle Wang, you've raised tigers for so many years, have you ever seen such a smart tiger?"

Wang Weiguo gave a wry smile, shook his head, and sighed, "I've never even heard of it, let alone seen it."

"This isn't a tiger, it's a spirit!"

He shouted into the phone, "Xiao Tang, hold it steady! I'll have someone send the jerky in, be very careful!"

"Okay, I understand, Director!"

Tang Li hung up the phone, waved her phone at Wang Yuyu, and said irritably, "Are you satisfied now? The headmaster sent someone to deliver some dried meat."

Wang Yuyu immediately stood up, moved her massive body aside to make way for the door, and wagged her tail towards the door as if urging her to "go and come back quickly."

Tang Li looked at the "green channel" and her mind was filled with doubts.

She walked towards the door, her steps quickening until she was almost running. Her intuition told her that the tiger was definitely up to no good.

Sure enough, just as she reached the kitchen door, she heard thumping footsteps behind her.

Tang Li turned around abruptly and saw Wang Yuyu following behind, his massive body almost blocking the doorway.

He tilted his head and gently nudged her back with it, his eyes full of confusion, as if to say, "Come on, come on, why are you stopping? The jerky is right outside!"

"Why are you following me?"

Tang Li gritted her teeth and turned back, cursing inwardly, "This tiger is too clever! If it weren't for the medical report, I'd really suspect he's a tiger in disguise!"

Wang Yu stared at her defiantly.

"Do you think I'm stupid? If you go out and don't come back, who's going to bring me jerky?"

"Of course I'll stay with you! Let's go!"

He snorted softly, his tail brushing against Tang Li's ankle, carrying a warning that said, "I'm watching you."

Then, he gently nudged her buttocks with his tiger head, controlling the force just right, urging her to walk without making her stumble.

The two walked side by side in this strange way. Tang Li couldn't help but turn around after taking a few steps, afraid that this "ancestor" behind her would suddenly cause trouble.

Wang Yuyu focused most of his attention on his surroundings. On the second floor of the cafeteria and behind the windows, those faint gazes felt like needles pricking him. He knew all too well that they were the eyes of snipers.

"Report number 1: Target is very close to personnel, no firing window! Over!"

"Report from point 2: Angle completely obstructed, unable to lock on! Over!"

"Report number 3: Target is very close to personnel, no firing window! Over!"

Inside the command vehicle, reports came incessantly from the walkie-talkies.

Fan Zhengcheng stared at the overlapping shadows on the monitor, tapping his fingers lightly on his knees, and said in a deep voice, "All teams, stand by. No firing without permission! Follow my orders!"

He put down the walkie-talkie and looked at Wang Weiguo, who was frowning. "Uncle Wang, this tiger is very cunning. It's using Xiao Tang as a mobile shield. We can't force it."

Wang Weiguo rubbed his throbbing temples, staring at the tiger's shadow circling Tang Li on the screen: "I heard everything. Let's think of other ways! We can't just keep dragging this on!"

Fan Zhengcheng's gaze darkened, and he pointed to the surveillance footage of Wang Yuyu staring at the bag of dried meat and swallowing hard: "Why don't we let Xiao Tang talk to this tiger? I think he's quite intelligent; maybe if we can persuade him, he'll leave on his own!"

Wang Weiguo was silent for a moment, then slowly nodded. "Alright, I'll message Xiao Tang and tell her to give it a try!"

He immediately took out his phone and slowly began to edit the message.

At that moment, Tang Li was walking back from the cafeteria entrance carrying two large bags. One bag contained her specially made beef jerky, and the other contained freshly cut pork.

Wang Yuyu stared intently, circling around her, its tail wagging like a rattle drum, and several times it couldn't resist opening its mouth, wanting to nibble on the fleshy pouch.

"Don't bite!" Tang Li reacted quickly, lifting her foot to gently kick his chin and push his head to the side. "If you bite through the bag, clean it up yourself! This is enough for you, what's the rush!"

Wang Yuyu let out a pitiful sob, her amber eyes filled with longing, but she obediently shut her mouth.

He deliberately moved closer to Tang Li, almost touching her body.

He knew that the closer he got to these "tiger women," the less likely those gun barrels in the shadows would dare to move.

Without this "protection," he would either be knocked out by a tranquilizer gun and sent back to the wilderness, or he would suffer an even worse fate, losing his "iron rice bowl."

But whenever he gets close, Tang Li assumes he's trying to steal food and kicks him away.

The man and the tiger returned to the kitchen, playfully bickering. As soon as they stepped over the threshold, Wang Yuyu's earlier caution vanished.

He turned around and pounced on the iron basin for washing vegetables in the corner. He pushed the basin with his tiger paws and ran to Tang Li with a "clang, clang" sound. Then he raised his head and tapped the rim of the basin with his paws, the words "hurry up and pour in the meat" practically overflowing from his eyes.

"Even a starving ghost reincarnated wouldn't act like this." Tang Li rolled her eyes, but still deftly untied the bag.

As soon as the beef jerky was poured into the iron basin, Wang Yuyu plunged in headfirst, his mouth wide open, chewing the jerky with a crunching sound, meat scraps splattering all over his face.

He ate too quickly, and his large body arched forward, pushing Tang Li back three steps, almost causing her to bump into the stove.

"Didn't you eat while you were in the wild?"

"You better behave yourself!"

Tang Li's temper flared up too. She walked over and punched him on the head, saying, "Don't you know it's shameful to waste food?"

"Eat your food properly! Don't make a mess everywhere!"

Wang Yuyu suddenly raised her head, her amber eyes filled with dissatisfaction, and let out a low growl as if in protest.

But he didn't actually get angry. He just moved aside, turning his round rear end towards Tang Li, deliberately wagging his tail in front of her face, clearly saying, "Woman, don't bother me while I'm eating!"

"Hey, are you still throwing a tantrum at me?" Tang Li was amused and couldn't help but reach out to grab the tiger's tail that was swaying back and forth.

But Wang Yuyu seemed to have eyes in the back of her head; with a flick of her tail, she always managed to avoid her hand.

After missing several times, Tang Li got excited and stretched out both hands, pouncing on the tiger's tail like a cat grabbing a cat toy.

Her fingertips almost touched the tip of Wang Yuyu's fluffy tail; the downy fur shimmered with a pale yellow luster under the light, looking and feeling wonderful to the touch.

But at this critical moment, her phone suddenly started vibrating in her pocket, abruptly interrupting her actions.

"What a disappointment!" she muttered as she withdrew her hand. Just as she pulled out her phone, the tiger-like shadow suddenly loomed closer.
