Tiger, I rejected the iron rice bowl.

Chapter 66 Sending the Tiger Back to the Mountain

Tang Li closed the tent door, squatted down, and gently stroked Wang Yuyu's fur with her palm, her tone slightly aggrieved: "All you care about is eating. We're leaving soon, don't you feel anything?"

Wang Yu raised his flesh-covered head, gently rubbed his furry cheek against Tang Li's arm, and let out a soft, soothing growl.

Then he lowered his head again and continued to eat.

Seeing his reaction, Tang Li instantly burst into laughter through her tears, her eyes slightly red: "At least you have a conscience, you still know how to comfort me!"

She started nagging again, "Let me tell you, when you go back to the mountains, you must go north. Don't be like a shut-in, just guarding your own little patch of land."

"You're all grown up now, it's time to find a wife and have kids, you know?"

"Your Siberian tiger population is so small, you'd better step up your efforts and help them multiply. We're all counting on you!"

Listening to Tang Li's endless urging for marriage, Wang Yuyu couldn't help but roll his eyes and mutter to himself: Damn it, I'm only three years old, barely an adult, and you're already urging me to get married!

Are you trying to kill the tiger?!

What's more important than finding a wife? A good meal is more important.

Tang Li, however, was completely unaware of his thoughts and continued to chatter on and on, from the importance of finding a wife to the precautions for raising tiger cubs, like a worried old mother.

A dozen minutes later, Wang Yuyu had finished both bowls of meat.

Tang Li took out a tissue from her pocket and carefully wiped the bits of meat and oil from the corners of his mouth. She then kissed his furry tiger head several times before reluctantly standing up and lifting the tent flap.

"Let's go, you've eaten your fill, it's time for you to go back to the mountains." Her voice trembled slightly.

Wang Yu looked at Tang Li's reddened eyes, her bright eyes glistening with tears, as if she was about to cry at any moment.

He walked gently to her side, stretched out his paws and hugged her thigh tightly, nuzzling her head against her, as if to comfort her, or as if he was reluctant to part with her.

"Okay, stop crying."

Wang Yu thought to herself, "It's not like I'm not coming back. I'll come see you when I patrol the territory and get to the vicinity of the zoo."

Tang Li could no longer hold back. She squatted down, hugged Wang Yuyu's thick neck tightly, buried her face in the soft tiger fur, and tears silently slid down, soaking a patch of tiger fur.

"You absolutely must come see me, you have a secure job! Don't forget about me!"

"Be careful on the road. There might be traps set by poachers in the woods. Be very careful not to step on them!"

"If you see a stranger, don't be foolish and rush up to them asking for food. You must be vigilant; they might be bad people, understand?"

"You're worth a fortune now. Someone overseas is offering a million dollars for your life. You must protect yourself and not let the bad guys succeed..."

Wang Yuyu squatted there quietly, letting her hug him, his ears drooping slightly as he listened to her instructions.

When he heard "one million to buy a tiger's life," a hint of disdain flashed in his amber eyes.

You want my tiger life?

You have to be alive to enjoy it!

If you're so capable, come at me unarmed and see who takes whose life!

After crying for a while, Tang Li slowly calmed down, wiped away her tears, sniffed, and lifted the tent flap again, her voice still trembling with tears: "Let's go, it's getting late, you should leave."

"Roar!" Wang Yu roared softly, as if in response, or perhaps as farewell.

He slowly turned around, took heavy steps, and walked out of the tent.

Upon hearing the tiger's roar, everyone in the camp poked their heads out of their tents.

When everyone saw Wang Yu walking slowly through the camp, followed by Tang Li, they understood that they were sending the tiger back to the mountain.

Everyone watched quietly, no one spoke, their eyes filled with reluctance.

Actually, they really like Wang Yuyu. After all, who wouldn't like such a fluffy big cat that doesn't hurt people?

As they left the camp and stepped onto the path leading into the mountains, Wang Yuyu suddenly stopped, turned around, gave Tang Li a deep look, and let out another low growl, as if saying "goodbye."

Tang Li fought back tears, waved her hand forcefully, and said in a choked voice, "You have to be careful with your secure job!"

Wang Yuyu nodded, then suddenly turned around, exerted force with all four limbs, and started running wildly in the snow.

A yellow and black figure flashed across the vast white snow, disappearing into the dark depths of the forest in just a few seconds, leaving only a series of tiger claw prints of varying depths.

Tang Li stood there, gazing in the direction where Wang Yuyu had disappeared, lost in thought for a long time. The cold wind brushed her cheeks, drying the remaining tear stains, but it could not dispel the reluctance in her heart.

Everyone in the camp silently gazed in that direction. The forest returned to silence, with only the rustling of the wind through the treetops as if providing accompaniment for this farewell.

Deep in the mountains, Wang Yu ran for a while, then gradually slowed down and leisurely followed the familiar patrol route.

The cool moonlight filtered through the sparse treetops, casting dappled shadows on the snow. Fine snowflakes drifted in the air, settling on his yellow and black fur, quickly accumulating into a thin layer, like a semi-transparent white veil draped over the giant beast.

The imposing aura emanating from him, like an invisible barrier, spread outwards.

All the creatures in the mountains and forests, whether squirrels foraging in the snow or birds perched on branches, fell silent and fled as soon as they sensed this presence. They either burrowed into snow caves or flapped their wings and fled into the distance. No one dared to provoke this predator standing at the top of the food chain.

In the silent mountain forest, only Wang Yuyu's steady footsteps and the soft rustling of snowflakes falling on the branches and leaves could be heard.

The night passed quietly, but Wang Yuyu had only completed half of the usual patrol route.

He grew increasingly frustrated as he walked, and couldn't help but curse the Zhang brothers, Zhang Baohai and Zhang Baotian, repeatedly in his mind: "Damn it, I'm exhausted!"

"Those two damned poachers should be dragged out and shot!"

"If it weren't for you guys, my inspection plan wouldn't have been delayed, and I wouldn't have had to walk this lousy road again!"

"We should be deep in the mountains by now, resting comfortably. Damn!"

He shook his head, brushing the snow off, and continued walking, cursing under his breath. "Damn them all! If I ever run into poachers again, I'll break their legs!"

As he was cursing, Wang Yuyu suddenly caught a glimpse of a faint red light on the horizon, a sign of sunrise.

He stopped and looked up at the sky, feeling a sudden emptiness in his stomach.
