Ancient Wizards: A Little Progress Every Day

Chapter 100 Writing the book alone

"Hello there."

Suddenly, a pleasant voice woke Dago from his reverie.

He turned his head to look in the direction from which the sound came and saw that a young and beautiful female wizard had appeared beside him at some point.

With long, straight black hair, bright green eyes, and a white and silver robe that accentuated her wheat-colored skin, she exuded a healthy and vibrant aura.

She emanated the mental energy fluctuations characteristic of a late-stage first-ring wizard.

"Hello there."

Although he didn't know what the other party wanted to do, Dago still responded politely.

"My name is Ginya, and I come from the Silver Tower in the Thorn Ring. I think you also come from the Silver Tower."

The beautiful witch introduced herself to Dargo, then asked, "Are you participating in this trial mission alone?"

Dago nodded.

Ginya quickly got to the point, saying with a smile, "Would you like to team up with us? We already have quite a few people here."

"Genia!"

Before she could finish speaking, someone on deck shouted her name.

A handsome blond youth strode toward them, his gaze sweeping over Dago with intense disdain before speaking to Ginya in a slightly displeased tone.

"What are you doing? I've told you so many times, don't invite other wizards to join, especially lone wizards like this."

The beautiful witch Ginya wanted to say something to Dargo, but she was forcibly dragged away by the blond youth, leaving Dargo with only an apologetic look.

Dago calmly withdrew his gaze and continued watching the scenery rushing past him.

He could tell that most wizards went out to dungeons in groups, and a "lone wolf" like him was a rare sight.

There's a saying from my past life: "Those who live apart from others are either gods or beasts." This applies to the wizarding world as well, but unfortunately, most of them are just beasts.

The airship finally stopped in a scenic forest. The entrance to the "Wet Forest" secret realm was a huge sinkhole.

Dago followed a group of magic ring wizards down into the sinkhole. After passing through a layer of light membrane, they entered a completely different world.

It was dark, damp, and filled with a lingering stench of decay. Just a few steps away was a vast black mud swamp, and further on, a dense, dark jungle.

Before disembarking, Dago received a rudimentary map of "Wet Forest" from the Ring of Law. While he was examining the map with the runestone, the Ring of Law wizards who were traveling with him had already quickly left in twos and threes.

After he finished looking at the entire map, when he looked up again, he was the only one left at the entrance to the damp, dense forest.

Bernal didn't know exactly where the "Flower of Solomon" grew in the Damp Forest, only that it usually grew in places where there were many magical beasts or animals.

Because the Flower of Solomon feeds on the brains of living creatures, and where it grows, there are usually large patches of glowing moss nearby, which is its extraordinary weapon for luring creatures.

"We'll just have to search slowly."

Dago put away the runestone and map, shook his head, and randomly chose a direction to fly away.

Within the dark, twisted forest, violent fluctuations of icy winds emanated continuously.

"Ice Wind Crossblade!"

Dago's body hovered in mid-air, his robes hanging down naturally. The ice sword in his hand continuously unleashed icy wind sword energy, which he threw at a huge purple spider monster that was perched on a strange black tree covered with withered vines.

It was surrounded by silver threads, and countless tiny, round-bellied spiders, probably tens of thousands, surged toward it like a tide, following the ubiquitous silver threads in the air.

Before they could even get close, they were frozen into small lumps of ice by the extreme cold emanating from Dago, which then fell down with a crackling sound. Soon, a thick layer of ice-covered spider corpses had accumulated at his feet.

"Fine Snow Kills the Spear!"

Dago held the Dance of Fine Snow horizontally, aiming the tip at the purple spider monster. His mental power suddenly exploded, and the Dance of Fine Snow sword suddenly extended, accompanied by countless tiny ice crystals and snowflakes flying around.

"Whoosh!!!"

The Ice Sword Dance of Fine Snow stretched out like lightning, almost instantly piercing the giant spider's abdomen, before shrinking back to its original size.

The latter let out a painful and furious hiss, and fear showed in its six purple compound eyes. But before it could turn around and run away, the wound on its belly caused by the dance of fine snow suddenly froze, causing it to cry out in agony.

When the Blade of Fine Snow pierces it and it retracts the sword, some of the activated ice crystals remain inside its body. These ice crystals will gradually explode and freeze its body.

However, this was not enough to kill the spider monster with the strength of the late-stage first ring, but it was enough, as its mobility was restricted by the freezing effect of the activated ice crystals.

"Flame Core Air Bomb!" Dago raised the tip of his sword, and a large amount of air was compressed onto it, quickly forming a fist-sized flame core, like a small sun.

He rarely uses this move in urban combat anymore. Firstly, the charging time is too long, giving the enemy time to dodge or interrupt the charging process. Secondly, the environmental damage is too great; people who don't know him might think he's some kind of evil bomber.

However, now that we're in the wild, we don't have to worry about environmental factors anymore, and we can use this powerful weapon without restraint.

"boom!!!"

The explosion of the Fiery Core created a massive shockwave that pulverized the late-stage purple spider monster. Countless fragments of its body and viscous fluids were ejected and splashed everywhere, only to be evaporated by the ensuing heatwave, leaving a small area scorching hot and reeking of foul odors.

Dago patted his robes, floated into the air, bypassed the huge crater blasted by the spider monster, and entered the cave it guarded. Finally, in a hidden and inconspicuous corner of the cave, he picked a bunch of strange grapes that looked like dozens of eyeballs squeezed together.

Dago examined it carefully for a while. He didn't recognize the potion, but he felt it could be sold for a high price, so he put it into his storage ring.

Emerging from the deep cave, he continued deeper into the twisted jungle.

There are quite a few valuable potions in the Damp Forest. Dago has already obtained three along the way. If he sells them to wizards or potion shops that need them, he can probably earn more than a hundred mid-level magic stones.

After all his spells have been transformed into ultimate forms, and combined with his ice-based spells for crowd control, even without using his soul seal [Winter Star] to unleash the Despairing Frost Domain, his combat power is far stronger than that of a typical mid-stage first-ring wizard.

"After these battles, I've come to realize that even without using the power of my sign domain, I'm not just an ordinary first-ring wizard. I really hope to get my hands on a second-ring magical beast."

Dago sighed softly to himself.

Because Dago's goal is far from being "invincible among his peers"; his potential enemies are all second-ring wizards.
