Han Mu stood by the window of the Temple of Creation, looking at the starry sky outside. His heart was filled with unease. The fall of the Primordial Dao Ancestor made him feel a great sense of responsibility. He had to recover his strength as soon as possible in order to deal with the possible crises in the future.

But Han Mu also knew that haste makes waste. His cultivation had fallen from the peak of the Hongmeng realm to the middle stage, and it would take a long time to recover to the peak. There was no use in rushing it.

"My lord, you should rest." Zhou Meng's voice came from behind.

"Okay, I understand." Han Mu turned around and saw Zhou Meng carrying a bowl of hot soup in. He took the bowl, took a sip, and felt much better as the warm soup flowed down his throat.

"My lord, don't overwork yourself. Your health is the most important thing," Zhou Meng said.

"I know, don't worry, I'll be fine," Han Mu said. After finishing his soup, he handed the bowl to Zhou Meng. "You should get some rest too."

"Alright, my lord, you should also get some rest." Zhou Meng took the bowl and left.

Han Mu lay in bed with his eyes closed, but he couldn't fall asleep. The image of the Hongmeng Dao Ancestor's fall kept flashing through his mind, as well as the greedy eyes of the Chaos Lord. He knew that the Chaos Lord would not let this go and would come looking for trouble sooner or later.

Sure enough, early the next morning, Han Li rushed over to report: "My lord, something bad has happened! The Lord of Chaos has come again, and this time he has brought an accomplice with him."

"Help? Who?" Han Mu asked.

"I don't know, but the aura is very strong, at least at the late stage of the Hongmeng realm," Han Li said.

Han Mu's expression was solemn. He arrived outside the Temple of Creation and saw the Lord of Chaos standing in the void, with an old man in a black robe standing beside him. The old man had a withered face, sinister eyes, and exuded an unsettling aura.

"Han Mu, I'm here again," the Lord of Chaos sneered.

"Lord of Chaos, didn't you suffer enough last time?" Han Mu said coldly.

"Last time it was the Primordial Dao Ancestor who helped you, but now that the Primordial Dao Ancestor is dead, let's see who can help you now," the Lord of Chaos laughed.

"Even without the Primordial Dao Ancestor, I can still deal with you," Han Mu said coldly, looking at the black-robed elder. "Who are you?"

"I am the senior brother of the Lord of Chaos, the Lord of Chaos," the black-robed elder said coldly. "You killed my junior brother, and today I will make you pay for your crime in blood."

"Your junior brother is the Lord of Destruction, he deserves to die," Han Mu said coldly.

"Enough with the nonsense, prepare to die." The Chaos Venerable raised his hand and unleashed a terrifying force towards Han Mu.

Han Mu's expression changed. He could sense that the Chaos Venerable was much stronger than the Chaos Lord, at least at the late stage of the Primordial Chaos realm, and possibly even at the peak of the Primordial Chaos realm. He dared not be careless and activated the Spacetime Compass, narrowly avoiding the palm strike.

However, the Chaos Venerable was too powerful. Although Han Mu avoided the direct attack, the palm wind still injured him, leaving a deep wound on his left shoulder that exposed the bone.

"My lord!" Zhou Meng and the other two were shocked and wanted to rush up to help.

"Don't come any closer!" Han Mu shouted. He knew that Zhou Meng and the other two would only be throwing their lives away if they came, so he had to find a way out himself.

Han Mu gritted his teeth. He knew he was no match for the Chaos Venerable, but he could not back down. Behind him lay the cosmic sea and countless living beings. He had to protect them.

"System, is there any way to defeat the Chaos Venerable?" Han Mu asked in his mind.

"The host can burn the Creation Godhead again, but the host no longer has any Creation Godhead to burn," the system replied.

"Are there any other options?" Han Mu asked.

"The host can try to fuse with the Spacetime Compass, combining its power with their own to temporarily enhance their strength, but the cost will be the destruction of the Spacetime Compass," the system said.

Han Mu looked at the Time-Space Compass in his hand. This treasure had accompanied him for countless years and helped him through countless crises. Now he had to destroy it. He was reluctant, but he had no choice but to do so in order to protect the Cosmic Sea.

"Integrate the spacetime compass," Han Mu said through gritted teeth.

"Are you sure, host?" the system asked.

"I'm sure," Han Mu said firmly.

The spacetime compass transformed into a golden light and merged into Han Mu's body. Han Mu's aura began to surge, breaking through from the mid-stage of the Primordial Chaos to the late-stage, and then from the late-stage to the peak of the Primordial Chaos.

The Chaos Venerable and the Lord of Chaos sensed the change in Han Mu's aura and their expressions changed drastically.

"You actually fused with the Spacetime Compass? You've gone mad!" the Chaos Venerable exclaimed in shock.

"I'm not crazy. I must kill you all today," Han Mu said coldly. He raised his hand and threw a punch that contained the full power of the Time-Space Compass, making it several times stronger than before.

Chaos Venerable's expression turned solemn. It knew it couldn't take this punch head-on and turned to run away. But how could Han Mu let it escape? He activated the Law of Time, and time around it suddenly stopped. Chaos Venerable's figure froze for a moment.

In that instant, Han Mu punched the Chaos Venerable in the back, unleashing terrifying power that pulverized its body into dust, leaving not a trace.

When the Lord of Chaos saw his senior brother being killed, he was so frightened that he turned around and tried to run away. But how could Han Mu let him go? He threw another punch, blasting the Lord of Chaos into dust as well.

After killing the Chaos Venerable and the Chaos Lord, Han Mu's aura began to plummet, falling from the peak of the Primordial Chaos realm to the early stage of the Primordial Chaos realm, then to the peak of the Sovereign realm, and finally stopping at the mid-stage of the Sovereign realm.

The spacetime compass was destroyed, and Han Mu's cultivation level dropped to the mid-stage of the Dominator realm, but he did not regret it, because he had protected the Cosmic Sea and everything he wanted to protect.

"My lord!" Zhou Meng and the other two rushed over and helped the swaying Han Mu.

"I'm fine, just a little tired," Han Mu said weakly. He looked at Zhou Meng and the other two and gave them a weary smile. "From now on, the Cosmic Sea is in your hands."

"My lord, what nonsense are you talking about? You'll be fine," Luo Feng said anxiously.

"I'm really fine, I just need to rest for a while," Han Mu said. He was helped back to the Temple of Creation by Zhou Meng and the other two, lay down on the bed, and closed his eyes.

Han Mu slept for a full hundred years. When he woke up, he found that his cultivation had recovered to the peak of the Sovereign realm. Although he was still some distance from the Primordial Realm, he had at least recovered some of it.

"My lord, you're finally awake." Zhou Meng was so excited when he saw Han Mu wake up that tears almost fell from his eyes.

"How long have I been asleep?" Han Mu asked.

"One hundred years," Zhou Meng said.

"Has anything happened in the Cosmic Sea during all this time?" Han Mu asked.

"No, everything is peaceful. After the Lord of Chaos and the Venerable of Chaos died, those petty villains dared not cause any trouble," Zhou Meng said.

"That's good." Han Mu breathed a sigh of relief. He sat up, stretched his muscles, and felt that he had almost recovered.

"My lord, what are your plans next?" Zhou Meng asked.

"I need to recover my cultivation first, then find a successor. I want to retire," Han Mu said with a smile.

"Retire? My lord, how old are you? You're already thinking about retiring." Zhou Meng said speechlessly.

"I've lived for so many years, I've had enough. Now I just want to find a place to retire and live a few peaceful days," Han Mu said.

Zhou Meng knew Han Mu was joking and didn't take it seriously, but he didn't know that Han Mu really wanted to retire.
