Shang Jingming's tone was calm, no longer as sharp as before, carrying a sense of indifference, yet it still stung Shang Yu's heart.

The son seemed to be talking about the doctor, but it was also as if he was hinting at something else through the doctor.

"Jingming..." Shang Yu opened his mouth, wanting to explain something, but when his gaze fell on Shang Jingming's face, he only saw a cold and polite expression on his face. It was very different from the stubborn boy in his memory who had confronted him head-on and refused to back down.

This silence was more alarming to Shang Yu than any confrontation, as if his concern and anger were nothing more than a passing breeze in Shang Jingming's eyes, unable to stir up even the slightest ripple.

Shang Yu's voice was a little hoarse: "I...I was just worried about your injuries."

Shang Jingming smiled nonchalantly, "I'm fine, and Dr. Ji's medical skills are excellent. You really don't need to worry about such a small matter. Please go back."

This was the second time his son had asked him to leave since he entered the house.

The estranged son, Bian Yushu standing in front of the bed, and Shen Jiangliu drinking tea by himself.

They stood firmly in a line, silently driving away this uninvited guest.

It was as if he, as the father, was the outsider in this house.

This realization pierced Shang Yu's heart like a knife, bringing a deep sense of suffocation and an unbearable sense of absurdity.

It's as if no matter what he says or does, he's just a self-absorbed clown who only annoys people.

A heavy sense of powerlessness welled up inside him. Shang Yu gave Shang Jingming a deep look and finally said, "Take good care of your injuries. If you need any help from Doctor Ji, send me a message anytime."

"Thanks."

They were so polite that only two words were left, as if there was nothing more to say.

Shang Yu twitched his nostrils slightly, but ultimately said nothing, and left without lingering, taking Doctor Ji with him.

The curtains fell, separating the two worlds.

As the footsteps faded into the distance, the stagnant air inside the room finally began to move slowly.

Bian Yushu looked at the curtain that blocked the view, then at Shang Jingming on the bed. She was a little curious about why her mortal enemy and his father had gotten into such a fight, but in the end, she suppressed her curiosity and didn't ask anything.

He smugly raised his chin at Shang Jingming, "When it really matters, we still need your senior brother to step in, right?"

Shang Jingming glanced at Bian Yushu, whose tail was practically wagging in the air, and emphasized the title of senior brother once again. Suddenly, the gloom in his heart vanished.

He nodded solemnly: "True friendship is revealed in times of trouble; it has to be the eldest brother."

What could be more gratifying than your arch-enemy bowing down?

Bian Yushu felt lightheaded, as if he were walking on cotton. He couldn't help but look up at the sky, but he hadn't forgotten Shen Jiangliu. "It's not all my doing, it's also thanks to my senior uncle."

Shang Jingming glanced in Shen Jiangliu's direction, cupped his hands in a gesture of respect, and said nothing more.

Shen Jiangliu lowered his head and took a small sip of tea. "It's nothing."

Shang Jingming glanced at Bian Yushu, who was looking stunningly beautiful beside him, and couldn't resist teasing him. He suddenly smacked his lips and cupped his hands in a gesture of respect to Bian Yushu. "I'm a little thirsty. It seems I'll have to trouble you, Senior Brother, to call a servant in to pour me a cup of tea."

What is more satisfying than making your arch-enemy bow down?

Of course, it's about getting your arch-nemesis to willingly acknowledge you as his senior.

Hehe, senior brother, truly senior brother!

His Majesty's position as the chief disciple is secure!

Bian Yushu was overjoyed to be addressed as "Senior Brother" so solemnly, and he even forgot about his long-standing grievances for a moment.

He puffed out his chest, suppressing a wildly upturned smile. "Want some tea, huh? Leave it to me, senior brother. You just wait!"

After saying that, he strode to the table, poured a cup of tea, returned to the tatami mat, and handed it to Shang Jingming, even thoughtfully adding, "Be careful, it's hot."

Shang Jingming suppressed a laugh, took the tea, took a sip, and then "casually" glanced at the snacks on the table. He swallowed hard, and finally sighed as if he didn't want to trouble anyone, without saying anything.

Bian Yushu glanced at Shang Jingming, then at the pastries, and instantly understood his "junior brother's" "unspeakable difficulty." "Do you want some pastries? Senior brother will go get them for you?"

Shang Jingming declined "embarrassed," saying, "How could I possibly accept this? It would be too much trouble for you, senior brother."

Bian Yushu was overjoyed, patting his chest and declaring confidently, "What's the trouble? Just tell me what you want to eat. It's only natural for a senior brother to take care of his junior brother!"

After saying that, she ran to the table to get some snacks.

Shen Jiangliu had already planned to leave, and now that Shang Yu had left, there was no need for him here.

Before he could even put down his teacup, he witnessed a hilarious scene where a bad boy had the silly boy completely bewildered.

It's really...unbearable to look at.

He casually pulled out the paper he had slipped into his pocket earlier and wrapped it around the charcoal pencil.

Seeing his action, Bian Yushu asked in confusion, "Isn't this the one you remembered before, Senior Uncle..."

Before he could finish speaking, Shen Jiangliu stood up and threw the object at the bed, shouting, "Commander Shang, catch!"

The charcoal pencil wrapped in paper wasn't very heavy, and it lost its momentum before it even reached the edge of the tatami mat.

Shang Jingming thought it was some important item, so he quickly slapped the bed, jumped up, took a step forward, and caught it in his hand.

He picked it up and unfolded it: a blank sheet of paper.

Shang Jingming subconsciously looked towards the edge of the table.

Shen Jiangliu dusted off his clothes, walked over, and casually slapped him on the back. "This is a gift from your senior uncle. You're welcome."

"It's getting late, goodbye."

Shang Jingming: "..." I was careless.

If he still didn't know what Shen Jiangliu was up to, he might as well sit at the same table as Bian Yushu.

Sure enough, a gaze that could burn two holes in a person was fixed on him.

Bian Yushu gritted her teeth, "Junior brother, are you alright?"

Shang Jingming, supporting his back, limped back to the bed and lay down. "I thought it was something important, making me risk tearing my own wounds to fix it. Uncle-Master, you should have said so earlier! It hurts so much..."

If Bian Yushu still didn't realize at this point that she had been tricked by Shang Jingming, she might as well find a block of tofu and smash her head against it.

He lunged at him angrily, shouting, "Shang Jingming! You've tricked me again!"

Shang Jingming was prepared and nimbly dodged Bian Yushu's fist, laughing as he dodged: "Senior Brother, please calm down. I'm just doing this to complete His Majesty's mission."

Bian Yushu never expected him to be so shameless. She lunged at Shang Jingming and grabbed his collar, "Did you order me around serving tea and water as a job?"

Knowing he was in the wrong, Shang Jingming let Bian Yushu get his way, allowing him to grab his collar and shake him violently, surrendering and saying, "I was wrong, I was wrong."

Shen Jiangliu strolled leisurely and gracefully out of the room.

They left the noise and commotion in the room.

Another good deed done each day.
