Mo Ye, still sleepy-eyed, yawned and casually touched her fluffy, soft hair.

"Hmm... Good morning, Tongtong."

He reached for his phone on the bedside table and glanced at it. It was only a little past six. "It's still early. I'll sleep a little longer."

As he spoke, he wrapped his arms around his daughter and pulled her into his embrace.

On the other side, He Wanqing also woke up.

She blinked in confusion, feeling a little empty in her arms, and then looked again—her husband's chest was now occupied by a small head.

She sighed softly.

Next time... I must remember to lock the door before going to bed.

---

At the dining table, Tongtong held her milk cup with both hands, taking small sips, with a cute "white beard" around the corner of her mouth.

She suddenly remembered something, looked up, and asked with a serious expression:

"Daddy, why did Tongtong wake up in the little room today?"

Mo Ye paused slightly as he was placing a fried egg on her plate, but his expression remained unchanged, and his tone was natural:

"Perhaps our Tongtong was sleepwalking last night."

"Sleepwalking?" Tongtong blinked her big eyes, full of curiosity about this new term. "What is sleepwalking?"

"That's right," Mo Ye placed the fried egg on her small plate, suppressing a laugh, and explained in a serious tone.

"Some children, even when they're asleep, will naturally get up and walk away to sleep elsewhere without even realizing it!"

"Oh—" Tongtong drawled as if suddenly understanding, nodding her little head. "Tongtong gets it!"

She was focused on frying eggs, completely unaware that from that day on, she would become a sleepwalking child.

The three of them finished breakfast and stood at the door.

Mo Ye bent down to put on his shoes, then looked up at He Wanqing and said, "I'll take Tongtong home again today."

He Wanqing was helping Tongtong tidy up the straps of her schoolbag when she heard this, and nodded, "Okay."

She was about to say something more when she saw Mo Ye straighten up and walk two steps to her.

He reached out and naturally and firmly pulled her into his embrace, then lowered his head and gently kissed her cheek.

The touch was warm and fleeting, yet unmistakably intimate.

He Wanqing was slightly taken aback, her cheeks instantly flushing red. She subconsciously glanced at Tongtong, who was looking up at her curiously, and spoke in a low, reproachful voice:

"What are you doing... Tongtong is still here."

Mo Ye simply smiled, his eyes gentle and open. He didn't shy away from showing affection to his wife in front of his daughter.

In his view, the love and warmth that naturally flows between parents is the best sense of security for children.

Only a child who grows up in love will know how to love.

"Mommy and Daddy are kissing!" Tongtong exclaimed in her childish voice, her eyes wide open, showing no embarrassment but rather curiosity and excitement.

She hugged Mo Ye's leg and shook it, tilting her chubby little face up to demand fairly, "Tongtong wants one too! Daddy, give me a kiss!"

Mo Ye chuckled, bent down, picked up the little one, and gave her a loud "kiss" on her chubby, milky-scented cheek.

Tongtong giggled contentedly, then turned her little body and stretched out her chubby fingers.

Pointing to her other cheek, her big, dark eyes looked at He Wanqing: "Mommy, give me a kiss here too!"

Looking at her daughter's innocent and expectant expression, He Wanqing's heart melted, and her shyness faded away.

She smiled gently, leaned over, and lightly kissed the cheek her daughter was pointing to.

After kissing Tongtong, she looked up and met Mo Ye's smiling gaze.

He tilted his head slightly, the meaning couldn't be clearer—what about mine?

He Wanqing's ears burned even hotter, but she still quickly tiptoed and touched his lips very lightly, like a dragonfly skimming the water.

"I...I'm going to be late for work!" She turned around quickly, almost frantically grabbing her bag from the entryway cabinet, changing her shoes and heading out, her back view carrying a hint of "fleeing in panic".

The door closed gently.

Mo Ye touched the corner of his lips, which still seemed to retain her soft touch and faint fragrance, and looked at the closed door, a deep smile spreading across his eyes.

Why are you even more shy after last night?

Where did the "President He" who took the initiative to kiss him and declare his ownership on the Ferris wheel go?

Perhaps... she's just not used to showing such direct affection between husband and wife in front of Tongtong.

This discovery brought a unique sweetness to his heart.

"Daddy," Tongtong asked with a grin, hugging his neck, "Is Mommy shy?"

Mo Ye was amused by her and rubbed her little nose: "Hmm, Mommy is shy."

Tongtong blinked her big eyes, thought about it seriously for a moment, and then raised an objection:

"But Tongtong thinks Mommy isn't shy at all! When Tongtong kisses Mommy, Mommy always kisses her back! Lots of kisses!"

Mo Ye couldn't help but chuckle at his daughter's logic, momentarily at a loss for words. He smiled and pinched her little nose: "You're such a little devil. Come on, Daddy's taking you to kindergarten."

"Mmm! Time to go to kindergarten!" Tongtong's attention was immediately diverted, and she happily waved her little fist.

---

After safely dropping Tongtong off at kindergarten in that adorable "cat car," and watching her skip and hop with her teacher inside with her little backpack, Mo Ye turned back to his car.

My phone rang as soon as I started the car.

Caller ID: Mom.

Why is Mom calling at this hour?

Normally, if there's nothing going on, it's common for us to go ten days or half a month without talking.

"Hello, Mom, what's wrong?" he answered the phone.

"Is Tongtong there?" Jiang Hui's voice was filled with undisguised anticipation, getting straight to the point.

"I just enrolled her in kindergarten," Mo Ye answered truthfully.

"Huh? You went to kindergarten?"

Jiang Hui's voice immediately faltered, her disappointment evident, which quickly transformed into anger directed at her son.

"Why are you answering the phone when Tongtong isn't here! Honestly! I'm hanging up now. Call me back via video after Tongtong finishes class! Remember that!"

"Mom, I..."

"Beep beep beep—"

Mo Ye listened to the busy tone coming from his phone, shook his head helplessly, and put the phone aside.

Sure enough... with a granddaughter, the son becomes a dispensable background character.

---

In the Mo family courtyard, Jiang Hui looked at the phone that had been hung up and sighed in frustration: "Oh, I called too late! I missed talking to my dear granddaughter."

Sitting across the table, drinking plain porridge, Mo Chashan glanced at his wife's dejected face and understood:

"Did Tongtong go to kindergarten?"

"Hmm," Jiang Hui responded listlessly, poking at the pickled vegetables in her bowl.

"Don't worry, we can video chat again tonight," Mo Chashan comforted gently, then asked...

"Didn't you say yesterday you wanted to buy Tongtong a present? Did you find out about that singing, spinning pony Tongtong mentioned?"

Mentioning this brought Jiang Hui back to her senses somewhat, but her brows furrowed again:

"I searched online and went to several toy stores to ask, but there are so many different styles of that little pony that I don't know which one Tongtong likes."

Suddenly, her eyes lit up, and she slammed her hand on the table. "How about... I buy one of each of those white spinning musical ponies I see in the supermarket! Surely one of them will be one that Tongtong likes!"

Mo Chashan looked at his wife's excited expression as she was instantly energized, and a indulgent smile appeared in his eyes.

He slowly took a sip of his porridge and nodded.

"Okay, buy it if you like. Isn't money meant to be spent on the kids? We don't need much for the two of us."

"Exactly!" Jiang Hui, having received support, immediately began planning to go on a shopping spree at the town's largest supermarket that afternoon.

The couple were chatting enthusiastically about buying a gift for their granddaughter when steady footsteps sounded from the courtyard gate.
