Mo Ye listened to one lesson and found it so watery that he couldn't stand it anymore.

He closed his textbook, patted the people on either side of him, and whispered a single word: "Let's go."

Shen Qing and Wang Jie almost reflexively put away their phones and textbooks.

When the three of them slipped out of the classroom, the corridor was empty. The doors of the other classrooms were closed, and the occasional sound of a teacher lecturing could be heard, muffled and as if there was a layer of cotton between them.

Shen Qing walked at the front, her steps light as if she were walking on clouds. As she went downstairs, the outside air rushed in, carrying the scent of grass and earth, completely different from the stuffy smell in the classroom.

He took a deep breath, exhaled slowly, and felt as if he had come back to life.

"I really don't know what's the point of taking this kind of class," Shen Qing grumbled as she walked, hands in her pockets, taking long strides.

"It's just so we can find another place to use our phones and sleep."

Wang Jie patted him on the shoulder and said seriously, "If you don't go, how will you provide job opportunities for teachers?"

Shen Qing was taken aback by his words, then waved her hand, put on a fawning smile, rubbed her hands together, and moved between Mo Ye and Wang Jie, putting her arms around their shoulders: "How about you two come with me to deliver food to Sister Qin?"

Mo Ye and Wang Jie stopped at the same time, turned to look at him, and showed a knowing look on their faces.

"Yo yo yo, Sister Qin," Mo Ye mimicked his tone, raising the pitch at the end of her sentence.

"Do people even know you have a younger brother?" Then, in unison with Wang Jie, they said, "Not really."

Shen Qing gritted her teeth, as if she had made a momentous decision, and held up three fingers: "I... I'll provide you with meals for three days!"

Mo Ye and Wang Jie exchanged a glance, then simultaneously gave each other a high five, decisively declaring, "Deal."

Mo Ye led them to the parking lot, took out his car keys, and pressed a button.

Shen Qing stared at the car, her eyes wide. She carefully reached out and touched the car door, making clicking sounds as she spoke.

"My God, is this a million-dollar car? It's completely different from our Wuling minivan."

He suddenly remembered something and turned to ask Mo Ye, "Do I need to take my shoes off before going in?"

Mo Ye opened the car door and said expressionlessly, "Get out of here. You two sit in the back; no one can sit in the front passenger seat."

The two gave each other an OK sign and said in unison, "Understood, the passenger seat is your wife's reserved seat."

Mo Ye glanced at them and said, "It's enough that you know."

Shen Qing sat in the back seat, rubbed her bottom against the leather seat, sank into the backrest, and let out a satisfied sigh: "Luxury cars are just different, leather is so high-class."

He reached out and touched the stereo on the car door, turning the volume up a bit. When the intro started, he paused for a moment, then exclaimed with delight, "..."

"Wow, this sound system is a whole level above the music I usually listen to."

Mo Ye started the car, turned the steering wheel, glanced at him in the rearview mirror, and said with a smile, "Then you should buy one too."

Shen Qing leaned back in her seat, gazing at the car roof, her tone tinged with helplessness, but more so with resignation:

"It's not that simple. If I could earn 300,000 a year outside, I'd be incredibly grateful."

He counted on his fingers, "Even if she earns 300,000 a year, her car is probably worth two million, right? That's seven years' worth without eating or drinking."

As Mo Ye drove, he said, "Can't you get a promotion and a raise?"

Shen Qing waved his hand, shrinking back into his seat like a bear preparing for hibernation: "I know my own limitations. As long as I can eat my fill, that's enough. I'm the ancestor of salted fish."

Mo Ye didn't say anything more.

He himself doesn't seem to have any ambitions; as long as he has enough money to spend, that's fine.

Wang Jie leaned over from the back seat, his expression unusually serious:

"What if Dr. Qin wanted you to be ambitious? Dr. Qin probably earns a million a year, would you still dare to pursue her?"

Shen Qing fell silent...

The car was quiet for a few seconds, with only the low hum of the engine.

Mo Ye and Wang Jie exchanged a glance, thinking that he had been discouraged.

Shen Qing suddenly raised her head, her eyes brighter than before: "Wang Jie, you're right, I should strive to improve myself."

Both of them were taken aback for a moment, then nodded seriously: "We support you."

Mo Ye asked, "Do you need any help?"

Shen Qing shook her head, her tone firm: "No need, I want to do it myself."

Wang Jie patted him on the shoulder: "I'll go with you. Anyway, we're both fine as long as we're both single, and it's a waste not to try something new when we're young."

He paused, glanced at Mo Ye in the driver's seat, and added, "That old man with a family, Mo Ye, won't be coming along."

A dark line appeared on Mo Ye's face: "What do you mean by 'old thing'?"

Shen Qing leaned over from the back seat and explained seriously, "A boy is someone without a family, a man is someone with a family, understand?"

Mo Ye rolled his eyes speechlessly, but couldn't help but smirk slightly. He thought for a moment and said, "I'll invest some money in you."

Shen Qing looked at him, her expression turning serious: "I don't need your pity."

Mo Ye met his gaze in the rearview mirror, his tone calm but earnest: "Do you think I would pity you? I'm giving you a lot of credit. If you succeed, I can even get a share of the profits."

Shen Qing fell silent.

He knew better than anyone that the most important thing for starting a business was seed money.

This time he didn't refuse. He reached out his hand, clenched his fist, and said in a low but firm voice, "Fine, we'll be brothers in our hearts."

Mo Ye's lips curled up slightly, and he bumped fists with him: "Okay, I'll transfer 500,000 to you later."

Shen Qing gasped, her eyes widening like saucers: "Old Mo, you're really rich! You talk about 500,000 like it's nothing."

Mo Ye said slowly, "I have a wife who supports me, and I get a million in pocket money every month."

Shen Qing and Wang Jie both felt their teeth ache at the same time, raised two middle fingers at him, and cursed in unison:

"You deserve to die! We all have nine years of compulsory education, so why are you so much better?"

Mo Ye's tone remained leisurely, with a calmness that could infuriate anyone: "It's because my wife is outstanding."

The two of them blushed with jealousy, and after holding it in for a while, they squeezed out a single word through gritted teeth: "Damn." (This refers to a type of plant.)

Looking at the two people in the rearview mirror who couldn't stand him but couldn't do anything about it, Mo Ye felt only one word—satisfying.

"What are you planning to buy for Qin Yue to eat?" he asked.

Shen Qing stroked his chin and cleared his throat dramatically: "I'm now appointing you two as my strategists. What do you suggest we buy?"

Mo Ye and Wang Jie both fell silent.

Seeing that they remained silent, Shen Qing grew anxious: "Old Mo, what do you usually take your wife out to eat? What do girls like to eat?"

Mo Ye thought for a moment and answered seriously, "It's just some home-cooked food. I feel like I'd eat anything with her. It mainly depends on who I'm eating with..."
