Re:Zero -Starting Life in Zero

Chapter 92 Quickly Call Someone

Green wiped his mouth and said expressionlessly, "Elsa, can I borrow a knife?"

Upon hearing this, a smile flashed across Elsa's eyes. With a slight movement of her fingertips, the gleaming short sword at her waist was drawn from its sheath and held firmly in her palm.

She got up and walked slowly to Green's side, handing him the knife hilt.

Green took the scimitar and gradually approached Mimi.

Upon seeing this, Mimi reacted as if she had been hit by static electricity, her hair standing on end like waves.

"Big brother... what are you going to do?"

"Let me trim your nails!"

Green raised his hand and slapped Mimi's butt with the back of his knife.

Mimi screamed and, like a startled rabbit, kicked her hind legs and darted toward the door.

The back of the knife missed its mark, only grazing her trouser leg.

"Help! Big brother has turned into a demon!"

Before the words were even finished, the person had already darted out the door, their footsteps clicking as they ran towards the end of the corridor, quickly disappearing from sight.

Grimm stared at the empty doorway, clicked his tongue in frustration, and tossed the scimitar to Elsa.

Elsa twirled her fingertips lightly, catching the hilt of the knife and returning it to its sheath. Her eyes were full of disappointment: "I thought I would be able to see the kitten's delicate intestines."

"nerve."

Green cursed and turned to walk toward the door of opportunity in the corner of the room, which was gleaming faintly.

"Come on, Meryl, come with me for a moment."

Melly immediately suppressed her amusement and quickly followed him. As she passed Elsa, she added a word of caution: "Be careful, and don't give the guards your wrong number again."

Elsa waved her hand, her smile languid: "Don't worry~"

Green reached out and pushed open the door of opportunity, and a distorted light and shadow instantly spread out behind it.

He stepped in first, followed closely by Mary, their figures quickly swallowed up by the light and shadow.

As soon as she came out of Roswaal's mansion, Mary turned around and looked at the Opportunity Gate like a curious child.

She tiptoed and reached out to touch it, but her fingertips only grasped at empty air; the door had already vanished without a trace.

Mary couldn't help but click her tongue, turning to look at Green with eyes full of curiosity: "That's amazing!"

Grimm glanced around the room; the bed was empty, and Ram and Rem were nowhere to be seen.

He glanced at Meryl casually and said in a flat tone, "Don't reach your hands around like that, or you'll fall into another dimension."

As he spoke, he began to walk towards the other end of the corridor. "I need to go back to my room first; I need to change my clothes."

Mary quickly withdrew her hand as if burned, stuck out her tongue, and hurried to catch up with Green: "I know, I know, I was just curious."

The corridor was quiet, with only the soft echoes of their footsteps on the wooden floor.

The window facing Ram's room was wide open, letting in a constant stream of cool night air.

As we turned a corner, a slight noise suddenly came from ahead.

Immediately afterwards, two familiar figures emerged from around the corner at the end of the corridor—

It was Rem and Ram who had just returned from using the toilet.

Ram was holding a handkerchief and slowly wiping her fingertips.

Seeing that Green was only wrapped in a bed sheet and had a little girl following behind him, his eyes immediately turned hostile.

"Shameless! Ram is going to call the guards."

"I've noticed your brain is full of royal rubbish! Do I look suspicious?"

As he spoke, Green pulled the loose bed sheet up a bit.

Rem covered her mouth and chuckled, "Grimm-kun, wait a minute, Rem will go get you some clothes."

Grimm gave Rem a grateful look, then turned back to Ram and switched back to his provocative tone.

He walked to the window and gently closed it.

"Seeing me dressed so scantily, they didn't even bother to close the window. What if someone accidentally fell out in the dark?"

As soon as Green approached the window, he looked down in the moonlight and saw that the usually neat and tidy green belt and bushes had been knocked down by something.

"Wow, did someone really fall down?"

Ram dismissively looked away and said in a flat voice, "It was Balus's clothes that were blown down by the wind."

Green looked incredulous: "How is that possible? A piece of clothing could create such a huge dent down there?"

Ram added, "Barus happened to be inside the clothes at the time."

"what?"

Green was speechless; this girl's ability to express herself was simply unbelievable.

"This is called a baby who fell from a building."

"Hmph, don't use such a frivolous term for Ram."

Ram crossed his arms and turned his head to the side, clearly very dissatisfied with Green's previous actions.

Rem also returned at this moment, carrying a whole set of clothes in her arms.

"Green, quickly take this and change into it, be careful not to catch a cold."

Green took the clothes and said happily, "Rem still cares about me the most."

After saying that, he reached out and pushed Meryl, who was hiding behind him, in front of Ram.

"Look, I was worried you wouldn't be able to handle it all by yourself, so I found you a little helper."

Meryl stepped forward somewhat awkwardly, raising her head to carefully examine Ram and Rem.

Rem hadn't noticed the child until now, but under the corridor lights, she finally saw Merry's face.

That slightly round face, the upturned nose, and the slightly pursed lips when he spoke—it perfectly matched the figure in my memory.

The air suddenly tightened, and even the night breeze seemed to freeze by the window.

Rem's gentle smile shattered instantly, her blue pupils shrank to the size of pinpoints, and her aura turned as cold as an ice-cold blade.

She almost instinctively turned to the side and reached her hand to her waist.

Amidst the crisp clanging of the chain links, a gleaming meteor hammer was already in his hand, the iron chain taut and the hammerhead flashing with a chilling light under the moonlight.

"It's you, the culprit who hurt Green!"

Her voice was filled with suppressed anger, each word uttered slowly and deliberately, as if squeezed out from between her teeth.

This little girl is the one who planted the curse on Green in Alam Village!

"Hey hey hey!"

With quick reflexes, Grimm grabbed Rem from behind, afraid she might impulsively throw something.

Mary took a step back. She had truly felt the killing intent just now; the blue-haired woman in front of her really wanted to kill her.

Grimm pressed Rem's small hand down and quickly reassured her, "Don't be impulsive, Rem. This little one is under my command now."

After saying this, he turned to look at Meryl, winked at her, and gestured for her to quickly back down.

"What are you standing there for? Hurry up and call for help!"

"Huh?"

Mary stared wide-eyed, her face filled with bewilderment and confusion, completely unable to process this sudden situation.

That jerk Green, does he really want me to call him that?

Whatever, it doesn't matter!

Now she must stick close to Green's side in order to have any hope of escaping being hunted down by the original assassin organization.

After a brief moment of thought, Mary seemed to have made up her mind.

She fiddled with the hem of her clothes, shyly leaning closer to Rem, her cheeks flushed red, and she opened her mouth several times before finally managing to speak.

"Mom...Mom..."

In an instant, Rem's rage and Grimm's attempts to comfort her ceased, and even the noisy night wind fell silent.
