Lord: Starting with Summoning the Regular Army of Earth

Chapter 9 The Experts' Journey to Another World

Inside the lord's manor, Matthew returned to his room after finishing dinner.

In the room, a cheap oil lamp cast a dim, yellowish glow; in a world without electricity, light became an extraordinary luxury.

Matthew sat cross-legged on the hard bed, his hands tightly gripping the dark purple crystal pendant on his chest. He was slightly excited; he was about to begin his second summoning.

With his eyes closed, Matthew concentrated all his energy, guiding his thoughts into the pendant.

Soon, that strange feeling returned, and his consciousness seemed to traverse endless void, once again seeing the classroom scene on the other side of Blue Star.

However, the place has undergone tremendous changes, with desks and chairs replaced by various instruments and medical monitoring beds.

Five middle-aged men in their uniforms, each wearing a name tag, sat on a sofa and looked at them excitedly.

Matthew guessed that they must be the first batch of "reinforcements" sent by the country.

The next second, an even stronger and more stable energy surged from the pendant, instantly filling the entire room, and a magic circle appeared.

The flame of the oil lamp flickered violently, and the light of the magic circle slowly receded after reaching its peak.

In the light, five small, green figures quickly materialized from the ethereal.

Unlike Chen Fei and his companions who were panicked and helpless when they first arrived, these five "goblins" were relatively calm, although their eyes were filled with barely suppressed excitement as they observed each other and their surroundings like curious children.

The new sensory changes brought about by their new bodies were novel and awe-inspiring, and it took them a while to adjust before they came to their senses.

"This is truly incredible!" Zhao Lanxin looked at her dark green skin and strangely ugly hands, her eyes filled with astonishment, not fear.

Even before receiving the mission, she had already gained some understanding of goblins, these bizarre creatures that should only exist in fantasy works.

"We've really come to another world!" Li Jianguo, in his goblin form, couldn't help but squat down and touch the somewhat rotten floor and the dust on it with his green fingers.

It seems that this allows him to feel the reality of the world.

"It's amazing! I can feel my ears moving, and my hearing, smell, and vision are incredibly sharp," Wang Lei said excitedly. He could clearly feel that he had the senses of a wild animal, and even in this dimly lit room, he could see the outlines of objects in the corners.

For someone who had once suffered from severe myopia and night blindness, this was no less than the feeling of regaining sight after being blind.

Of course, what surprised him the most was his hearing. The world at that moment no longer seemed to be stereo, but had become a noisy yet incredibly clear sound field composed of the precise coordinates of countless sound sources. His two ears were like radar antennas, and by slightly adjusting the angle, he could further focus on sound sources in a specific direction.

The surrounding scents are no longer a mixed whole, but broken down into independent clues, as if you can "smell" the history of this room and its current dynamics.

This may be the innate advantage of the goblin race.

"However, this body is indeed somewhat weak." After a brief period of adjustment, Sun Zhengwu sighed, then stepped forward, straightening his slightly hunched posture, his expression solemn, and his gaze fixed firmly on Matthew.

He felt a sense of awe and pressure, as if he were facing a "commander," even though Matthew's face still had a touch of childishness. He instinctively raised his arm in a military salute and said in a strong voice, "Comrade Matthew, I am Sun Zhengwu. I have been assigned by my superiors to provide you with assistance."

At the same time, Professor Zhou Zhe stepped forward, extended his hand, and said with a smile, "Hello, Comrade Matthew, I am Zhou Zhe. These gentlemen are all experts in their respective fields..."

"Hello!" Matthew was a little excited, but seeing the arrival of the "professionals" made him feel at ease.

He quickly got out of bed and shook hands with Zhou Zhe, Sun Zhengwu, Zhao Lanxin, and others: "Distinguished experts and professors, welcome! With you all here, I feel much more at ease!"

Zhou Zhe smiled and nodded, then said earnestly, "Comrade Matthew, before we get to the main topic, there's something I need to tell you. We've informed your parents about your time travel and explained the situation in detail. They are currently safe and sound. The country has made the best possible arrangements and provided psychological support. We will also arrange a suitable time for them to come here and meet you. While we deeply regret what happened to you, we also sincerely admire the resilience and responsibility you've shown in such adversity. Please rest assured that wherever you are, the country will always be your strongest support. We will provide you and your family with the maximum help and support. The five of us are just an advance team. Later, the country will have a more professional team, perhaps an entire think tank, to protect you and help you gain a foothold in this world."

Hearing Professor Zhou Zhe's words, Matthew felt a warmth in his heart, and his nose inexplicably tingled with emotion.

He was not a cowardly or pretentious person, but people's hearts always become vulnerable when they are helpless.

After a brief greeting and pleasantries, Matthew got straight to the point, since they were essentially racing against time.

He clearly and logically explained the current situation of Jinshi Ridge and his own predicament.

The five experts listened intently, occasionally asking questions.

"What are the specific manifestations of soil infertility? Is it soil compaction, desertification, or pH levels?" Zhao Lan asked anxiously.

Matthew didn't quite understand the technical terms, so he described what he saw: "The soil was as hard as if it had been burned, and crops were hard to grow."

Zhao Lanxin nodded, realizing that she was only facing a senior high school student who didn't know much.

As for the local indigenous people, they certainly wouldn't be able to provide much information, otherwise they could have solved the land problem themselves.

So she didn't press the matter further, but decided to go and see for herself later.

"How much do you know about the goblin tribe in the Misty Mountains?" Sun Zhengwu asked sharply.

"I'm sorry, I know nothing about it at the moment," Matthew replied truthfully.

Sun Zhengwu nodded, pondered for a moment, and then quickly asked, "By the way, Comrade Matthew, what's the maximum number of people your summoning spell can summon at once?"

"I haven't tried it, but based on the two summoning attempts so far, I estimate that summoning hundreds of people at a time and maintaining their existence for a month should be quite easy."

Upon hearing this, the eyes of the five experts lit up instantly.

Deploying hundreds of "laborers" or "soldiers" at once carries entirely different implications.

Sun Zhengwu slapped his thigh, his voice filled with joy: "That's great! If we can have a stable manpower deployment of over a hundred people, many problems will be much easier!"

He quickly outlined a general plan in his mind, including using the natural concealment of their goblin identity to enter the Misty Mountains for reconnaissance, early warning and control, as well as the construction of forward defense systems and offensives, and even the formation of a goblin armed force.

"Comrade Matthew, please elaborate on the details of your magic and your understanding of this world. We need more information so that our national advisors can develop a more accurate and clearer development plan for you," Professor Zhou Zhe said solemnly.

"Okay, no problem." Matthew then gave a detailed explanation of the magic pendant's abilities, as well as his knowledge of this world and the Kingdom of Augustus.

But when he introduced the various races that existed in this world, he suddenly discovered something strange. This world had legendary dragons, demons, dwarves, giants, orcs, goblins and other races, but there seemed to be no records or legends about the elves.

It seems that there is no such race as the Elf race in this world.

However, this was just a fleeting thought in his mind, and he didn't dwell on it, since every world has information barriers.

The original owner of this body was not a learned scholar, and the information she knew was still quite limited.

But just then, heavy and urgent footsteps came from the hallway outside the door, and Matthew guessed it was Will.

Then they heard Sir Conrad's voice: "What happened, Will? Why are you in such a panic?"
