Chapter 304 I Heard You're a Good Fighter
Docks, warehouses.
Night had fallen, and the sea was pitch black, with only a few scattered lights on cargo ships in the distance.
A salty sea breeze blew by, carrying the chill of early autumn, causing the metal roof of the warehouse to creak slightly.
This warehouse belongs to Chen Feng. It's not big, but it's in a good location, close to the dock, making it convenient for loading and unloading goods.
Two men in black short jackets stood at the door, their hands in their pockets, their eyes warily scanning their surroundings.
The warehouse was brightly lit.
Several high-powered light bulbs hung from the ceiling, illuminating every corner brightly.
Dozens of wooden crates were piled on the ground, some of them open, revealing brand-new submachine guns and rifles inside, their barrels gleaming with a dim, cold light under the lamp.
Mad Bull squatted next to a wooden crate, holding a submachine gun in his hand, looking at it over and over.
He was in his thirties, a big, burly man with a face full of flesh and a shaved head that gleamed oily under the light.
He had a thick gold chain around his neck and a gold watch on his wrist, making him look like a nouveau riche.
Standing behind him were four burly men with dark skin, clearly people who had spent years traveling in Southeast Asia. They had their hands on their hips and their eyes scanning the warehouse.
The man with the gap-toothed man stood opposite, leaning against the wall, a cigarette between his fingers, slowly smoking.
He was wearing a dark short-sleeved shirt, and the scar on his face was particularly noticeable under the light.
Iron Head stood next to him, arms crossed, a big, burly man with a face full of scars, his eyes fixed on Mad Bull and his group like a wolf eyeing its prey.
Mad Bull put down his gun and opened a wooden crate next to him.
Inside were neatly arranged bullets, golden yellow, gleaming under the light.
He picked up a bullet, weighed it in his hand, and then brought it to his nose to smell it.
"Good, good, they're all good guys!"
His voice was loud, buzzing and echoing in the warehouse, and his face was full of satisfied smiles.
The man with the gap-toothed man stubbed out his cigarette, walked over, and stood next to him.
"Of course. Mr. Lou's goods are always the best."
Mad Bull stood up, dusted off his hands, and looked at Gap Tooth.
"So you're the one with the gap-toothed one?"
He nodded, his gap-toothed face showing.
"Yes."
Mad Bull looked him up and down, his gaze lingering on the scar on his face.
"I heard you're pretty good at fighting?"
The man with the gap-toothed man didn't say anything, he just looked at him.
Mad Bull laughed, but the laugh was brief, flashing by in the light.
He turned around and waved to his men.
"Load it onto the truck."
The four men responded immediately and began moving the wooden crates out.
Just then—a screeching sound of brakes rang out outside, followed by hurried footsteps and the clanging of metal.
A figure in uniform emerged from the shadows, followed by a large, dark mass of police officers—a dozen or so, some in uniform, some in plainclothes, all carrying guns.
The leader was William Brown.
He was dressed in a smart police uniform, wearing a peaked cap, with a revolver at his waist, and a smug smile on his face.
He stood at the warehouse entrance, hands on his hips, and shouted into the warehouse.
"Listen up, you inside! You are surrounded! Lay down your weapons and come out to surrender!"
Gaptooth and Ironhead exchanged a glance, and their expressions changed.
Iron Head's hand had already reached for the hilt of the knife at his waist, and his gap-toothed eyes narrowed.
Mad Bull suddenly turned around, staring at Gap Tooth with eyes full of rage.
"you?"
The man with the gap-toothed face looked at him, his voice as cold as ice.
"What about us? You think we summoned the police?"
Mad Bull's face flushed red, and his hand rested on the gun at his waist.
"Damn it! You dare to scheme against me?"
The man with the gap-toothed tooth took a step forward, getting closer to Mad Bull, his eyes devoid of any expression.
"Mad Bull, use your brain. We sold this batch of goods to you. What good will it do us to call the police?"
Mad Bull froze, his hand still on the gun, but he didn't pull it out.
Gaptooth is right, calling the police won't do anyone any good.
Tie Tou walked over from the side and said in a low voice, "Stop arguing. Let's figure out how to get out of here first."
She looked at him with the gap in her teeth.
"Is the tunnel still there?"
Tie Tou nodded.
"Yes. Go out from the back of the warehouse, and it leads directly to the dock."
Gap-toothed man glanced at Mad Bull.
"Aren't you leaving yet?"
Mad Bull gritted his teeth and waved to his men.
"Walk!"
The man with the gap-toothed tooth turned around and looked at the man with the iron head.
"Iron Head, blow up all the goods. Don't leave any evidence for the other side."
Iron Head was stunned for a moment.
"All of them explode?"
He nodded, his gap-toothed face showing.
"Bomb everything."
Tie Tou glanced at him, asked no more questions, and turned to lead a few of his underlings into the depths of the warehouse.
The man with the gap-toothed grin looked at the mad bull.
"Come with me."
Mad Bull followed him, with several of his men trailing behind.
The group walked through the mountain of wooden crates and ran to the back of the warehouse.
The man with the gap-toothed tooth squatted down, groped around on the ground for a while, found a loose wooden board, and pried it open with force.
It was pitch black down there, and a damp, musty smell rose up.
"Get out of here."
"He said with a gap in his teeth."
Mad Bull glanced down; it was pitch black and he couldn't see anything. He gritted his teeth and jumped down.
Several of his men followed suit and jumped down. The one with the gap in teeth was the last; before jumping, he glanced back at the warehouse.
Tie Tou and a few of his henchmen were placing explosive charges on the wooden crates. They were working very quickly, clearly experienced.
Those explosive packs were homemade, wrapped in oiled paper, and had very short fuses.
Ironhead pulled out the fuse, coiled it up, and then nodded to Gaptooth.
The person with the gap-toothed leg jumped down.
The tunnel was very narrow, only wide enough for one person to bend over and pass through.
On both sides were rough earthen walls, overhead were wooden planks and mud, and underfoot was slippery mud. The air was filled with the smell of decay, making people frown.
The boy with the gap in his teeth walked at the front, holding a flashlight in his hand, the beam of light flickering in the darkness.
Mad Bull followed behind, hunched over, stumbling along.
He was too big to turn around in the tunnel, and his head hit the wooden planks on the ceiling several times, making him wince in pain.
"Damn it, what kind of place is this?!"
He was cursing and swearing.
The girl with the gap-toothed man ignored him and continued walking.
The tunnel wasn't long; it only took a few minutes to walk through.
The man with the gap-toothed tooth pushed aside the wooden plank above his head and climbed up.
Outside was the dock, and the sea breeze rushed in, carrying a salty, fishy smell.
He stood on the shore, reached out and pulled the bull ashore, and several of his men followed suit.
The man with the gap-toothed grin looked at the mad bull.
"Go straight ahead from here, there's an alley. There are two cars parked at the entrance of the alley, drive them away."
Mad Bull looked at him, his eyes flashing with a complex light.
"Gap-toothed, about today's events—"
The man with the gap-toothed tooth interrupted him.
"What happened today has nothing to do with us. Go back and think carefully about who most wants you to miss out on this shipment."
Mad Bull's expression changed.
He looked at the gap-toothed man, his mind racing—who most wanted him to miss out on buying this batch of goods?
Naimi?
Or someone else?
The man with the gap-toothed man didn't say anything more, turned around, and ran back along the dock.
Tie Tou and the others are still in the warehouse; he has to go back to meet them.
Mad Bull stood there, watching the gap-toothed man's back disappear into the darkness, then gritted his teeth and led his men toward the alley entrance.
