The Courtyard House: The story begins with He Yuzhu beating up the White Widow.

Chapter 036 He Yuzhu deals with the person who tricked him out of steamed buns with counterfeit mone

"Where is he?! Where did he go?!" Two men who were following He Yuzhu ran into the alley but couldn't find him. One of them couldn't help but mutter to himself.

The other one felt like the meat that was almost in his mouth had flown away, cursed, "What bad luck!" and the two of them left.

He Yuzhu didn't rush down the tree. Not long after, the two men who had been following him returned. Only after confirming that the man was gone did they leave angrily. He Yuzhu then climbed down and quietly followed the two men. After walking for about twenty minutes, He Yuzhu followed them to an alley not far from the black market. He saw the two men enter a courtyard. He Yuzhu immediately ran to the courtyard wall and used his divine sense to envelop the entire courtyard.

He Yuzhu had no idea what the owner of this courtyard house did for a living. Anyway, he used his divine sense to scan the entire courtyard and its surroundings. And surprisingly, there were quite a few things in the courtyard. Afraid of alerting the occupants, He Yuzhu didn't rush to collect the items from the main house in the central courtyard. Instead, he stored everything from the east and west wing rooms, side rooms, the backyard, and the cellar into his spatial storage. Suddenly, He Yuzhu felt that the people he was talking to, the two who had been following him, looked somewhat familiar; it was as if he had seen them somewhere before.

After a while, He Yuzhu finally remembered. It was like finding a needle in a haystack. This person was the culprit who had cheated him out of steamed buns with counterfeit money, earning him the nickname "Silly Zhu." It was truly a case of enemies meeting with intense hatred. He Yuzhu used his divine sense to discover that the two people following him were gone. Only the person who had cheated him out of steamed buns remained in the main house of the central courtyard. Everyone else was in the front yard. He Yuzhu leaped, grabbed the edge of the wall, and nimbly climbed over it. Then, without bothering to conceal his tracks, He Yuzhu went straight into the main house of the central courtyard.

"Who are you?! How did you get in?!" The person who tricked He Yuzhu out of the steamed buns asked coldly when he saw He Yuzhu suddenly appear.

He Yuzhu removed the scarf covering his head and asked, "What?! Don't you recognize me?!"

The person who tried to scam He Yuzhu out of his steamed buns with counterfeit money looked He Yuzhu up and down, then shook his head and said, "I don't know you!"

He Yuzhu sneered, "You've done too many bad things. It's quite possible you don't recognize me. Let me give you a heads-up: you tricked me out of my steamed bun with counterfeit money."

"Who do we have here?! It's you, kid!" the man who had been swindling buns replied, feigning concern, and was about to call for help when He Yuzhu appeared before him. Before the man could resist, He Yuzhu had already knocked him unconscious. Then, He Yuzhu used his divine sense to store everything in the main room into his spatial storage, found a rope, tied up the man, and quietly took him away.

After walking for about half an hour, He Yuzhu led the person who had tricked him into entering an abandoned courtyard house. He opened the cellar door. After catching his breath for a while, He Yuzhu took out an emergency light from his spatial storage, turned it on, and led the person who had tricked him into the cellar.

Once they reached the bottom of the cellar, He Yuzhu threw the man to the ground. The man who had cheated people out of steamed buns probably got hurt from the fall and slowly woke up. Looking at the dim surroundings, he stared at He Yuzhu and asked, "What do you want?!"

He Yuzhu said, "What I want to do?! You should know perfectly well!"

The person trying to scam the steamed buns hurriedly said, "I'll give you the money, please don't kill me!"

He Yuzhu chuckled and said, "Do you think I'm the kind of person who's short of money?! Let me tell you, I brought you here just to vent my anger." With that, He Yuzhu pulled out a steel bar, about the thickness of a thumb and a meter long, from his spatial storage and hurled it at the boy. As he hit him, the resentment in He Yuzhu's chest seemed to dissipate. He felt incredibly relaxed. Only then did He Yuzhu truly understand the joy his second uncle felt when beating his son.

About half an hour later, He Yuzhu stopped. He searched the man who had cheated him out of steamed buns and found over a hundred yuan in cash, a gold ring, and a secret service badge hidden in his clothes. He Yuzhu looked at the contents of the badge and said coldly, "Oh?! What a big fish! Now I have no more guilt!" With that, He Yuzhu saw the man who had cheated him out of steamed buns off on his final journey.

After cleaning up the traces he had left behind, He Yuzhu placed the identification on the person who had cheated him out of steamed buns, and then left the cellar.

Around two o'clock in the morning, He Yuzhu returned home. Seeing that He Yushui was sleeping soundly, He Yuzhu felt relieved. He added some coal to the stove before taking off his clothes and getting into bed.

A little after seven in the morning, He Yuzhu was woken up by He Yushui. He Yuzhu glanced at He Yushui, yawned, sat up in bed, and said while getting dressed, "I'll go make you some food now."

Just as He Yuzhu finished making breakfast and was calling He Yushui to eat, Wang Xia arrived at the Military Control Commission. Entering her office, Wang Xia had barely sat down when she saw a letter on her desk. She picked up the envelope and examined it, finding no writing on it. After hesitating for a moment, she opened the envelope and took out the letter to read.

Upon seeing the contents of the letter, Wang Xia's expression changed slightly. She grabbed the letter and ran out of the office. Taking three steps at a time, she reached the doorway and called out, "Uncle Han!"

Grandpa Han opened the door and asked, "Director Wang, is there anything I can help you with?"

Wang Xia asked, "Did anyone come to the Military Control Commission after Grandpa Han got off work yesterday?!"

Grandpa Han thought for a moment and replied, "No one came after get off work yesterday." Then he asked, "What's wrong?!"

"Nothing?! I was just asking." With that, Wang Xia turned and walked towards her office.

Back in her office, Wang Xia sat down with a furrowed brow, wondering to herself, "Who could have sent this letter?!" She then reread the contents of the letter.

About ten minutes later, Wang Xia heard the sound of a door opening next door. She went out with the letter and saw Wu Jiangyong arrive. She quickly stopped him as he was about to enter his office and asked, "Old Wu, did you hear any noise in my office before you left yesterday?!"

Wu Jiangyong retorted, "Wang Xia, what's wrong?!"

"When I got to the office, I found a letter on my desk." After saying that, Wang Xia handed the letter to Wu Jiangyong.

Wu Jiangyong took the letter and noticed that it was covered in words cut from newspapers. His expression changed slightly, and he said, "Old Wang, come in!" He then led Wang Xia into his office. After inviting Wang Xia to sit down, Wu Jiangyong carefully read the contents of the letter.

After reading the letter, Wu Jiangyong asked, "Wang Xia, how much of the content in this letter do you think is true?!"

Wang Xia said, "I'm not sure how much of it is true. But we can go and take a look at this dark room. If it's really as described in the letter, then the rest are probably true too."
