Wu Jiangyong thought for a moment, picked up the phone on his desk, and dialed a number. The call connected shortly after. Wu Jiangyong said to the voice on the other end, "Director Zhang, this is Wu Jiangyong."

Zhang Qiang asked, "Director Wu, what's the matter that you're calling me so early?!"

Wu Jiangyong said, "Director Zhang, come to me immediately. It's important."

"Okay! I'll be right there!" Zhang Qiang said and hung up the phone.

The military control commission wasn't far from the public security station, just across an alley. In less than ten minutes, Zhang Qiang arrived at the commission. He walked to Wu Jiangyong's office door and knocked.

Upon hearing the knock, Wu Jiangyong called out, "Come in!"

As Zhang Qiang pushed open the office door and walked in, he asked, "Director Wu, what's the matter?!" Suddenly, he saw Wang Xia there as well, and Zhang Qiang greeted her.

Wu Jiangyong handed over the letter and said, "Take a look!"

The moment Zhang Qiang took the letter, he instinctively asked, "Where did this letter come from?!"

Wu Jiangyong and Wang Xia exchanged a glance. Wang Xia said, "I found it on my desk this morning. I asked Uncle Han, the gatekeeper, and he said no one came to the Military Control Commission after get off work yesterday. I left work yesterday, and no one went in either."

Zhang Qiang said, "That's right!"

Wu Jiangyong asked curiously, "What?! You know who sent this letter?!"

Zhang Qiang said, "I don't know who sent this letter. But I'm also looking for someone who writes letters in this way. You've probably both heard about what happened the night before last, right?!" Seeing Wu Jiangyong and Wang Xia nod, Zhang Qiang continued, "The root of last night's operation was also this identical letter. If both letters were written by the same person, then the contents are probably true." He then quickly scanned the letter's contents, his brow furrowing tightly, and muttered, "That old lady again?!"

Wu Jiangyong asked, "What?! Is there something wrong with this old lady?!"

Zhang Qiang nodded and asked, "What are you planning to do?!"

Wu Jiangyong said, "Comrade Wang Xia and I agree that we should go and check out the secret room first. We need to ascertain the situation of the secret room before deciding on the next step."

Zhang Qiang thought for a moment and said, "The west wing of No. 95 courtyard requires going through the courtyard itself. That would easily alert the enemy. I think it's better to climb over the wall."

Wu Jiangyong and Wang Xia exchanged a glance and agreed to Zhang Qiang's plan. Wu Jiangyong said, "There's no time to lose. Director Zhang, gather a few people. Let's go right away."

"Wait!" Wang Xia called out to Zhang Qiang, saying, "I think we should wait a while. It's almost time for people to go to work. There are a lot of people in the alley. Let's wait until most of them have left before we go."

Zhang Qiang thought for a moment, then nodded and said, "Then I'll go back to the station first. I'll bring some people over to call you at 8:30." After saying that, Zhang Qiang returned the letter to Wu Jiangyong and then left the office.

The wait was always long. It was a little before 8:30 AM. Zhang Qiang arrived with four policemen. Wang Xia and Wu Jiangyong called two comrades from the Military Control Commission, and followed Zhang Qiang and his group away from the Commission. A little over ten minutes later, the group arrived at the west courtyard wall of No. 95 Nanluoguxiang. Presumably due to years of disrepair, there was a gap in the wall large enough to squeeze through sideways. The group entered the west courtyard through the gap.

The west courtyard, having been uninhabited for a long time, was overgrown with weeds and appeared extremely desolate. Following the map in the letter, the group quickly found the entrance to the secret room.

After opening the secret door to the secret room and waiting a while, Zhang Qiang took out his lawyer's flashlight and went in first. The group quickly reached the secret room via the secret passage. Seeing the room filled with boxes, Wu Jiangyong casually opened one. Inside were guns wrapped in oil paper. Wang Xia also opened a box. Inside were hand grenades.

As the boxes were opened one by one, everyone present was taken aback. If the weapons and ammunition inside the sealed room were to be used, the consequences would be unimaginable.

After closing the box again, Wang Xia and her group left the secret room. Retracing their steps, they returned to the surface. Zhang Qiang left two policemen to guard the west courtyard, then led the rest of his men, following Wu Jiangyong and Wang Xia, out of the west courtyard.

Back in Wu Jiangyong's office at the Military Control Commission, Wu Jiangyong gestured for Wang Xia and Zhang Qiang to sit down, then picked up the telephone on his desk and dialed a number. The call connected shortly after. Wu Jiangyong reported the situation to the person on the other end of the line. The person on the other end said, "Wait a moment," and then hung up.

About fifteen minutes later, the phone rang. Wu Jiangyong picked it up and just said "feed" once. His superior's voice came from the other end: "Wu Jiangyong, I order you to work with the police to immediately arrest the deaf old woman in the backyard of No. 95 and retrieve the weapons from the secret room. Also, after you've caught her, you and Comrade Wang Xia must immediately bring that letter to me."

"Yes, sir! Mission accomplished!" Wu Jiangyong hung up the phone, looked at Zhang Qiang and Wang Xia, and said, "You've heard the orders from above. I won't repeat them. Comrade Zhang Qiang, it's up to you police officers now."

"Yes, sir!" After receiving the order, Zhang Qiang immediately returned to the police station to gather his men. After meeting up with the people from the Military Control Commission, they headed straight for No. 95 Nanluoguxiang.

"Gentlemen, what brings you here today?!" Yang Ruihua, who was making shoes at the entrance of the courtyard, immediately put down what he was doing and greeted Wu Jiangyong and Wang Xia with a smile when he saw them arrive.

Wu Jiangyong asked, "Has the deaf old lady gone out?!"

Yang Ruihua paused for a moment, then shook her head and replied, "No!"

Wu Jiangyong gave Zhang Qiang a wink. Zhang Qiang ordered, "You two stay at the door. The rest of you, come with me!" With that, Zhang Qiang led the way, heading straight for the backyard.

Not long after, the sound of a door being kicked open came from the backyard, followed by a series of fighting sounds. After about five or six minutes, the deaf old woman's house became quiet. Wu Jiangyong led Wang Xia into the deaf old woman's house and saw that she had been subdued. He then looked at Zhang Qiang.

Zhang Qiang said, "That old lady is really something. She almost got caught off guard."

Wang Xia walked to the bedside and casually picked up the cane leaning against the headboard. Suddenly, she felt that the weight was a bit off. Wang Xia carefully examined the cane in her hand.

Wu Jiangyong asked, "What's wrong?!"

Wang Xia didn't say much. She twisted her cane, and a short sword was pulled out. Then, the policeman next to her took out a gun from a hidden compartment in the bedside table.

Seeing this, the deaf old woman knew she was doomed. Wu Jiangyong, who was standing to the side, snorted when he saw the old woman's reaction, and then said to Zhang Qiang, "I'll leave this to you."

Zhang Qiang nodded and said, "Alright! You can go now!" Then he asked, "Should we deliver the things from the secret room to the Military Control Commission or to my side?"
