Chapter 35 Alienated Eagle
Mo Yang waited on the beach all morning but Niu Kou Shui didn't come back. Bored, he unconsciously walked into the forest.
However, they didn't go towards Niu Kou Shui's house; if they got too close, the male animals there would spot them.
Mo Yang was wandering around nearby when he saw a little phoenix chasing a sparrow.
"There's even a phoenix!" Mo Yang exclaimed in surprise. Upon closer inspection, it appeared to be a young ox-mouthed creature, as there were no other beastmen living nearby.
Bored, Mo Yang quietly lay down on the grass and watched Xiao Fengqing chase sparrows.
If you chase too many, you won't be able to catch them.
A short while later, Xiao Fengqing was seen disappearing and reappearing.
"He can actually become invisible! He's got talent!" Mo Yang nodded in approval as he lay there. "No wonder he's the Holy Mother's child."
I dare not imagine how gifted he must be to give birth to a little black dragon.
Just as Mo Yang was lying there with his eyes half-closed, lost in his daydreams, something unexpected suddenly happened.
Phoenix Qing, with its golden-red downy feathers, flapped its short wings and chased after a few hopping sparrows into the forest. It was running too fast and didn't notice the shadow that swept through the branches above its head—a mutated eagle with a wingspan of more than ten feet, its iron claws gleaming with a dark purple light, suddenly swooping down.
Feng Qing felt a sharp pain on the back of her neck, but before she could cry out, she was gripped by an eagle's talons. In the excruciating pain, Feng Qing instinctively activated her invisibility ability; her golden-red feathers instantly concealed her outline. However, the mutated eagle's talons seemed to possess a suction force, locking tightly into her flesh, preventing her from escaping in the slightest. She frantically kicked and twisted in the air, her wingtips creating fine, dark red cracks in the air, yet she couldn't even harm the eagle's feathers. The eagle's wings flapped violently, soaring into the sky, a series of harsh, hoarse cries erupting from its throat. The sound pierced the forest, startling the birds in flight.
The eagle circled higher and higher, its cries echoing one after another, as if showing off its unexpected prey, dragging the small figure hidden under its claws, with only faint silver-blue cracks visible, into the churning clouds high in the sky.
"Jin Fei, Feng Yu, did you hear that sound?"
"I heard it." Feng Yu replied with a frown. Why would there be an eagle calling nearby? He had surveyed the area and found no dangerous prey.
Niu Kou Shui felt a vague unease in his heart.
"Jin Xuan, Feng Qing," Niu Kou Shui called out twice as he walked out of the cave.
Little Jinxuan heard the sound and ran over from the stream.
"What's wrong, Mom?"
"Jin Xuanbao, where's your older brother?" Niu Koushui asked.
"Huh? I don't know?" Xiao Jinxuan scratched his head. They hadn't played together, so he didn't know where Feng Qingfei had gone.
"Feng Yu, hurry up and go find her." Niu Kou Shui's tone was somewhat anxious.
"Okay, I'll go right away." Feng Yu looked around at the sky, but there wasn't a trace of an eagle.
"Don't worry, Mother, Big Brother must not have noticed that he flew far away," Little Jinxuan said, holding Niu Koushui's hand.
"Okay, Little Golden Xuan, help your mother water the scallions, don't run too far."
"it is good."
Niu Kou Shui sat on the swing under the big tree, looking in the direction Feng Yu had left, hoping that he would call Xiao Feng Qing back soon.
A sudden cry pierced the silence in the forest. Mo Yang abruptly opened his eyes, his golden pupils as cold as blades—he had just run into the mutated eagle, which was clutching a small, invisible figure with dark red cracks in its claws as it soared into the sky.
Without a second thought, black mist rose around Mo Yang, his scales clanging as he instantly transformed into his true form as a black dragon. With a flap of his wings, he broke through the air and gave chase. The eagle flew incredibly fast, its sharp claws almost digging into Feng Qing's flesh. Mo Yang's eyes darkened, and he activated his special ability, his figure vanishing abruptly. The next second, he teleported precisely behind the eagle.
Mo Yang dared not directly spit out his breath to injure the eagle, fearing he might accidentally harm the cubs. Instead, he opened his mouth and spewed out clusters of crimson fireballs, which grazed the eagle's wingtips and exploded. The scorching air waves caused the eagle to screech and veer off course, but it still held tightly to Feng Qing.
After several exchanges, Mo Yang completely lost his patience. His dragon tail swept out with a strong wind, striking the eagle's left wing. The eagle was in pain and lost its balance. Mo Yang seized this momentary opening, teleported again, and his dragon claws precisely gripped the eagle's neck, forcefully pulling it down.
An eagle and a dragon clashed high in the sky, their silver-blue cracks intertwined with crimson flames. Mo Yang was wary of Feng Qing beneath his claws, his movements restricted at every turn. But when the eagle grew fierce and tried to peck at its cub, he finally stopped holding back. His dragon breath, carrying destructive power, bypassed Feng Qing and struck the eagle's head directly.
Dark purple blood splattered, and the mutated eagle's body stiffened for a moment before plummeting like a kite with a broken string. Mo Yang swooped down and caught Xiao Fengqing, who had been freed from her restraints and revealed her form. With a gentle flap of his dragon wings, he slowly landed on the clearing in the forest.
Seeing that Xiao Fengqing's wings were bleeding and she had already fainted, Mo Yang didn't have time to hesitate. After all, she was just a cub and needed to be treated quickly.
However, we still need to send him back to his mother first.
Mo Yang raised his hand and opened a spatial portal, appearing near the cave in a moment.
Feng Yu rushed over after hearing the fighting, only to find the mutated eagle's corpse. The blood on the eagle's claws was indeed Feng Qing's scent.
The fact that the child wasn't there meant that everything was alright for the time being. Afraid that Niu Kou Shui would worry, Feng Yu hurried home to tell Niu Kou Shui and then continue the search herself.
Mo Yang had already appeared in front of the big tree, carrying Xiao Fengqing.
Jin Fei was about to ask who this person was when Niu Koushui rushed over and took Xiao Fengqing.
"What's wrong?" Niu Kou Shui Shou trembled, and before he could avoid Mo Yang, he began to raise his hand to treat Xiao Feng Qing.
Mo Yang vividly described how he inadvertently stumbled upon and saved Xiao Fengqing...
Mo Yang was clearly surprised; he hadn't expected this Holy Maiden to be a witch doctor!
Jin Fei walked over and stood next to Niu Kou Shui, her gaze towards Mo Yang clearly unfriendly.
Mo Yang didn't mind, nor did he leave.
Xiao Jinxuan watched Xiao Fengqing with concern, worried that her mother's arms would get tired from holding her.
Xiao Jinxuan brought out a stool and placed it next to Niu Kou Shui.
Niu Kou Shui put Xiao Feng Qing down and patted Xiao Jin Xuan.
Fortunately, the wound on the wing only looked deep; Xiao Fengqing had probably fainted from blood loss.
Mo Yang watched from the side, increasingly surprised. This Holy Mother's healing ability was so strong, and her wounds healed very quickly. The green light she emitted looked very powerful.
Just then, Feng Yu returned in a great hurry, carrying the corpse of the dead eagle.
They saw a strange orc standing in front of the cave, while the female master was still healing Xiao Fengqing.
Although the wound had healed, the mutated eagle's claws were poisonous, and the cow saliva used a lot of its supernatural abilities to purify the toxins.
It was very quiet in front of the cave, and large beads of sweat were dripping from Niu Kou Shui's forehead.
"It's alright, carry Feng Qing inside to rest." Niu Kou Shui said to Feng Yu, but almost fell because he lost his balance. Luckily, Jin Fei caught him in time.
Mo Yang silently withdrew his hand, which had been hovering in mid-air, and touched his nose.
"I remember you, the one who sells luminous pearls. Thank you so much for today, but I'm really tired. Come back tomorrow, and I'll cook something delicious to thank you," Niu Kou Shui said weakly.
"Uh... okay." Seeing how weak Niu Kou Shui was, Mo Yang wanted to take out the green crystal from his space and give it to him, but after looking at his beast husband, he thought that he really didn't have the status.
See you tomorrow.
