"Get things done?" Lin Xiuer was going all out, picking up a machete and stepping forward to block the stall.

She knew that if she made a move today, she would never have peace again.

"That's perfect! Go and call Zhang Mazi here! Let him tell me in person whether every penny I, Lin Xiuer, earn from selling pancakes must be handed over to Master Zhao at the end of the month!"

"Now that you've taken this money, do you think Master Zhao will chop off my hand or tear your entire Black Fish Gang apart and boil you into soup?!"

Lin Xiuer's words were half true and half false, and those around her immediately understood.

So it turns out he owed Zhao Yanwang a debt! No wonder he fought so hard, daring to challenge the Black Fish Gang. Zhao Tianba's reputation in Peach Blossom Town is so great it could stop children from crying at night.

The Black Fish Gang sounds intimidating, but Monkey Three and Bald Lai Zi are, in the end, just a bunch of low-level thugs.

They might be okay with bullying honest vendors, but when it comes to Zhao Yanwang's personal interests, they get really nervous.

Monkey Three and Lai Zi's expressions changed, and they exchanged a glance.

Zhang Mazi and his gang dared not call for help, for if they offended Lei Dachui, the number one leader of Xinglongfang, wiping out their Black Fish Gang would be a piece of cake.

Lin Xiuer took a step forward, her finger almost poking Hou San's face: "Your Black Fish Gang may be tough, but are you tougher than Master Zhao? How many guts do you have to try and steal meat from Master Zhao's pot?!"

Bald Lai Zi was a little scared and looked at Monkey Three.

Monkey Three's face alternated between pale and flushed as a growing crowd of onlookers pointed and whispered. Losing face, he roared, his bravado masking his fear, "Lin Da Pang, stop trying to scare people!"

"Am I bluffing?" Lin Xiuer pointed to the bruise on her forehead that hadn't completely faded.

"See that? Last month, Zhang Mazi came to collect the debt, and I almost hanged myself but failed! Master Zhao personally gave me the deadline: ten taels of silver by the end of the month!"

"You want money now? Fine! Come on! Let's settle this account first! Let's see if this money is yours or Master Zhao's! If we can't figure it out, we'll go find Zhang Mazi right now and settle it in front of Master Zhao!"

These words hit the nail on the head, and Bald Lai Zi completely chickened out. He tugged at Monkey Three's sleeve and whispered, "Third Brother, how about... we let it go? This woman is reckless when she's crazy, and what if she really gets involved with Master Zhao..."

Even Monkey Three wouldn't dare gamble with his life. Would he really dare to steal Zhao Tianba's money? Wouldn't that be courting death?

He glared at Lin Xiuer, then glanced warily at the man behind her who had remained silent but stood like a mountain.

Finally, he squeezed out through gritted teeth, "Fine! Fatty Lin, you've got guts! We'll see!"

"I'm waiting!" Lin Xiuer retorted without backing down. "I sell pancakes here every day! I'm always ready for Master Zhao and Brother Ma to come and check the accounts!"

Monkey Three glared at Lin Xiuer, then, pulling Bald Lai Zi along, squeezed out of the crowd amidst boos and jeers.

They didn't even bother to collect the money from the other stalls they were supposed to collect, and slunk away at the end of the market.

There was a moment of silence in front of Lin Xiuer's stall, then a burst of discussion erupted.

"My goodness, Lin Da Pang really dares to say that..."

"But what you say makes sense. They even dare to steal Zhao Yanwang's money?"

"These pancakes smell so good, and they only make a penny or two each? The proprietress is so kind! Give me two with extra meat!"

Lin Xiuer's heart was still beating a little fast. Hearing this, she took a deep breath and put on a smile again: "Coming right away, but I didn't expect the neighbors to be so supportive today. We don't have much food left, only two or three pieces."

She apologized to the people waiting in line, her hands still trembling slightly.

Ping An gently squeezed her hand that was hanging by her side, looking at her with tender eyes.

"It's alright," Lin Xiuer turned around and smiled, "They want to steal food from my mouth? No way!"

Although she scared off the two thugs, she knew it was just a temporary measure.

Those two thugs will know when they get back that she was bluffing, and Zhao Tianba won't really protect her.

But if the Black Fish Gang comes to rob her again, disrupting her business, and she can't repay the gambling den's debts, she'll have no choice but to default on them.

Once she chooses to back down, she'll never be able to turn things around in this lifetime.

Butcher Hu gave Lin Xiuer a thumbs-up, "Little sister, you're amazing!"

Lin Xiuer chuckled and picked up the rolling pin again.

After selling the last egg pancake, Lin Xiuer happily held the money box and weighed it in her hand.

The small box was heavy, and the clinking of the copper coins inside was crisp and pleasant. She couldn't help but smile and turn to give Ping An a smile.

"The harvest was pretty good! We'll stock up on more ingredients today, and we're sure to sell even more tomorrow!"

He then turned to Butcher Hu, who was deboning meat, and shouted, "Old Hu! I didn't expect business to go so smoothly today. I'll make up for the bread I owe you tomorrow! I'll definitely give you an extra slice of meat as compensation!"

Hu Yidao laughed heartily and waved his hand, "We're like family, no need to be so polite! With your fragrant pancake stall right next to me, I've sold a lot more meat than usual today!"

As the group was chatting and laughing, a commotion suddenly broke out at the street corner, accompanied by impatient shouts and the sound of things being knocked over.

Lin Xiuer's heart tightened, thinking that the two thugs from the Black Fish Gang were still persistent and had called their men back.

Her first instinct was to shove the box full of money into Ping An's hands and let him run away with it.

But upon closer inspection, it turned out that it wasn't Monkey Three and Bald Lai Zi's gang who had arrived.

Two men who looked like servants roughly pushed through the crowd, clearing a path.

A young man with a fat head and big ears, dressed in a silk shirt, strolled in, pretending to wave a folding fan.

A pair of tiny, beady eyes, squeezed together by fat, darted around, a smug, condescending look on their face.

This man was none other than Wu Liangcai, the only son of Wu Shiren, the village head of Peach Blossom Town.

"Why is this spoiled brat at the market again?" Butcher Hu's expression changed, and he muttered a curse under his breath.

The previously noisy stalls around them quieted down considerably. The stall owners either lowered their heads or turned around and pretended to be very busy, afraid of being noticed by this young master.

Who doesn't know Wu Liangcai's character? He bullies men and women, idles away his time, and is the tyrant of Peach Blossom Town.

Wu Liangcai himself clearly enjoyed the feeling of being the center of attention and being the only one who mattered. He waved his fan, walked with his feet turned outwards, and glanced at the stalls on both sides, looking as relaxed as if he were strolling in his own backyard.

His gaze swept over the chicken and duck vendors, over the vegetable vendors, over Hu Yidao's greasy meat counter...

Then, it stopped on the small cart that Lin Xiuer had half-finished, where the unique aroma of soy sauce still lingered in the air.

In particular, his gaze lingered for several seconds on the tall, handsome man beside Lin Xiuer, whose simple clothes couldn't conceal his dignified presence.

A glint of jealousy and curiosity flashed in his small eyes.

Ping An was focused on tidying up the spice jars on the cutting board, completely ignoring the gazes directed at him.
