The blind boss's nanny

Chapter 200, I'll only say this once.

Lu Tingxi stood in the middle of the ruins, his chest heaving, his voice trembling slightly with excitement:

"I'm not as crazy as you! Playing with other people's lives like a joke, devising such a despicable trap to test Qin Xiu!"

She turned sharply to Lu Tingzhao, her eyes filled with anger:

"Big brother! What did Qin Xiu do wrong?! He's served our Lu family for so many years, and today he risked his life to save you! And what about you?!"

"Do you think I can't see it?!"

She almost screamed it out.

"From the moment you sidelined him until today's inexplicable 'fire'! Do you think I, Lu Tingxi, am a fool?!"

Lu Tingzhou was completely enraged by his sister's out-of-control behavior. He pointed at Lu Tingxi's nose and cursed her without thinking:

"I see you really inherited your mother's talents! Throwing tantrums and behaving like a madman, completely out of control! Daring to overturn the table and smash things in front of your older brother! Who gave you the guts?!"

He took a step closer, his anger blazing, his tone harsh:

"Apologize to me right now! Apologize to your brother! Or believe me, I'll make sure that Qin Xiu is fired tomorrow!"

"Give it a try!"

Lu Tingxi met his gaze without flinching, refusing to yield an inch.

"Try touching him!"

The brother and sister were at loggerheads, exchanging words back and forth, their fierce argument nearly lifting the roof off the restaurant.

Aunt Mei and several servants had heard the commotion long ago, but at this moment they only dared to hide far away at the corner of the corridor, not daring to even breathe loudly.

Lu Tingzhao remained seated, expressionless, watching the family storm he had personally instigated unfold before him.

The broken pieces of porcelain were at his feet, and soup had splashed onto the cuffs of his expensive trousers.

He slowly picked up the cup of tea that he hadn't finished drinking again.

Deep within his eyes lay an unfathomable, icy pool.

"Tingzhou,"

Lu Tingzhao spoke, his voice not loud, but clearly drowning out all the remaining noise.

"You can go out now."

Lu Tingzhou wanted to say something, but when he met his older brother's calm and unwavering eyes, all the words stuck in his throat. He gritted his teeth, glared fiercely at Lu Tingxi, and slammed the door shut as he left.

Only the brother and sister remained in the restaurant, amidst the devastation.

"Have you vented your anger?"

He asked, his tone indifferent.

Lu Tingxi stiffened his neck and remained silent, but his eyes couldn't help but redden.

Lu Tingzhao's gaze swept over her stubborn profile, and a complex expression flashed quickly in the depths of his eyes.

But soon, that ripple sank to the bottom of an even deeper pool.

"You feel wronged. You feel that we shouldn't have tested Qin Xiu."

Lu Tingzhao's voice remained steady, as if stating objective facts.

"You think his 'loyalty' and 'courage' shown today are enough to prove everything, right?"

Lu Tingxi immediately looked up, instinctively wanting to refute.

Lu Tingzhao raised his hand and made a very slight gesture to stop him.

"Tingxi, this home, this place,"

He pointed to the seat he was sitting in.

"It may look sleek and solid, but how many eyes are watching it from the bottom, how many hands are trying to topple it, how many schemes are brewing in the dark... You've never really seen it for yourself."

His tone wasn't exactly harsh, but every word was like an icicle, piercing Lu Tingxi's eardrums:

"You're willing to overturn the table for him today. What if something worse happens tomorrow? Are you going to rip the roof off the entire Lu family home?"

He paused, looking at his sister's face, which had turned pale in an instant, and his tone became admonishing:

"Tingxi, rein in your temper."

He stood up, his voice regaining its usual calm:

"That's enough for today. You've overturned the table, and you've vented your anger. But I'll only say this once."

"I have my own judgment about Qin Xiu. As for you..."

His gaze lingered on her face for a moment.

"Remember my words. Otherwise, you won't be able to get away with it so easily every time you flip the table."

After he finished speaking, he turned and walked towards the door. His steps were steady, stepping over the mess on the ground.

The man paused at the door, but without turning around, he said calmly:

"Pack yourself up. You can go back to the main building tonight, and you don't need to go back for the next few days."

The door was gently closed.

Lu Tingxi lowered his head dejectedly, burying his burning cheeks in his palms, his shoulders trembling slightly uncontrollably.

After the anger subsided, what remained was a sense of bewilderment and a deeper sense of panic.

Aunt Mei finally entered quietly with two maids to clean up the mess. She looked at the frail and helpless young lady before her and sighed silently.

She reached out and gently touched her trembling shoulder, offering her a clean, soft handkerchief.

"Miss, Aunt Mei is just taking advantage of her age. If I may say something... you really shouldn't have acted that way just now."

She paused, her gaze sweeping worriedly over the sharp shards of porcelain and the overturned, heavy ornaments on the floor, her tone growing even heavier:

"The chairman's eyesight... is not good. If you suddenly flip the table like that, things will fly everywhere. What if... what if the chairman gets hurt?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Lu Tingxi looked up immediately. All the color drained from her face, and her eyes widened in belated terror.

Brother, were you hurt by the flying shards? Were you splashed with soup?

Things happened too fast and too suddenly. She acted entirely out of a burning anger and resentment. The act of flipping the table came without warning, and she immediately got into a fierce argument with her second brother. No one paid any attention to her eldest brother.

How could she forget?

Aunt Mei saw her face turn deathly pale and the regret in her eyes, and knew that she had taken her words to heart. She didn't say anything more, but silently instructed the servants to speed up the cleanup.

As she watched the once expensive and exquisite utensils on the ground turn into fragments, Aunt Mei couldn't help but sigh deeply again, reminiscing about that always vibrant figure.

If Lin Xiaoman were here, Aunt Mei thought to herself.

Although that girl sometimes acts unconventionally and doesn't follow the rules, she always has a way of easing tension. With her quirky ideas and straightforward, warm concern, she can coax the usually stern-faced chairman into... at least relaxing his brow.

Lu Tingxi stood frozen in place, his fingers twisting the handkerchief Aunt Mei had given him.

She began to regret her actions and reflect on her impulsiveness.

Did I really hurt my brother's feelings by doing this?

But... what about Qin Xiu?

Qin Xiu was also very good. His kindness towards her was a different kind of patience, an extreme form of tolerance and companionship. He never judged her spoiled princess temper; he simply smiled and indulged her in his own way, even... finding it sweet.

She admitted that she had a bad personality, was spoiled and willful, and couldn't stand the slightest grievance. Like an over-pampered rose, she was covered in thorns and few people could truly tolerate her.
