Chapter 353 I'm not playing with you guys anymore
Li Haotian pulled Lin Mo along. He looked at the collapsed teaching building. Wu Sen's breath was still underground. The stench hadn't dissipated.
Lin Mo suddenly tugged at his hand. She looked up. Lin Mo was looking at the sky.
"Haotian," Lin Mo said. "The clouds in the sky have become a deeper color."
Li Haotian followed Lin Mo's gaze. Above the city, a thin layer of purple mist descended.
That wasn't ordinary fog. Within the thin mist, a faint flash of lightning could be seen.
"And another thing," Lin Mo wrinkled his nose. "This bitter taste."
Lin Mo pointed around. Her face was a little pale. "It's much thicker than before."
Li Haotian felt the ground beneath his feet. It was trembling slightly. It wasn't just Wu Sen's power.
An unusual energy fluctuation is rising throughout Donghai City.
The stench of rotting lilies permeated the air. It had become stronger than ever before.
Li Haotian stopped in his tracks. He didn't rush into the ruins. He looked up.
"Su Wan," Li Haotian said into his headset. His voice was deep.
"These bugs," Li Haotian said. "They're never going to stop."
"Put up a map of Donghai City for me," Li Haotian said. "Mark all the abnormal energy points."
Su Wan's voice came through the earpiece. "Received, Brother Dazhu," Su Wan said. Her tone was somewhat hurried.
"I noticed it a while ago," Su Wan said. "An area of surging energy. It's expanding."
Li Haotian looked at Lin Mo. Lin Mo hugged his arm tightly. She buried her face in his shoulder.
"It's uncomfortable," Lin Mo said. "The bitterness makes it uncomfortable."
Li Haotian patted Lin Mo on the back. Su Wan's voice rang out again.
"The map has been sent," Su Wan said. "Brother Dazhu."
A virtual map appeared before Li Haotian's eyes. Green dots flashed on the map.
These points of light represent areas of abnormal energy fluctuations.
The lights were densely packed, scattered throughout every corner of Donghai City.
An abandoned cannery in the northern suburbs. There's a huge red warning dot there.
Here at Tunghai University, there's also a glaring red spot of light.
There are also a few unfamiliar areas. They are yellow on the map. They are slowly turning red.
Li Haotian pointed with his finger. He drew several circles on the map.
"Here," Li Haotian said. He pointed to the northern suburbs.
"And here too." He pointed to Tunghai University.
"These are the new red dots," Li Haotian said. "What's going on with them?"
Su Wan's voice was serious. "Based on data analysis," Su Wan said, "these are the biological laboratories used by the pioneers for pharmaceutical production."
"They experience a surge in energy within a short period of time," Su Wan said.
"The frequency and magnitude of the surge," Su Wan said. "It's higher than ever before."
Li Haotian looked around. Golden light shimmered in his eyes. He understood.
"I'm not playing with them anymore," Li Haotian said softly.
But his words were filled with chilling murderous intent.
"Lin Mo." Li Haotian looked at the girl in his arms. Lin Mo looked up at him.
"Let's go," Li Haotian said. "We're going to have a big meal."
"Eat all that bitterness," Li Haotian said.
Lin Mo's eyes lit up. She didn't ask where they were going to eat. She just nodded vigorously.
"Braised pork," Lin Mo said, her voice tinged with anticipation.
Li Haotian raised his head. He looked up at the sky. The thin layer of purple mist had grown thicker.
"Su Wan," Li Haotian said.
"Lock down on the core stronghold of Pioneer Pharmaceuticals," Li Haotian said.
"The energy fluctuations are the strongest," Li Haotian said. "The deepest, most concealed place."
Su Wan was silent for two seconds. She was calculating. She was analyzing.
"Analyzing it now," Su Wan said. "The data is massive."
"I need three seconds," Su Wan said.
Li Haotian did not answer. He held Lin Mo in his arms. He no longer concealed his power.
The Golden Crow True Blood within his body began to surge.
A surge of golden-red energy erupted from Li Haotian's body.
This energy, like magma, burst forth from Li Haotian's body.
Golden-red flames gathered behind Li Haotian. They materialized.
The flames formed a pair of enormous wings.
Its wings were spread. It was several meters wide. Flames danced at the edges.
The surrounding rubble and debris were instantly vaporized by the heat wave.
The smell of rotting lilies in the air was dispelled by the scorching flames.
Lin Mo nestled in Li Haotian's arms. She felt a warmth. She felt safe.
She looked up at the pair of fiery wings. In her eyes, they reflected a golden-red hue.
"So beautiful," Lin Mo said.
Chen Dong and the Dragon Shield team members were stunned by this sudden and unusual phenomenon.
They looked at Li Haotian. He was holding Lin Mo. He was bathed in golden-red flames.
The ground beneath Li Haotian's feet was parched by flames. It began to crack.
"This..." Chen Dong's mouth opened. He couldn't close it.
He had never seen such power before.
"Brother Dazhu..." Chen Dong murmured to himself. His voice trembled.
The Dragon Shield team members around him were equally dumbfounded.
Their hands gripped their weapons tightly. They began to tremble.
That is a power that humans cannot comprehend.
"Brother Dazhu, the coordinates have been locked!" Su Wan's voice came through. Her voice trembled slightly.
"Outside the northern coastline," Su Wan said. "A secret island codenamed 'The Abyss'."
"The signal source is extremely well-hidden," Su Wan said. "The intensity of the energy fluctuations is beyond what is normal."
"Abyss Island," Li Haotian repeated the name. His eyes gleamed with golden light.
"Okay," Li Haotian said. "Let's go there for a big meal."
He held Lin Mo in his arms. He then pushed off the ground with both feet.
Li Haotian soared into the sky. Golden-red wings appeared behind him. They were carried along.
Its wings flapped, creating a violent gust of air.
Gravel and debris. They were blown into the sky by the air currents. They fell like raindrops.
Li Haotian carried Lin Mo. They transformed into a golden-red streak of light and soared into the sky.
A streak of light. It pierced through the purple mist above the city. It headed straight for the coastline of Donghai City.
Their speed. It was astonishing. In the blink of an eye, they disappeared into the horizon.
The Dragon Shield team members. They looked up at the sky. Their faces were filled with shock.
"Notify headquarters." Chen Dong snapped back to reality. His voice carried a command.
"High alert," Chen Dong said. "All Dragon Shield forces. Assemble them all."
"Target. The 'Abyss' island where the pioneers make medicine," Chen Dong said.
"At all costs," Chen Dong said. "Support Brother Dazhu."
He finished speaking. He looked up at the sky. The golden-red streak of light was no longer visible.
"Is this his true face?" Chen Dong murmured to himself. A storm raged within him.
High in the sky, Li Haotian held Lin Mo in his arms as they weaved through the purple clouds.
Golden-red wings. It swept through the purple mist, leaving trails of light in its wake.
Lin Mo lifted her head from Li Haotian's shoulder. She looked down at the city below.
The entire city of Donghai was shrouded in a thick layer of purple mist.
Lightning. It leaped through the mist. It crackled and popped.
On the ground, those originally glaring red dots became even more conspicuous.
They are like beating hearts. They pulsate in the veins of the city.
"Bitter," Lin Mo said. Her finger pointed downwards.
"There are so many of them," Lin Mo said.
Li Haotian glanced down at the red dots. They were becoming increasingly dense.
"That's right," Li Haotian said. "So we're going to have a big meal."
"Go and eat all the bitterest things," Li Haotian said.
He quickened his pace. Golden-red wings. They became even more intense.
They were like meteorites. They streaked across the night sky. They flew towards the edge of Donghai City.
That pitch-black ocean. It spread out below.
The sea breeze carried a fishy smell. It brushed against Li Haotian's face.
But mixed in with the fishy smell was also that familiar stench of rotting lilies.
In the distance. Where the sea meets the sky. A dark shadow. It gradually becomes clearer.
It was an island. Its outline. It was blurred in the night.
Thick purple clouds also shrouded the sky above the island.
Deep within the clouds, a vast complex of buildings is faintly visible, shimmering with an eerie light.
That was the pioneers' lair for making medicine. That was the "Abyss" island.
Lin Mo hugged Li Haotian tightly. She looked at the island.
"Haotian," Lin Mo said. Her voice was very soft.
"There," Lin Mo said. "It seems there are... lots and lots of... sweet things."
Li Haotian did not answer. His eyes sharpened.
A golden-red light. It danced in his pupils. He stared straight ahead.
A huge island. It's getting closer and closer.
A real "feast" is about to begin.
