"Grand Commander, what should we do with these people?" Chen Heng asked, pointing to the corpses scattered on the ground.

"Drag them to the roadside and cover them with gravel, so as not to frighten passersby. Take the horses and any usable weapons with you," Lin Feng ordered.

The battlefield was quickly cleaned up, and everyone remounted.

"Miss Fengling, Miss Fengjue," Lin Feng slowed his horse to ride alongside the two sisters, "Thank you both for your help earlier. Your swordsmanship is exquisite, and your composure in the face of danger is truly admirable. May I ask your teachers?"

Feng Ling glanced at Lin Feng, a complex emotion flashing in her cool eyes, and said in a low voice, "My family's skills are just a little bit rudimentary, I'm afraid the Grand Commander will find it laughable. The Lord sent my sisters and me here, so we will do our best."

Feng Jue interrupted, "The Grand Commander is truly amazing! Those bad guys couldn't last three moves against you! My sister and I learned our kung fu from someone hired by the Lord, who said it was to give us some self-defense skills and, incidentally... help with small errands like running errands and delivering messages." She seemed to realize she had said too much, stuck out her tongue, and glanced at her sister.

Fengling frowned slightly, glared at her younger sister, but said nothing more.

Lin Feng understood. These sisters were no ordinary "errand runners." Their skills, composure, and even the way they bandaged wounds all indicated that they had received rigorous training, possibly even some kind of special system.

He didn't press further. Everyone has their own secrets; as long as their goals align, they can work together for the time being.

"Fifty miles ahead lies the territory of 'Blackstone Town.' Once we get there, we need to be extra careful." Lin Feng changed the subject. "'Crimson Abyss' has an important stronghold there, using 'Tongyuan Horse Stables' as cover. We may have to stop there to gather information, or even... take action."

"I will obey the Grand Commander's orders." Fengling nodded.

"Blackrock Town? It sounds so desolate," Feng Jue muttered to himself.

After two days of rapid travel, Blackstone Town was already in sight.

The town is situated in a valley between two mountains, and it gets its name from the fact that the surrounding mountains are mostly gray-black.

The town is small, but as an important passage connecting Longxi, the northern border and the grasslands, it is bustling with merchants and travelers.

Lin Feng and his group dismounted three miles outside the town and left their horses at a reliable inn. The rest of them disguised themselves as a small caravan from the Central Plains heading north to purchase furs, splitting into two or three groups and gradually blending into the town.

Lin Feng, Chen Heng, and the Feng sisters, Feng Ling and Feng Jue, formed a group, posing as the caravan owner and his family. Lin Feng sported a small mustache, slightly embellished his appearance, and donned a worn silk robe, with a long sword hanging at his waist, truly resembling a merchant. Chen Heng acted as the steward, while Feng Ling and Feng Jue wore veils that covered their faces, following behind Lin Feng with their heads bowed and obedient.

"Tongyuan Horse Stable" is located at the western end of Heishi Town, occupying a large area. It is surrounded by a tall wooden fence, inside which are rows of stables, a hay yard full of hay, and several rather imposing wooden and stone structures.

Lin Feng and his "family" sat down by the window on the second floor of a teahouse across the street. They ordered a pot of coarse tea and some dried fruit, seemingly to rest, but in reality, they were taking in the situation inside and outside the horse stable.

"The guards are very tight," Feng Ling whispered through the thin veil of her hat. "The two men at the gate have slightly bulging temples, sharp eyes, and extremely stable stances; they're trained fighters. The patrols inside the courtyard move in unison at fixed intervals; they're trained private soldiers. The corner near the back gate, which looks like it's just a random pile of junk, has an excellent view; it must be a hidden sentry."

"There's also a very faint smell of sulfur and minerals." Feng Jue wrinkled her small nose and added, her sense of smell seemed unusually sensitive, "And... a faint fishy smell, like... old blood."

Lin Feng nodded slightly. These two sisters were indeed extraordinary. One was observant and meticulous, the other had a keen sense of smell; both were top-notch scout material.

"Chen Heng, arrange for our men to set up hidden sentries at several exits of the town and key locations around 'Tongyuan Horse Stables' to record all personnel and vehicles entering and leaving the stables, especially at night. Pay attention to whether there are any particularly heavy or heavily covered goods."

"Yes." Chen Heng understood and got up to go downstairs to make the arrangements.

"Wind Chime Girl, Wind Jade Girl," Lin Feng looked at the two sisters, "are you skilled in infiltration and reconnaissance?"

Fengling and Fengjue exchanged a glance, and Fengling nodded: "The Lord once had someone teach us some basic methods of stealth and trap detection. If the Grand Commander has any orders, please give them."

"I want to know the exact layout of the horse stable, especially the warehouse, cellar, and the location of any possible secret rooms. Also, I need to confirm the source of that sulfurous ore smell and the stench of blood," Lin Feng said. "After nightfall, could you sisters try to sneak in and investigate? Just get a clear picture of the situation, and don't alert them."

"Yes," Feng Ling replied without hesitation.

"Great! Finally, something to do!" Feng Jue seemed excited and eager to try.

That night, the moon was dark and the wind was high, with dark clouds obscuring the moon.

The Tongyuan Horse Stables remained brightly lit inside and out. Deep in the backyard, in a stone house that looked like an ordinary storeroom, candlelight flickered.

The room was simply furnished with only a wooden table and a few chairs.

Two people sat at the table. The one in the main seat was a gaunt old man in his fifties with a sallow complexion and a goatee. His eyes were sinister. He was the apparent manager of "Tongyuan Horse Shop" and also the person in charge of "Chiyuan" in this area, "Shan Kui".

Sitting below him was a burly man in leather armor with a rough face. He was a centurion from the Akabane tribe stationed here, named "Ulihan".

"Lord Mountain Demon, news has come from the mines that the 'Crimson Flame Crystal' ore we've recently unearthed seems to be of lower quality than before, and the subterranean fire is restless, with frequent collapses that have injured several slaves." Ulihan took a swig of mare's milk wine. "The 'Subterranean Fire' Venerable is pressing us hard, demanding we expedite the delivery to ensure it's sufficient for the sacrifice. But this awful weather, the roads are difficult to travel, and the checks in the south are very strict..."

"What's the panic?" Shan Kui stroked his goatee. "The quality is a bit lacking, just send more. If a slave dies, we can just catch another one. The secret passage to 'Flame Valley' is relatively safe. The south? Hmph, that brat Lin Feng is probably still on his way here, being held up by our people. Even if he comes to Black Stone Town, he won't find this place. As for you," he looked at Ulihan, "how's the 'sacrifice' you prepared?"
