Ulihan revealed a cruel smile: "Don't worry, sir. According to the birth dates and ages required by the 'Holy Lord,' we've captured seven boys and eight girls from several nearby villages. They're all locked in cellars, drugged, and behaving very well. When the time comes, they'll be sent to 'Flame Valley.'"

"Yes. This matter concerns the 'Holy Lord's' grand plan and cannot be allowed to fail. Increase the number of people guarding the cellar; we must not let those two-legged sheep escape, or... die." Shan Kui instructed.

"clear!"

The two then discussed in hushed tones some details regarding cargo transshipment and personnel allocation.

Unbeknownst to them, in the shadows of the stone house roof, two slender figures, almost blending into the night, were holding their breath and listening to their conversation clearly.

It was a wind chime and a wind scepter.

After listening to the conversation inside, Fengling made a gesture to her younger sister. The two of them, like nimble cats, silently slid off the roof, avoiding the patrolling guards, and quickly made their way deeper into the backyard, following the route they had observed during the day.

The further we went, the stronger the smell of sulfur and ore became, mixed with an indescribable, nauseating fishy odor.

In a corner piled with discarded horse tack, Feng Jue stopped and pointed to the ground. There was a bluestone slab there, the dust in the cracks around its edges a slightly different color than the surrounding area, suggesting it had been moved frequently.

Fengling crouched down, her fingertips groping along the edge of the stone slab until she quickly found a tiny bump. She pressed it.

"Click."

The stone slab sank slightly, then slid open about a foot to the side, revealing a dark, downward-pointing cave entrance. A strong smell of sulfur and fish wafted out. Faint firelight and suppressed sobbing could be heard from inside the cave.

It's a cellar! A place where "sacrificial offerings" are imprisoned!

The two sisters exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with anger.

Fengling gestured for Feng Jue to stay up there, and Feng Jue nodded, drawing his sword and disappearing into the shadows beside him. Fengling then took a deep breath, ducked down, and slid into the cave like a fish.

The cellar wasn't deep, but it was quite large. By the dim light of a few oil lamps on the walls, one could see a dozen or so ragged, emaciated children, chained to wooden stakes in the corner by thick iron chains. Most of them had blank expressions and empty eyes; a few younger ones were still sobbing softly. The air was thick with the stench of excrement and despair. Nearby were several large wooden crates, their lids ajar, revealing faint traces of crimson crystals inside.

Fengling suppressed her anger, quickly scanning the area to note the number and condition of the children, as well as the structure of the cellar. She noticed a smaller iron door in the corner, from which the smell of sulfur was even stronger.

The wind chime opened the small iron gate.

Behind the iron gate was a narrow passageway, thick with the pungent smell of sulfur, and noticeably warmer. At the end of the passageway, a faint red light flickered, accompanied by the clanging of hammers and the shouting of whips. It seemed to be a screening plant.

Fengling dared not venture any deeper. She memorized the directions and quickly retreated back to the cellar. She then exited the cellar via the same route and met up with Fengjue, who was waiting outside. The two restored the stone slab to its original state, erased the traces, and, under the cover of night, quietly left the backyard of "Tongyuan Horse Stables".

……

The two sisters returned to the small inn where they had stayed and reported everything they had found to Lin Feng in detail. Lin Feng's face was ashen.

"Fifteen children... a small-scale screening plant... the sacrificial ceremony is imminent..." Lin Feng spoke each word with a chilling coldness, "These beasts deserve to die!"

"Grand Commander, when shall we make our move?" Chen Heng's fists clenched so tightly they cracked.

"Tomorrow night at midnight. Fengling, Fengjue, immediately draw up the routes you've identified, the guard positions, the cellars, and the mine entrances. Chen Heng, gather all of us and assign tasks."

He turned, his gaze sweeping over everyone in the room: "Tomorrow night, we will dismantle this den of iniquity, rescue the children, destroy the screening plant, and capture Shan Kui and Ulihan! Remember, the operation must be swift and ruthless. Not a single person can escape, and the news cannot be leaked!"

"Yes!" The crowd responded in hushed tones, their killing intent palpable.

Lin Feng walked to the wall, took down the long, narrow leather sheath wrapped in coarse cloth, and slowly untied the cloth strips to reveal the long, sheathed sword inside.

"Tomorrow, we'll show these bastards what real malevolent energy is."

"Clang!"

A clear, resonant sound, like a dragon's roar, rang out as the Broken Mountain Blade was drawn half a foot from its sheath. The chilling aura of the blade instantly filled the entire room, causing the candlelight to flicker.

The Fengling and Fengjue sisters looked at the knife, feeling its chilling sharpness, and their eyes were filled with shock.

Once Duan Yue emerges, he will surely return drinking blood.

At midnight, Blackstone Town was completely silent. The towering wooden fence of "Tongyuan Horse Stables" in the west of the town resembled a lurking beast in the night, with a few dim lights flickering in the courtyard.

Chen Heng led four skilled members of the "Falcon Battalion" to occupy several high points and concealed corners outside the front gate, side gate, and back wall of the horse stable. With their crossbows nocked, they silently locked onto the watchtowers on the courtyard wall and the only access routes within the courtyard. Their mission was to clear the outer perimeter, block escape routes, and be ready to provide backup at any time.

Lin Feng, Feng Ling, Feng Jue, and four other elite members of the "Falcon Battalion," who were most skilled in close-quarters combat and ambushes, stealthily made their way to the corner in the backyard of the horse stable where discarded horse tack was piled up.

The loose bluestone slab that Fengling had discovered had now been pried open again, and a strong smell of sulfur and the faint sobbing of a child seeped out from the darkness below.

"As planned, Fengling, Fengjue, and I will go down to rescue people and clear the cellar. You four," Lin Feng whispered to the four elite soldiers, "guard this exit and keep watch on the tunnel leading to the mine. If a large group of enemies comes, immediately give the warning. Chen Heng and the others are outside; they will launch a full-scale attack to provide support once they hear the signal."

"Yes!" The four responded in a low voice, quickly dispersed, and disappeared into the surrounding shadows.

Lin Feng took a deep breath and slid into the cellar entrance first. Feng Ling and Feng Jue followed closely behind.

The scene inside the cellar was no different from what Fengling had seen the night before. Fifteen children were chained up, most of them drowsy, with only a few awake. When they saw the three dark figures that suddenly appeared, they trembled with fear but dared not cry out.

"Don't be afraid, we're here to save you." Lin Feng's voice wasn't loud, but it carried a strange, comforting power. He walked to the nearest wooden stake and drew his Broken Mountain Blade.

The iron chain lock, as thick as a child's arm, snapped in two as easily as rotten wood! The break was clean and smooth.

Seeing this, Fengling and Fengjue quickly sprang into action. Each of them held two specially made, slender iron skewers with hooks at the ends. They inserted them into the keyholes, flicked their wrists slightly, and with a soft "click," the lock springs sprang open. Their efficiency was surprisingly good. Clearly, they had received specialized training.

In a short while, the chains binding all fifteen children were unlocked. The children were bewildered, yet seemed to understand something; they supported each other and huddled together tightly.

"Follow this lady, don't make a sound, go out from upstairs, there will be people waiting for you outside," Lin Feng gestured to Feng Ling. The cellar entrance was narrow and required someone to guide them.

Wind Chime nodded and gestured for the children to "go up." Although frightened, the children's survival instincts drove them, and one by one, with Wind Chime's help, they struggled to climb upwards. Four elite "Falcon Battalion" soldiers waiting outside the cellar immediately took over and led the children to a safer hiding place.

Just as the last two children were about to climb out of the cellar, a jumble of footsteps and shouts suddenly came from the small iron gate leading to the passageway!

"What's going on? What's that noise coming from the cellar?"

"Go check on them! Make sure nothing happens to those little brats!"
