The next morning, Mulan did her morning exercises as usual.

Today's exercise is a weighted cross-country run combined with tactical maneuvers, covering a total distance of 20 kilometers.

Chen Zheng stood beside the starting line, holding a thermos.

Before setting off, he asked everyone to count off their equipment.

When Li Yue reported for duty, she was carrying a standard military pack, with an extra bulging camouflage bag tied to it, making her look like she was about to flee a disaster.

Chen Zheng glanced at the extra bag and frowned.

"What did you bring?"

Li Yue answered as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

"Spare magazines, tourniquets, compressed biscuits, a water bottle, a spare raincoat, and a pair of dry socks."

Chen Zheng's brows furrowed even more.

"The standard load limit I'm giving you is 20 kilograms. How much do you have in total?"

Li Yue thought for a moment, then looked up again.

"About thirty-five kilograms."

Ram, standing next to him, stared wide-eyed.

"Are you crazy? Running 20 kilometers carrying an extra 15 kilograms?"

Li Yue sighed, her voice tinged with a sense of vicissitude.

"There's no other way. If something goes wrong along the way, it would be even more of a loss if we forgot to bring anything."

"I'm just unlucky; all sorts of bad things happen to me. I don't feel at ease unless I'm prepared."

Ram's lips twitched. She wanted to refute, but then she felt that what Li Yue said didn't seem to make no mistake.

Being prepared is always the best policy; this principle applies at all times.

Chen Zheng stared at her for two seconds, but didn't ask her to lighten her load.

He knew that Li Yue was extremely insecure and always prepared for the worst in everything she did.

Now is not the time to force her to change.

Chen Zheng waved his hand, signaling to set off.

The team spread out, and the 20-kilometer weighted cross-country run officially began.

Li Yue was carrying a 35-kilogram load, and when she started, she was noticeably heavier than the others.

But after running three kilometers, her pace actually stabilized.

The steps were small and the pace was slow, but each step was firm and solid.

At the five-kilometer mark, she actually ran to the middle of the group, slightly ahead.

Ram watched her retreating figure from behind, marveling at her.

"His strength is only slightly less than Guo Huaiying's."

Guo Huaiying ran with her head down, and somehow she pulled out half a steamed bun, which she ate as she ran.

Hearing his name called, he turned to look at Ram, then turned back to continue gnawing.

During the off-road journey, we passed through an abandoned old training area.

This area was overgrown with weeds and looked almost like a ruin.

Chen Zheng had set up several simulated enemy positions in the area beforehand and required the team members to pass through in combat formation.

At An Ran's command, Mulan quickly launched a tactical infiltration.

Ram and Guo Huaiying led the charge, while Shen Doudou provided fire support from the rear.

Several simulated targets were eliminated one by one.

After clearing the last checkpoint, Anran counted the number of people.

One is missing.

Li Yue didn't follow.

Chen Zheng turned around and saw Li Yue squatting next to a sandbag simulating an enemy.

The sandbag had simulated magazines and smoke shell casings hanging on its body, and a red cloth strip pinned to its chest to mark the target.

Li Yue was stuffing items into her bag one by one.

He was dismantling things with his left hand, stuffing them in with his right, and scanning his surroundings for anything he might have missed.

Chen Zheng walked over and looked down at her.

"What are you doing?"

Li Yue didn't even look up, still stuffing things into her bag.

"Lick the bag."

Chen Zheng's lips twitched.

"These are training simulation equipment, not real supplies. Why are you looting them?"

Li Yue stopped what she was doing, looked up, and stared intently at Chen Zheng.

"Instructor, I know this is fake, but what if it becomes real someday? It's never a bad thing to make it a habit."

Chen Zheng looked at her, unsure of what to say.

Yao Yao squatted down next to her and curiously rummaged through Li Yuedi's camouflage bag.

It was already stuffed with a bunch of random things.

There were bullet casings picked up from the training ground, a few ropes that I don't know where they came from, a piece of wire, two pieces of gauze, and even a stone.

Yao Yao held up the stone, tilted her head, and asked.

"What is this?"

Li Yue glanced at it, her tone indifferent.

"I found it while I was doing a cross-country run last week. It has a nice shape and can be used as a throwing weapon in a pinch."

Yao Yao silently put the stone back.

Ram leaned closer to look at the contents of the bag, and even she, who was usually quite open to such things, couldn't help but twitch at the corner of her mouth.

"Are you Doraemon? You'd believe me if you said you brought a tent with you."

Li Yue replied expressionlessly.

"The tent was too heavy, so I brought a waterproof tarp, which serves a similar purpose."

Ram opened his mouth, then closed it again.

Chen Zheng quickly told her to put the simulator equipment back.

Li Yue did as instructed reluctantly, but was clearly unwilling. Every time she put something back, she muttered a word of complaint about the waste.

When she placed the last stone, she paused, lingered for a couple of moments before putting it back on the ground.

Seeing this, Chen Zheng understood what was going on.

This problem still needs to be corrected gradually.

After the cross-country race, Mulan gathered on the playground.

The team members were all panting heavily, and Ram collapsed to the ground.

Guo Huaiying stood straight, her breathing steady, and she was clutching half a sausage that she had somehow produced.

Chen Zheng stood at the front of the line and commented on each person's performance that day.

"An Ran, your tactical command was decisive, and the infiltration route was well chosen, but the second turning point could have been moved up five meters, which would have saved two seconds."

Anran nodded and wrote it down in her notebook.

"Guo Huaiying, your physical fitness is still strong, there's not much to say. Just eat less snacks, and I won't say anything if you eat some meat."

Guo Huaiying silently stuffed the sausage into her pocket.

"Ram".

Ram sprang up from the ground and stood up straight.

"We misjudged the third turn and almost revealed the team's position."

"Use your brain next time, not your knees."

Ram's face fell instantly.

When Li Yue was mentioned, Chen Zheng paused for a moment.

"Li Yue".

"arrive."

"You did well today. You carried the heaviest load, but your finishing time was fourth, which is an improvement over last month."

Li Yue was stunned.

The entire Mulan was stunned.

The instructor is actually praising Li Yue?!

This is the first time since Chen Zheng joined Mulan.

Li Yue was completely stunned. Her lips trembled slightly, and her eyes even reddened.

Chen Zheng frowned.

"Why are you crying?"

Li Yue quickly wiped her face with her sleeve.

"No, I didn't cry! I just got sand in my eyes!"

Ram muttered something under his breath.

"Where did the sand on the playground come from?"

Li Yue glared at her fiercely.

He then took a deep breath, composed himself, straightened his back, looked straight ahead, and shouted, "Yes, sir!"

Chen Zheng didn't say anything more and waved for everyone to disperse.

Ram was the first to rush over and put her arm around Li Yue's shoulder.

"Hey, hey, the instructor praised you! The instructor praised you! Do you know how rare it is for an instructor to praise someone? The last time he praised me was... wait, the instructor doesn't seem to have ever praised me before."

Li Yue was being held by her, and she kept saying "Stop fooling around," but she couldn't suppress the smile on her face.
