Chapter 177 The Master of Face-Changing

The next day, as usual, Li Zhen entered the restaurant early in the morning.

Ma Er, who had been sweating it out on the treadmill last night, was already busy in the kitchen wearing an apron. When he saw Li Zhen come in, he quickly brought out the carefully prepared breakfast.

Cyborg was originally assigned by the Justice League as the Teen Titans' logistics and technical advisor, but due to the patch incident following the Flash's awakening, Cyborg will probably be busy compiling data on changes around the world for the next few months.

As for Kronos, that guy hasn't fully passed the Justice League's "background check" process yet.

So Li Zhen talked to Ma Er about this yesterday and asked him to take charge of the three meals a day for all the members of Teen Titans for the next period of time.

Li Zhen had originally planned to give Ma Er an extra $300 for his extra work, but Ma Er refused.

Li Zhen didn't ask any more questions. After all, the young man was concerned about his image, and his willingness to work was ultimately a good thing.

It has to be said that he admires Mar even more now.

This appreciation has continued from last night until now.

Because he saw the food that Mal had been busy serving up all day.

Um, a huge tray of toasted bread slices and baked beans in tomato sauce that had been poured out of a can and heated in the microwave.

The drinks were mixed fruit juices taken directly from the kitchen refrigerator.

Ma Er even asked Li Zhen with a sense of accomplishment what she thought of his signature dish.

"At home, my younger sister especially loves the dishes I cook."

Li Zhen's lips finally twitched uncontrollably.

He forgot one thing: Mal was a pure American, the kind of typical poor American you only see in movies and TV shows from his previous life.

The food for middle-class white people was already bad enough, but for the lower class, it was even worse.

But this guy doesn't even realize he's dealing with someone.

If it weren't for the foundation laid by her memories from her past life, Li Zhen would never have agreed that heating canned food in the microwave could be considered a signature dish.

Oh, even baking bread is done by a bread machine.

The large tray of food in front of me is neither my specialty nor a good dish.

And the chilled juice straight from the refrigerator paired with this big bowl of steaming hot stuff.

Barely managing to suppress her urge to complain, Li Zhen picked up a slice of bread, spread some baked beans on it with the accompanying knife, and took a bite.

I took a tentative bite.

Good heavens, what kind of garbage is this?

Li Zhen even dared to swear that the last time he felt this bad was during those six months of extreme training on that unknown planet, when he was eating insects.

Considering the astronomical sum Batman promised to transfer each month, Lee Jung almost considered cooking for him every day from then on.

"It tastes very good. Your sister should be very lucky to have such a hardworking brother like you."

Damn it, let's observe for another day. If they keep cooking like this for lunch and dinner, Li Zhen feels she needs to quickly come up with a reason to replace Ma Er in the kitchen.

Watching his instructor, who was like a mentor to him, slowly and carefully savor his food with a slight frown, Ma Er couldn't help but smile sincerely.

He was already deeply grateful to his instructor, and silently thought that if he could be in charge of the Titan Base kitchen for the rest of his life, that would be the happiest thing.

Li Zhen picked up the water glass that had begun to cool, swallowed the lump of food in her mouth with mixed fruit juice, and then stood up and walked towards the elevator, still holding the piece of bread.

"I'll go to the training ground and wait for you guys—remember to give me a list of the guys who didn't eat breakfast."

As soon as the elevator doors closed, Li Zhen lowered her head, glared, and used a low-budget version of her Golden Heat Vision to turn the object in her hand into wisps of smoke.

Li Zhen clapped her hands, and with a beep, she stepped out of the elevator.

Then he saw Tim, who had changed into the Red Robin suit, standing in the center of the training field with his hands behind his back.

Somewhat unexpected.

It's only a little past 5 a.m., and wasn't this kid racing uphill with Mar last night?

"It seems like the daily routine in the bat cave is quite chaotic."

Tim didn't respond verbally, but the slight trembling of his goggles told him his answer.

Li Zhen roughly knew that Tim must also have that old man's bugging device on him, so she didn't join him in complaining about the Batcave.

"You ate breakfast on the fifth floor?"

"No, instructor."

"Training hasn't started yet, so there's no need to be so reserved. You can put off being on high alert for later."

As soon as she finished speaking, Red Robin's straight back collapsed instantly.

"To be honest, instructor, after the match against Mar last night, I found out that he was in charge of making breakfast today."

Red Robin finally started talking more.

Among all the Robins, Red Robin has relatively weaker combat abilities, yet she possesses foresight in many things.

This is not only reflected in tactical and technical research.

"This kid went to Mal's dorm last night and ate some snacks that Mal brought from home."

A poor boy like him certainly couldn't afford those high-end packaged goods from convenience stores, so the so-called snacks were dried vegetable biscuits that Ma Er made at home.

Poor Mar thought he had made a friend, but after Red Robin tasted the vegetable biscuits Mar made, she got up and went to the kitchen the next day.

Not only did he cook himself a hearty and nutritionally balanced normal white meal, but after he finished eating, he cleaned the kitchen and dining room as if no one had ever been there.

Even the frozen steak packaging bag left by Li Zhen last night was disposed of.

Li Zhen felt that she suddenly had a deeper understanding of the Third Robin.

This kid isn't as docile as I saw him in the bat cave.

After a brief chat, the two continued to wait.

Yesterday, when Li Zhen was greeting guests at the entrance, she reminded everyone of the meeting time for the next day. In the evening, she used her authority to pull the communication devices that others had been given into a chat program.

Then, before going to sleep, I reminded him again in the communicator.

However, these boys weren't as troublesome as Li Zhen had imagined. Although they arrived at the training ground at different times, they all arrived on time.

Of course, most people looked pale and sickly.

I suppose they were quite taken aback by Mal's breakfast.

Rachel even sent Li Zhen a message, telling him that she had gone back to Li Zhen's dormitory and got a dried fish to eat.

Even Cassandra's face showed bitterness. Don't be fooled by her being a troubled girl who seemed pitifully adopted by the Bat family. Her biological parents were a world-class top assassin and the other was from the same country as Li Zhen in her previous life.

A country that has high standards for food.

The only exception was Mia, who came up with Mar, and when she did, she was carrying a piece of bread covered in baked beans.

However, Mia completely ignored Chef Mar's earnest request for evaluation. After seeing that Li Zhen was already waiting at the training ground, she silently folded the bread and stuffed it into her mouth and swallowed it.

Finally, Shazam arrived just in time.

Not only did he not realize the importance of scouting the location, but he also stood on the same level as Li Zhen as soon as he arrived and gave a passionate speech to the group of young Titans.

"Guys! Although this is our first time meeting, I believe we'll get along well in the future—"

"Get out of here."

Shazam turned around in astonishment, looking at Lee Jung with an incredulous expression.

"What did you say?"

Li Zhen glanced at the time on her phone, her face completely devoid of the calm she had shown while chatting with Red Robin earlier.

He coldly stared at the bewildered Shazam, a savage glint gradually rising in his eyes.

"Go down and stand with them. Don't make me repeat myself a third time."
