Chapter 232 Remaining Issues

A fierce black aura emanated from behind Rachel. She had never been so angry before, so much so that the blood-red gem on her forehead, which represented the seal, was trembling slightly.

Just now, some kind of magic imbued with divinity transcended the barriers of time and space, attempting to steal Li Zhen's body right before her eyes.

This naturally provoked Rachel's strong resistance. She hadn't even avenged Li Zhen yet, so how could she allow his body to be taken away by some unknown force?

Dark magic and divine power briefly clashed on Li Zhen's corpse.

Strangely, the divine power, upon sensing her resistance, did not continue to entangle her, but instead turned towards a nearby open space.

A golden magic gate appeared out of thin air, and a few wisps of white mist followed as a figure that made Rachel's heart tremble.

"Rachel!"

Li Zhen shouted first, then turned around and waved.

"Okay, don't worry, I'll explain it to her."

Rachel stared blankly at Li Zhen, then glanced back at the corpse.

This completely unexpected turn of events clearly left Rachel's little brain a bit overwhelmed.

She was certain that the corpse beside her was real.

But the figure that walked out of the magic gate—at least the aura of its soul couldn't be wrong.

"you----"

Rachel stared blankly as the magic door behind Li Zhen closed, and the guy who had almost broken her heart opened his arms in her direction.

A moment's hesitation was dispelled by the overwhelming joy of reunion, and Rachel immediately ran towards him.

The two embraced tightly.

Rachel first buried her head in Li Zhen's arms for a while until she wiped all the tears from the corners of her eyes, then raised her head with red eyes.

"You're not dead? But I clearly saw you right in front of me."

"Ah, it's a long story. The one who tried to take my body away was Hermes, the chief god of Olympus. Thanks to Zeus's protection, I am now able to live as a demigod."

Li Zhen cupped Rachel's face in her hands and examined her carefully for a moment before pressing the little head into her arms.

Taking a deep sniff of the scent in Rachel's hair, Li Zhen suddenly became somewhat anxious.

"Let's go back to our room first."

"what?"

Rachel tried to lift her head from Li Zhen's embrace, somewhat surprised, but the latter pressed her head firmly against her palm.

"Hurry, I can't wait."

"Well, I like dark places."

Rachel's face suddenly turned bright red, and she obediently released the magic until the dense darkness completely covered the two of them.

The moment darkness completely enveloped everything, Li Zhen cupped Rachel's head and gently kissed her.

In the realm of the Olympians, Hermes's black diamond-like pupils reflected the scene of the two about to passionately kiss.

"Oh."

He let out a soft, unintelligible hum, but without realizing he was turning his gaze away, he continued to stare intently.

The barrier of the Shadow Dimension could not block the gaze of the divine messenger, especially since he was one of the twelve main gods in this pantheon.

But just as their lips were about to completely touch, Li Zhen suddenly seemed to realize something, abruptly raised her head, and began to shout someone's name with a furious expression.

Hermes frowned, because a third person had somehow entered his field of vision.

Instinctively, Hermes focused some of his attention on the uninvited guest.

Diana, who was standing by and not understanding what was going on, watched as Hermes suddenly let out a miserable wail. For the first time, his eyes, which were as dark as an abyss, lost their luster. Even after the messenger closed his eyes, two streams of turbid black pus still flowed from the corners of his eyes.

Diana was horrified, even though she had always disliked Zeus and had a deep grudge against her nominal brother Ares.

However, Diana never had any particular opinion about the other Olympian gods.

Taking a step forward, Diana gently supported Hermes' arm, preventing the chief god from stumbling to the ground.

"What's wrong, Hermes?"

The messenger kept his eyes tightly closed, and after waving his hands haphazardly a couple of times, he quickly pressed down on Diana's arms.

"I...I saw something dirty!"

In the shadow dimension, the two who were once deeply in love had long since parted ways. Apart from the blush still lingering on Rachel's cheeks, there was no trace of the romantic atmosphere they had shared just moments before, judging solely from their expressions.

Li Zhen glared fiercely at Constantine, who had intruded into the Shadow Dimension, her back teeth practically grinding to powder.

"You really do always have a backup plan, don't you know the meaning of death?"

"That's fine."

Constantine, with an unlit cigarette dangling from his mouth and a disdainful snort escaping his nose, ruthlessly interrupted Li Zhen.

"Didn't you invite me in?"

As Constantine's lips trembled, even the cigarette swayed up and down.

"You have five minutes, during which all communication must be kept secret by the three of us."

As soon as she finished speaking, Li Zhen's expression changed again.

Those exaggerated facial muscle movements quickly subsided, and his words no longer carried the intense emotions they had just expressed.

Joy, excitement, and anger all vanished in the blink of an eye.

"Rachel, tell me now, what happened in the time after I died?"

Rachel's face finally returned to calm, as always with a slightly bluish paleness.

She smoothed her short hair, which Li Zhen had just ruffled, and put her hood back on, leaving only half of her chin visible in the shadows.

Rachel then explained the whole story to Li Zhen in as concise a language and calm tone as possible.

Aside from emphasizing certain words when mentioning Batman, the girl was clearly still angry.

Li Zhen stroked her chin and began to ponder.

"Batman openly admitted that he killed me with the help of the AMD virus? And everyone agrees on this?"

Sensing the slightly teasing tone in Li Zhen's voice, Rachel finally couldn't help but be surprised.

"Batman himself admitted it, and I almost killed him for it."

Rachel had one more unspoken message.

That was when Li Zhen was alone with Rachel, she taught her how to handle different situations and scenarios involving the members of the Justice League.

The previous statement, "Super Fight with Super, No Super Whip Flash," was a summary by Li Zhen of a possible tactic in case they needed to stand against the Justice League someday.

Rachel also clearly remembered that Li Zhen had mentioned that in most cases, Batman's battle plans could be listened to directly without needing to use her own brain to think too much and add unnecessary details.

"I do believe Batman is trustworthy most of the time, but that's only most of the time," after all, Batman always wins, but that doesn't mean Batman is 100% infallible.

"If he not only always wins but also never makes any mistakes in decision-making, then those guys in Gotham would have stopped playing the game with him long ago. A game is one where there are wins and losses on different levels."

Li Zhen's expression was slightly subtle. He lowered his hand from his chin and made a slight gesture in the air.

"Look, right in front of us, he just suddenly swelled up into a giant bat monster, so we probably don't need to doubt that he was already infected with the Astora virus at that time."

"Remember when I said that after you were infected with the virus, you did have a period of freedom of movement? But wasn't your seemingly tenacious will and your cautious, treading-on-ice-situation actions precisely the direction the virus wanted you to take?"

"After the virus enters the brain, everything he thinks he knows may not actually be everything he believes he knows."

Li Zhen held up three fingers.

"We have at least three questions that we must answer, or I will not be able to eat or sleep properly."
