Chapter 245 Arrival at Apocalypse

The mountain peaks were removed simply to prevent the Lhasa Road Pool water, contaminated by his own blood and causing mutations, from seeping into the ground through the cracks in the rocks.

Li Zhen had no intention of carrying such a large rock around the world.

Not only was the commotion huge, but it also attracted a lot of attention, so Li Zhen abandoned the giant mountain halfway through the journey on an open sea.

As for the dark red pool inside, Rachel had already taken it away using the Shadow Dimension.

After getting away from the Assassin's Guild's headquarters, the chaotic magical fields disappeared, and Rachel successfully located the energy fluctuations in the Lhasa Road pool, digging them up along with all the tainted rocks on the mountainside.

The remaining massive mountain, specifically the tip closest to where it intersects with the earth's veins, yielded a bright green, crystalline stone from which Li Zhen extracted the rest; the rest were entirely worthless.

Jason and Li Zhen then entered the Shadow Dimension together and returned to Gotham City.

"Now, what should we do next?"

Standing at the edge of the exit opened by the Shadow Dimension, Jason looked back and asked.

"That's my next step."

Li Zhen's face contorted into a ferocious expression.

"I already know who the real culprit is. Those lackeys in Gotham City are not important to me. Perhaps you can wait for my return, and then the truth will naturally come to light."

Jason frowned; clearly, this guy wasn't the type to sit still.

Seeing this, Li Zhen stopped trying to solve the riddle and instead told Jason her guess directly.

"Those guys who released the virus in Gotham City are most likely connected to Apokolips. They are not ordinary people, which is why you haven't been able to find any useful clues before."

Unexpectedly, after Li Zhen's prompting, Jason, who wasn't from this universe, actually realized it and almost blurted out "O".

"There aren't many organizations on Earth that can be linked to Apokolips—the Dark Side Club!"

"Darkside Club?"

Hearing that strange combination of words, it was now Li Zhen's turn to be taken aback.

"What is that thing?"

"That's not how it's pronounced, even though the words are the same."

Jason wanted to correct Li Zhen, but then realized that explaining this clearly was not easy, and pressed his head in exasperation.

"It's not Darkseid, but the dark side. Don't use a name for it; interpret it from the meaning of the words."

As for Li Zhen, he only heard Jason repeat the word "Darksied" twice, and his expression became even more bewildered.

"Okay, you can understand Darkseid Club as well. Anyway, it's a cult that worships Apokolips and the Dark Lord, originally created by a group of scientists and philosophers."

Jason finally gave up on explaining to Lee Jung how a single word could have two meanings.

"Humans have always been like this; when faced with threats from other races, it is easy for some to surrender."

"The Dark Side Club was initially just a group of Earthlings who had given up the will to resist. Darkseid would have disdained to communicate with them at all, but by chance, they received feedback from Apokolips during their day-to-day cult activities."

"Among Darkseid's elite dark forces, a strategist named Viman Vandeba accepted this organization of worshippers born from Earth."

"Unlike other dark elites who glorify conquest through force, Viman Vandeba particularly enjoys using underhanded tactics."

"You should know that the conquest of Apokolips was not always smooth sailing, and Viman Vandeba was specifically responsible for developing different combat plans in advance based on the characteristics of powerful enemies on different planets."

"Before the Apokolips army arrives, the most powerful rebels on that planet often die in the deadly traps designed by Viman Vandeba."

Jason pointed at Lee Jung.

"If we work backward from this line of thought, you are exactly the only victim in the Amodro virus incident who had the potential to become a vanguard of resistance, but was also targeted and killed."

"If you're certain this matter is related to Apokolips, then the only thing I can think of is the Dark Side Club."

Jason paused for a moment to think, then looked at Li Zhen with some difficulty.

"But in reality, it seems that there is no such organization as the Dark Side Club in this universe. Most of them are like me, survivors from universes that should have been extinct. However, they happen to possess the technology and magic bestowed upon them by Apokolips in other universes, so finding them will be extremely difficult."

Li Zhen gave Jason a meaningful smile.

"That's why I said from the beginning that maybe you could wait until I come back before taking the next step."

"As long as they still hold onto the worship of Apokolips or Darkseid, they will continue to hide with the same tenacity."

Jason pondered the meaning of Li Zhen's words for a moment.

Then his eyes finally showed some fear.

"You want to take down Apokolips all by yourself? Even Superman couldn't do that."

Li Zhen raised three fingers again.

"First, they pose a threat to me and have already indirectly harmed me. As long as they exist, those lurking in the gutter could continue to plot against me for their own purposes."

"Secondly, Darkseid should not be on Apokolips now."

Then Li Zhen suddenly fell silent, her lips twitching as if about to move, and her eyes began to wander.

Jason waited for a long time, but finally couldn't help asking directly.

"And the third one?"

"I don't know if this reason is strong enough, but I want to find a hard place to vent my anger because I'm fed up with all those so-called conspiracies and tricks."

Jason pursed his lips, clearly wanting to say something but holding back.

Li Zhen noticed this, but he wasn't in a hurry, so he gave Jason plenty of time.

"Um—how are you going to find it?"

Li Zhen raised an eyebrow.

"Doesn't it have cosmic coordinates?"

"Of course not. Do you think no one has ever wanted to rebel? In my universe, even Superman's Kryptonian technology can't find Apokolips's exact coordinates. I remember Batman saying that Apokolips exists in another dimension, and only when invading any planet will it connect the two worlds through a sonic boom."

Jason raised his hand and pointed to the sky.

"Normally, the Cyborg in my universe has the ability to open the sonic boom channel, but the Cyborg here, when he was infected last week, had his mechanical body dismantled by you, and is now undergoing the installation of a new body in the Star Labs."

Li Zhen lowered her head and remained silent for a while.

Under Jason's puzzled gaze, he slowly closed his eyes.

With the help of the Fallen Ones, he can now repeatedly browse through those memories that transcend dimensions. And the hundreds of deaths and rebirths he experienced at the bottom of the Lhasa Road Pool have given him far more than just some adaptations.

The death effect from the incomplete anti-life equation had been firmly memorized by his body.

Before she even opened her eyes, Li Zhen lightly raised her palm and used the force of her palm to push Jason, who was at the edge of the shadow dimension, away.

As the darkness gradually closed in, Li Zhen's open eyes, for the first time, revealed a strange red light.

"I don't think so, Jason."

Li Zhen's long hair, which fell over her shoulders, moved on its own even without wind.

"No matter which universe or dimension it is in, my body has been imprinted with that energy, and I can feel that somewhere outside of Earth, there is a surge of the same energy fluctuations, and it has already called out to me."

As darkness closed in, Li Zhen, aided by the shadow dimension, instantly traversed the distance between the earth and the sky, appearing directly in the vacuum of space.

Then he closed his eyes again and instantly entered a state of faster-than-light jump.

The intelligent atoms throughout his body propelled him beyond the limitations of time and space, heading straight for the place that pulsed and called to him like a beating heart.

Li Zhen's figure flickered continuously on the scales of galaxies, vacuum, and the universe, before finally disappearing completely from this dimension.

When that pulse was almost within reach, as if a huge, boundless heart was beating in front of him, Li Zhen stopped his leap and opened his eyes.

In the distance, the darkness carried a repressive crimson hue, and a sickly, blood-red star burned relentlessly, releasing its waning heat.

Before Li Zhen lay a peculiar planet filled with macroscopic space architecture in a gritty, iron-blooded style.

The earth was blood-red, the ocean was blood-red, and even the halo of refracted stars had a sweet, fishy smell.

Li Zhen couldn't help but take a deep breath. Although he was still some distance from that planet, the surrounding environment did not seem to be a complete vacuum.

"I haven't smelled this scent in a long time; it's surprisingly similar to Wittrum's."

A hoarse, metallic scraping sound filled with rage traveled from the earth straight to Li Zhen's ears in space.

"Which reckless insect dares to spy on the great—"

"Ha, spying?"

Li Zhen crossed her arms over her chest, interrupting the sound with her actions.

Amidst the other party's terror, Li Zhen maintained her arrogant stance and actually chose to fall towards Apocalypse Star.

"I only gave you an extra glance, you crawler!"

"How dare you!"

At the command of the other party, a dense layer of black dots floated on the dark red planet and then surrounded Li Zhen, who was already approaching the atmosphere.
