Chapter 198 Xiu En wants to eat some dark snacks... cough cough, Xiu En wants to purify some darknes
Marvel.
New York, the tea room of the Sanctuary.
Just as the Ancient One picked up his tea, the luminous figure opposite him suddenly underwent a qualitative change.
In the blink of an eye, the light man's clothes transformed into a meticulously tailored black trench coat, the fabric of which seemed to flow with galaxies.
The trench coat carries a certain ancient and constant power of rules.
Even the Ancient One, the Sorcerer Supreme, felt a pang of pain from the law of cause and effect when she looked at the buttons on the collar.
"Oh my, this is truly amazing craftsmanship."
Gu Yi put down her teacup, her eyes now filled with an admiration that seemed to say, "I want one too."
"Using dreams to weave reality, and then using merit to bind cause and effect. Your tailor must be a master who ranks among the best even in the multiverse."
The projection that had survived the longest and possessed considerable strength looked down at its new clothes.
He let out a villainous laugh and reached his right hand into his bottomless pocket.
What is he taking out?
A dimensional bomb?
Or is it some kind of world-destroying virus?
Xiu pulled out a handful of cookies!
"Phew, thank goodness, I got it in one shot!"
Xiu En couldn't wait to stuff a piece into his mouth, and the crisp sound that transcended the cosmic barrier was particularly jarring in the quiet tea room.
"Want one, mage?"
Although Xiu En was polite in words, he guarded the remaining biscuits and stuffed them into his pocket, showing no intention of sharing.
"This was baked by the best butler in all of Gotham, in the entire universe. It has my favorite steel shavings in it, the texture is superb."
The sunflower on his shoulder silently covered its face with its leaves.
"The main body is currently cleaning up the kitchen like a hamster."
Ivy's voice came through, tinged with helplessness.
"Could your clone here be a little more mindful of its image? The person sitting opposite you is the guardian of this world."
"Tch, even guardians need to eat."
"Besides, Strange also has your Peashooter on his head, doesn't he? We're in the same boat."
Hugh threw the last cookie into his mouth, making a loud chewing noise.
Without any hesitation, he wiped the crumbs from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand. The crumbs vanished without a trace into the dark, dim light as soon as they touched the collar of his trench coat.
Sunlight slanted across the stone bricks of the open-air balcony.
Shuen pulled down the dark gold buttons on his collar and stared directly at the bald female mage sitting opposite him.
"Ah Fu's cooking skills are always impeccable, it's just that it's a bit too sweet."
Xiu En picked up the herbal tea on the table and drank it all in one gulp.
"Grandma, let's get straight to the point. I didn't come here just to show you this new outfit."
Gu Yi put down the white porcelain cup, picked up the folding fan and gently tapped it against her palm, her eyes peaceful.
"That's exactly what I wanted to ask. The Sanctuary always welcomes friends with good intentions, but the dust-proof spells on most of the scrolls in this temple are too weak to stop your peculiar method of absorption."
Xiu En understood what the Ancient One meant.
She probably wanted to stop ruining her scrolls.
So the topic changed.
"I'm not interested in those dry spell theories on your bookshelves anymore."
Xiu En crossed his arms and rested them on his chin, leaning forward to close the distance.
"While I was wandering around outside, I heard that there's a special book in your world. It's imbued with the oldest and most murky magical energy, called the Dark Book, right?"
Gu Yi's wrist froze, and even the usual smile on his face vanished.
She pressed the folding fan against the corner of the stone table, her breathing slowing down.
"This is a word that's not really appropriate to mention."
Gu Yi stared into Xiu En's eyes and said.
"Its original name is the Chapter of the Gods, which contains untamed evil spells. Reading it, or rather, chewing on it, leads directly to the source of that disorder and corruption; it is a dangerous and stubborn poison for the mind."
Sunflower Ivy moved closer to the front from Xiu En's shoulder, its leaves trembling as it looked at Xiu En, releasing tiny, hostile green specks of light.
Sunflower lowered its flower head and leaned close to Xiu En's ear.
"Just from the name, it sounds like some kind of extract from a junkyard. Are you sure you want to bring back some of that filthy stuff to try?"
Xiuen flicked the sunflower's stem with his knuckles, eliciting a chorus of discontented complaints.
"What do you know? Eating too much clean food and pure desserts will always lack that stimulating and challenging taste."
He patted his stomach and looked out at the bustling traffic with its headlights already on.
"From your description, the chaotic energy of the Dark Book seems to possess a profound and stimulating quality. The more corrupt and decadent the underlying concepts, the more intense the contrast in power during transformation. For me, none of that matters. Tell me, who has it?"
Gu Yi's expression was serious.
She flipped her palm, and an orange-red magic matrix appeared and spun in her hand. "American Comics: Praising the Sun Starting in Gotham!" is currently being serialized and is not to be missed!
It contains a complex network of energy.
"The ritual implements will not remain in one place forever."
Xiu En smiled.
"You people who are responsible for maintaining order always have this cautious attitude."
"I only care about whether it tastes right after I eat it. As for whether things can be rewritten, my fire can help her do a second calibration."
Xiu En grabbed another handful of cookies, picked one out, and tapped it on the table with a bang.
"Just give me the direction. The rest is my payment for helping you out."
He looked at Gu Yi's palm.
Xiu En knew that the Ancient One had a general understanding of the timeline.
Her choice awaits.
Gu Yi closed the folding fan and tapped it lightly on the edge of the stone table.
The Supreme Master seemed to have seen something, and the solemnity in his eyes gradually faded.
"It's better to guide than to block; the methods of Yu the Great in controlling the floods are applicable in many universes."
Gu Yi stood up, clasped her hands together, and then slowly pulled them apart.
A magic circle unfolded in front of her chest, forming a coordinate model.
"The malevolent gift left behind by Sithon in this world, which is what you call a 'heavy-tasting snack,' is currently under a silent seal."
Gu pushed the magic model in front of Xiu En.
"It is hidden beneath Westview, New Jersey. A black witch named Agatha Harkness, who has lived for countless ages, is trying to monopolize its power."
Gu Yi picked up her teacup again to moisten her throat.
"That area is shrouded in layers of chaotic disguise. Those who tried to find it were trapped and died in distorted illusions. If you insist on venturing there, I won't stop you. I just hope your voracious appetite can digest the abyssal evil that can even distort reality."
Xiu En let out a sneer.
He reached out and directly absorbed the magical three-dimensional coordinates.
"I appreciate your kindness. After I finish eating that black book, I might pack up the most vile pages left and send them to you for research."
The divine flames of the Golden Crow ignited inside the trench coat.
Light is his path.
He casually waved his hand towards the tea room, and his body instantly transformed into a straight golden ray that pierced through the setting sun, breaking through the spatial barrier above the Supreme Sanctuary and rushing towards New Jersey.
All that remained were blank scraps of paper, blown away by the strong wind, on the balcony.
Gu Yi stood still and unfolded the folding fan again to cover his mouth and nose.
With a serene look in her eyes, she softly chanted an incantation into the air.
"Agatha, I hope your Purple Demon Black Hand won't be devoured clean by this man."
The monk turned and stepped into the shadowy library.
Meanwhile, high in the sky.
Xiu En's clone shuddered as it charged forward at breakneck speed.
His eyes reflected a typical American-style town on a plain.
It looks quite ordinary?
So ordinary it makes you want to yawn.
This means that the other party has wrapped the poison he wants in the thickest, darkest sugar coating.
Xiu En licked his lips and landed in front of the sign that read "Xijing Town".
This feast of chaotic demonic energy takes place just a few dozen meters away, inside the invisible spiritual barrier that protects the house.
The sunlight in New Jersey was distorted slightly by the invisible film in front of me.
Xiu En stood next to the "Welcome to Xijing Town" sign and solemnly adjusted the collar of his trench coat.
He stretched out his fingers, bending his knuckles.
"Thump, thump, thump."
The three strikes created golden ripples in the air.
Xiu En cleared his throat and shouted loudly at the desolate, empty highway and the distorted air in front of him.
"Is anyone home? I'm a food critic who happened to be passing by. This place has a very auspicious feng shui, so I came over specifically to ask for a drink of water and also to check out the local specialties."
Xiu En wore a bright, fake smile, completely suppressing his appetite.
He was like a truly polite, albeit somewhat reckless, tourist, never uttering a single sensitive word about the magic book.
The sunflower covered its flower head with two leaves, trying its best to shrink its roots into the folds of the shadow cast on Xiu's shoulder.
"You call this 'auspicious purple aura coming from the east'?"
Ivy let out a look of disgust.
"This smells like some kind of mental composting plant that's been fermenting for centuries. This barrier is covered in mind-manipulating slime, and you're still knocking? I'm afraid that old witch will open the door and splash us with her foot-washing water."
Xiu En ignored the complaints on his shoulder and instead commented with great interest.
"That's what you call marinating until it's flavorful. You don't understand, this sense of historical depth that comes with age is the hallmark of a truly impressive dish."
