Chapter 343 Why do these heroes always think about sacrifice? Xiu En doesn't like sacrifice.
Projector Afu quickly arrived with a toolbox and, under the remote guidance of Bruce and the others, was preparing to repair the server that Xiu En had accidentally damaged.
Just as everyone was gathered around the server, a green vine from Ivy herself sprouted from a crack in the floor.
It first carefully bypassed the tools scattered on the ground, then wrapped itself around the projected ankle of the Dark Knight Batman.
"Don't move! Oh my god! Its energy structure is unstable!"
Reed Richards immediately noticed the vine and shouted nervously.
"Any contact with external energy could cause this projection to collapse!"
Clearly, Reed felt that Bruce's projection technology, which referenced Shuen's research, was not very stable.
"what?"
Xiu En came closer as if he had discovered something new and interesting.
"Ivy, your vines are glowing, but why does the color look a bit dark?"
Only then did everyone notice that the vine, which had originally emitted a bright green glow, began to slowly turn a dark brown at its tip after coming into contact with the Dark Knight's projection. The vine itself also began to tremble slightly, as if it were enduring pain.
A feeling of disgust and rejection, conveyed through Ivy's connection to this land, was directly transmitted to all the heroes present.
"Dirty! So dirty! It makes the plants want to vomit!"
Even Tony Stark, who is least sensitive to plants, instinctively wrinkled his nose at this thought, as if he could really smell a stench.
"What does it taste like?"
He looked around in confusion.
The lurking Dark Knight also understood.
Damn it! Alarm bells were ringing in his mind.
The laws of this world! The plants of this world are rejecting me!
Almost simultaneously, Bruce in the main world captured the fleeting moment of his own stiffness, as well as the unusual energy reaction on the vines.
"Tony!"
"Analyze the energy composition of that projection immediately! Share the data with me!"
"receive!"
Tony realized something was wrong and immediately fired a scanning beam at the Dark Knight.
The next second, a comparative analysis report appeared on everyone's main screen. Ninety-nine percent of the energy characteristics were exactly the same as the other Bruces.
But there is only one thing
[Trace amounts of dark energy were detected; the component is suspected to be N metal from the Dark Multiverse.]
"I knew something was wrong with you!"
Tony slammed his hand on the control panel.
"You pessimistic bastard!"
The truth came out.
The projection of the Dark Knight was no longer a disguise.
Those eyes stared at Bruce from the main world through the visor, the voice filled with disdain.
"You realized it too late, you weakling. Once I break through your existence-locking armor, I will drag this laughable world of light into utter darkness!"
"He's right. I found out too late."
"Shuen, make your move!"
He paused, then added the last sentence.
"Just because he has my face doesn't mean I should give him any special treatment."
The moment the order was given, the four figures moved simultaneously.
Xiu En didn't even bother to stand up; he simply flicked his finger in that direction. The energy core he had just pulled from the server transformed into a golden beam of light, bypassing all obstacles and striking the dark knight projection directly in the chest.
A large hole was melted through the chest of the Dark Knight's projection, and unstable data streams gushed out like a waterfall.
Before he could even put up any resistance, a golden rope, a violent bolt of lightning, and an extremely fast red afterimage arrived simultaneously.
The Dark Knight's projection, along with all his schemes and backup plans, was blasted into countless fragments by a combined attack.
The fragments slowly dissipated like stardust.
"Alright. Trash cleanup complete. Bruce, could you do a background check before you call in reinforcements next time? Your family relationships seem a bit complicated."
"It was my fault."
Bruce from the world of Shuen rarely admits his mistake.
"I didn't expect him to use the characteristics of the Dark Multiverse to masquerade his coordinates."
"Wow, I'm killing myself."
Tony whistled, trying to ease the tension.
"Bruce, you're a ruthless guy. I'm starting to feel a little sorry for your enemy."
"Now we can focus on our work."
Bruce glanced at the vines that had returned to normal, then looked in Ivy's direction, and nodded slightly to express his gratitude.
With the internal noise cleared, the command center's efficiency rose to a terrifying level once again. A dozen Bruce Wayne brains were working simultaneously, dissecting the Kang strategy piece by piece.
Just then, a Batman projection from the Flashpoint timeline appeared, who was in charge of organizing and archiving historical loot data.
Thomas Wayne let out a soft "hmm." He looked puzzled.
"Bruce".
He called out to Batman from the world of Shuen.
"I have a strange data remnant here. It comes from the Injustice Universe, codenamed Doomsday Bell."
The name made Bruce in the main world stop what he was doing.
Of course he remembered that thing—the enormous device that Injustice Superman considered his ultimate trump card, but which Shuu used as an energy block to drain. It had long been classified as the wreckage of a defunct high-energy weapon and tossed into a corner of the data archive.
"Is there a problem, Thomas?"
"Its energy decay model is very strange."
Thomas Wayne's voice carried uncertainty.
"After it was drained, a portion of its information vanished into thin air. It's like a part of the record about it was deleted from the universe's database."
"Send the data to me and Reed."
Tony immediately sensed something unusual.
The data stream was displayed on the main screen. It showed a detailed comparison of the Doomsday Bell's parameters before and after it was drained of its energy by Xiu En.
Reed Richards' eyes widened, and he pressed himself against the screen, his pupils reflecting the rapidly scrolling curves and models.
"My God!"
"I get it! I get it, hahaha! This isn't an energy weapon!"
"What do you mean, Mr. Rubber Band?"
Tony frowned as well. It clearly released enough energy to blast the Earth into cosmic dust, and Shuen even burped after eating so much. Now you're telling me that wasn't energy?
"No! The energy is just a byproduct! It's a system error caused by the deletion action!"
Reed waved his arms excitedly, his fingers outstretched.
"Look! Its core principle is sacrifice! It uses the user themselves, or a powerful energy source, as a sacrifice to leverage the causal laws of the entire timeline!"
"Based on Kang's information, we can modify its structure so that it can directly find all the paragraphs about the target in the script of the multiverse, then press the delete key and sacrifice all the targets!"
Everyone was stunned speechless by this conclusion: a weapon capable of erasing all notions.
Steve Rogers began to speak.
"So, this thing can erase the concept of the Kangzhi Council from all timelines?"
"Theoretically, yes."
Reed answered.
"It is the ultimate weapon against existence itself. However, it requires a powerful singularity to activate, someone willing to sacrifice themselves to bear the consequences of the deletion of the vast concept of the Council of Kang."
"Wait a moment."
Xiu En's voice came from the corner. He was lying in a hammock woven from vines by Ivy, swaying back and forth while eating snacks.
"Is that 'bell' you're talking about something like a grandfather clock, that makes a really awful sound when you strike it, and that has a really hollow feel to it?"
All eyes were on him.
"It tastes bland?"
Tony's lips twitched.
"yes."
Xiu En sat up and thought for a moment.
"When I consumed that energy, it felt like I had taken a big gulp of air; my mouth felt empty and I felt very unsatisfied. It also contained a lot of life energy, so I returned it all to the Earth."
"none……"
Reed's eyes grew brighter and brighter.
"Shuen is not satisfied, because what he swallowed was non-existence itself! It was the void left behind after that device deleted its own energy concept! Shuen! Your sense of taste has just practically verified my theory!"
In his warehouse lies a final trump card, enough to bring down Kang's dynasty.
"This thing must be brought under control."
Clark's voice was extremely serious; he couldn't imagine the terrible consequences if such a weapon were misused.
"No, quite the opposite, it must be fixed immediately!"
Sylvie retorted excitedly from TVA's communication channel, saying that she had just listened to the entire discussion as well.
"This is our only chance to completely kill all of Kang!"
"But what's the price? Who will be the singularity?" Diana asked coldly.
"I'll go."
Steve Rogers stepped forward without hesitation.
"No, I should do it."
Another aged voice sounded; it was Thomas Wayne's projection.
"I have nothing left to lose."
"That's enough!"
Bruce from the Lord of the World interrupted the argument.
"This device is both our trump card and Pandora's box. No one is allowed to touch it until we find a completely safe and controllable way to use it."
He looked at the other members of the technical team: "Our primary task remains the same: continue developing the existence-locked armor. Only when we ensure that we ourselves cannot be easily removed can we have the right to discuss who to remove."
Just as Steve Rogers and Thomas Wayne were arguing over the honor of the sacrifice, the atmosphere at the scene became increasingly tragic.
"Hey, are you guys out of your minds?"
Xiu En leaped down from his vine hammock and surveyed the group of heroes before him, their expressions righteous.
"It's just a war, why are you making such a fuss? So what if the other side has better weapons? Instead of thinking about how to build even better weapons to fight back, why are you lining up to die?"
His gaze fell on Steve and Thomas.
"Both of you, especially you."
He pointed at Steve.
"A person in their nineties, instead of thinking about how to enjoy their retirement, insists on competing with young people to become a 'life-threatening' substance. Is that polite?"
"This is a responsibility, not a sacrifice!"
Steve corrected him seriously.
"What responsibility!"
"Saving people means sacrificing another group? What kind of robber logic is that! Why don't we just point that doomsday clock at Gotham in your world, sacrifice Gotham, and we can eradicate 80% of the world's supervillains? How about it?"
"you!"
One of the Bruces was so angry at his logic that he almost deactivated the projection on the spot.
"Shut up if you're not going to do it!"
Xiu En interrupted everyone.
"For me, war is about ensuring everyone can live and go home for dinner, not about being named one of the top ten most touching figures in the universe. Your lives are your own, but they also belong to the Cross-Dimensional Guardian Alliance. Anyone who dares to sacrifice them will be beaten to a pulp, then Ivy will plant them in a flowerpot, watering and fertilizing them every day, so they can't die even if they want to!"
His absurd and unreasonable argument silenced all the heroes present. His reasoning seemed flawed, yet his presence was undeniably compelling.
"Doesn't Kang's strategy plan have thousands of possible solutions? Get your dozen or so brains together and find another way!"
"If the sky falls, the tall ones will hold it up; eating is the most important thing."
Although Xiu En's antics were unreasonable, they unexpectedly brought an end to the pointless argument and drew everyone's attention back to tackling the technical challenges.
With a dozen Bruces, a Tony Stark, a Reed Richards, and a Superman-brand quantum computer running at full power, the first prototype of the existence-locked armor was successfully manufactured in just two hours.
It was a light, thin suit of armor that shimmered with a dark silver sheen. Its design style perfectly blended Wayne Technologies' sharpness, Stark Industries' flamboyance, and Reed Richards' futuristic aesthetic.
The joints of the armor plates are adorned with golden patterns that blend the luster of N metal, vibranium, and uranium.
"[Existence Locked Armor - Prototype - Superman Version]".
Tony proudly announced, his projection flying around the armor as if introducing his most prized creation.
"We named it the Eternal Series."
"Alright, Tony, now is not the time for a product launch."
Bruce interrupted him.
"Clark, are you ready?"
Clark Kent nodded and stepped forward.
As he approached, the armor automatically disintegrated into hundreds of tiny parts, which quickly covered his entire body like living fluid metal, eventually fitting together perfectly. Even the red cloak behind him had a perfectly placed opening.
"How are you feeling?"
"That's very strange."
Clark stretched his body; the armor felt as light as a layer of skin.
"I can feel that every cell in my body, my very existence, is nailed to this time and space. I am still me, but I am fixed."
"Great, this is the effect we wanted."
Reed said excitedly.
"We've put a raincoat on you that will never get wet from the river of history. Now let's see how heavy the rain is."
The group arrived at an open area outside the command center. Ivy raised several energy barriers formed by the laws of the Ximu Realm around them, in case of any unexpected events during the test.
At the other end of the open space, Steel Bone Victor had remotely transferred a perfectly intact Time Deletion Rifle from the TVA's armory and mounted it on an automatic turret.
"Clark, all readings are normal. Stop the test immediately if you feel any discomfort."
Bruce gave his final instructions over the communication channel.
"Don't worry, I've been hit by this before, it can't hurt me. I'm ready."
Clark adopted a defensive stance.
"Test begins. First test, 10% energy output."
An ominous blue light emanated from the muzzle of the automatic turret, followed by a beam of obliteration aimed at Clark.
Everyone held their breath.
The beam of light struck the S-shaped insignia on Clark's chest.
The blue beam of light bounced off the surface of the armor the moment it touched it!
Clark was unharmed.
"It's a success!"
"The data is perfect!"
Reed was so excited he was practically turning into a puddle of mud.
"The causal anchor point withstood the attack! Its coordinates remained unchanged without any shift!"
"I always said my energy deflection circuit design was a masterpiece!"
Tony put his hands on his hips smugly.
Only Bruce and Shuen remained silent.
Bruce stared at the armor on the screen, which was flickering slightly from the impact of the paradox, his brow furrowed, as if he was pondering the limits and costs of this defensive method.
Xiu En seemed to be deep in thought.
"Increase the power!"
Sylvie's voice came through the communicator, carrying a hint of vengeful satisfaction.
"Make it 100%!"
"Test continues. Fifty percent."
Bruce issued the order.
Another, even thicker beam of light shot out, only to be perfectly deflected once more.
"hundred percent!"
"boom!"
The most powerful strike was easily deflected by the armor, tearing a brief spatial rift in the sky. Clark stood unharmed.
The test was a great success.
Smiles appeared on the heroes' faces. They seemed to have already seen the dawn of victory.
A huge cheer erupted in the laboratory.
Barry Allen excitedly hugged Hal the Green Lantern next to him, while Johnny Storm set himself on fire in mid-air, spelling out the word "VICTORY" in flames.
They have finally found a way to counter the unsolvable weapon!
"I told you I could do it!"
Tony Stark stood with his hands on his hips, looking around at everyone with a smug expression.
"As it turns out, there's no problem that genius and money can't solve! If there is, then just add another genius and even more money!"
However, Bruce interrupted the brief celebration.
"It's not time to celebrate yet."
"We have only made one. But the enemy is endless."
He didn't give everyone much time to reflect, immediately beginning the next deployment: "Clark, come back immediately. We need to conduct a thorough review of your physical data and the feedback from your armor. Reed, optimize the general model based on Clark's data. Tony, oversee the miniaturization of the energy core and the design of the mass production line. Bruce, cross-validate all data to ensure absolute accuracy. Our goal is to equip all core combat personnel with the first-generation presence-locking armor within twelve hours!"
"Received." "Understood." "Get to work."
A dozen calm voices responded simultaneously, and the massive technical team sprang into action once again.
"Wait! Wait!"
Tony suddenly protested loudly.
"Before we begin mass production, there's one crucial problem we haven't solved! The design!"
With a wave of his hand, a set of extremely cool battle suit designs appeared in the air. It was based on the Superman version, but incorporated a large number of pulse light strips that emitted different colored lights, and even had a pair of shimmering metal wings that could be deployed on the back.
"I propose adding a personalization service to the Eternal series! For example, for Clark's outfit, the 'S' symbol must be glowing when he appears, and it would be best to have Hans Zimmer's signature background music! And for The Flash, when he runs, there should be golden lightning particle effects trailing behind him! As for Green Lantern..."
Before he could finish speaking, he was drowned out by a dozen or so uniform "NO"s from different universes.
"turn down."
"Excessive light will reveal the target, which is tactically suicidal."
"turn down."
"Redundant decorations can increase energy consumption by 7 percent and introduce 12 potential structural weaknesses."
"turn down."
"It's too ugly."
"Hey! You bunch of old fogies living in black and white movies, do you even know what aesthetics are? This is the romance of technology!"
Tony argued his case forcefully.
Bruce from the world of Shuen simply watched him silently, and then, using his administrator privileges, stamped a rejection mark on Tony's design.
"Don't waste time on meaningless things, Tony."
"If you really have too much energy, go optimize the cooling system. I just detected a fluctuation of 0.01 Planck units in the core temperature."
"0:01..."
Tony felt like he was about to have a heart attack. Working with this group of paranoid programmers in black robes was pure torture.
Ultimately, under pressure from Bruce and his crew, Tony was forced to abandon all his cool special effects plans and reluctantly threw himself into mass production.
The command center has become the most efficient super factory in the multiverse.
Ivy gave rise to countless tough and highly magical vines, which replaced traditional production lines and robotic arms, transporting and assembling various rare materials.
Shuen contributed N metal, urukin, and vibranium powder he had scavenged from various universes, as well as collected from the fingernail of a certain king. Like an overseer, he would occasionally pick up a piece of material, put it in his mouth to check its color and taste, and then spit it out with a look of disgust.
