Chapter 53 Because He's Batman
Zatana rubbed her temples and glared fiercely at the sunflower on Xiu En's shoulder that was trying to retract its leaves and play dead.
"But I need to reanalyze the coordinates and find my way home in this chaotic quantum storm, which will take at least a month. And that's assuming no one bothers me."
Xiu En was about to express his amazement at the day trip to another world, but before he could even open his mouth, the system panel in front of him began to flash violently.
[Alert lifted. Otherworldly presence detected. Reported to the highest authorities.]
【Hmm? What's this? Oh well, since I'm here, I might as well make the best of it.】
[Mission: Touring the Void]
[Note: Although this place is different from others, it still has its sun, moon, and stars. Since the flower fairy has stumbled upon it, it may as well take a look around.]
[Objective: Explore this realm (Progress: 0/7 days)]
[Reward: Coordinates unlocked.]
"Pfft, a flower fairy?"
Xiu En looked at Ivy on his shoulder, barely suppressing a laugh.
However, unlocking the coordinates only requires seven days of exploration?
It happened much faster than Zatana had predicted in a month.
"A month is too long. Gotham can't wait that long."
Bruce was clearly unhappy with the timeline.
He stood up, walked to the edge of the garden, and observed the unfamiliar Red Moon Gotham through the magical barrier.
"Don't worry, tycoon. It might not take that long."
Xiu En patted his trench coat, pointed to his head, and looked like a charlatan.
"My gut feeling tells me that if we wander around outside for a few days, I'll find my way home. You know, I've always been lucky."
"Your luck is usually accompanied by explosions and chaos."
Bruce glanced back at him, but when he saw Hugh's confident and carefree expression, his furrowed brows relaxed slightly.
"In that case, let's gather intelligence first. Zatana, you stay at the Shadow House to analyze the coordinates. Shum and I will go see what's going on with this Red Gotham."
Bruce walked straight to a door on the side of the hall, his practiced movements reminiscent of the dressing room at Wayne Manor.
As he gently pressed his palm, a familiar blue glow appeared on the door panel that should have led to the guest room—it was a retinal scanning lock.
"Beep—Identity confirmed. Welcome back, sir."
The door opened, revealing a small tactical preparation room.
A set of bat armor with a cold, metallic sheen stood quietly in the display case. But this set of armor was different from the usual jet-black one. Its chest and joints were faintly surrounded by purple runes, indicating that it had undergone some kind of enchantment.
Wow.
Shuen exclaimed in surprise, his gaze shifting back and forth between the armor and the smug-looking Zatana beside him.
"If I remember correctly, those are magical protective runes? Zatana, you still say you're just friends? You've even prepared matching outfits?"
"Shut up, Xiu En."
Although Zatana was scolding her, she couldn't help but smile.
She crossed her arms, her chin slightly raised, like a proud swan.
"This is just in case. After all, someone always likes to rush into magical traps without any preparation. I just don't want to have to face a billionaire in a tattered suit every time I go to hell or another dimension to rescue someone."
Bruce ignored their teasing and quickly dressed, his black cloak fluttering in the magical air currents.
The gentle, wealthy man has vanished, replaced by Gotham's Dark Knight.
He turned around and pressed another hidden button on the wall.
Rumbling--
The floor of the Shadow House, which was originally covered with thick carpet, suddenly slid open to both sides, revealing a bottomless lifting platform.
Immediately afterwards, a deep and wild engine roar came from underground, making the sunflower on Xiu En's shoulder tremble three times.
A heavy armored vehicle with an extremely exaggerated design slowly rose up.
It not only has the Batmobile's turbo engine, but also has intricate magic circles engraved on its body, and even its tires are some kind of translucent energy.
This time, it was Zatana's turn to freeze up.
Her beautiful green eyes widened, and she even took two steps forward, disregarding her image, pointing at the steel behemoth that almost filled half the hall, her voice trembling:
"Wait... Bruce! What's that?! When did you bury a Batmobile under my house?! And a magically modified one at that?!"
As the owner of the Shadow House, and one of the most powerful magicians of the time, how could she be completely unaware that such a behemoth was hidden beneath her territory? This was an utter insult to her magical perception!
"This isn't science! It's not magic! I know every inch of the Shadow House like the back of my hand!"
Batman, already seated in the cockpit, lowered the specially made bulletproof glass, his white eyes behind the goggles calmly watching the nearly frantic female magician.
His voice was deep and matter-of-fact.
"Because I am Batman."
Then, he added something that almost made Zatana recite an attack spell on the spot:
"Also, while your cellar defense array is ingenious, its physical soundproofing during excavation needs improvement."
"Hahaha!"
Xiu En couldn't hold back any longer and laughed so hard he slapped his thigh, while the sunflower on his shoulder also made a rustling sound, like a giggling flower.
"Hey, that's professionalism. Just admit defeat, this guy might have severe paranoia."
As he spoke, he jumped into the passenger seat, fastened his seatbelt, and even leisurely touched the dashboard that combined a sense of technology and magic.
"Thanks, Zatana! We'll bring you some local specialties when we come back! Like some red soil from that other world!"
"Get out! All of you, get out!"
Amidst Zatanna's furious roar and a barrage of flying magical playing cards, a jet of eerie blue flame suddenly erupted from the Batmobile's exhaust nozzles.
This chariot, carrying Gotham's most advanced technology and mysterious magic, charged into the otherworldly Gotham, where the red moon hung high and the unknown and madness reigned.
The magical bat-shaped vehicle easily crushed the roadblocks and sent the modified motorcycles that tried to stop it flying.
The streets, which had been bustling with the sounds of gunfire and explosions, fell silent at this moment.
Those thugs with skull makeup on their faces and constantly waving laser cutters or heavy machine guns seemed to have been put on pause.
They all stared wide-eyed at the black armored vehicle. The weapons in the hands of the rioters slipped involuntarily, and no one even cared that they were smashed on the road.
The fear wasn't directed at the vehicle's firepower, but at the sign.
The black bat emblem, still radiating terrifying pressure under the red moon.
