Guyver Armor: KAP-2
Chapter 11 Secrets: The Origins of Ancient Humans
Max Pharmaceutical Company, Genzo Makijima's office.
"Damn it! Not a single one of the only three 'units' in the world has been retrieved!"
Genzo Makishima, the head of the Japanese branch, was furious with his subordinates who had been sent out to search all night but had found nothing.
"That strange creature's appearance was clearly that of a modified biological weapon. No one in the world besides us could possess such biotechnology. Therefore, the strange creature that wiped out the entire retrieval team must be 'Unit-Kep'!"
"Notify the lab to send over more and stronger beastmen. We must find that monster and the remaining units. Also, bring back those two high school students from the scene; they must have some connection to that monster..."
"What are you all standing there for? Get moving, you bunch of useless trash!" Genzo Makijima finished scolding his men in one breath, picked up the teacup on the table, took a sip of water, and turned around.
"Heh, you can't entirely blame them, Makijima Branch Manager."
Behind Genzo Makijima, Oswald A. Liszk, the inspector sent by headquarters, watched the farce unfold with a contemptuous smile.
"After all, they have no idea what they're even trying to reclaim. And you, as the person in charge, aren't you just as clueless about the true nature of the 'unit'?"
At this point, he deliberately lowered his voice, his tone carrying a hint of malicious mockery: "You know what, Branch Manager? The so-called 'Cap' in the language of the 'Descendants' means 'defective product'..."
Rewind to millions of years ago, to the Earth's experimental field of the invaders.
On the desolate red earth, the enormous egg-shaped starship stood like a sleeping behemoth. Its rough biomass shell undulated slightly under the scorching sun, emitting a soft "humming" sound, as if it were breathing gently.
Inside the starship, a ghostly blue bioluminescence enveloped the incubation area, where an alien intelligent life form known as the "Descendant" gently stroked a transparent incubation chamber with its slippery tentacles.
Inside rows of neatly arranged cultivation chambers, humanoid creatures of various shapes floated in turbid nutrient solution, their muscles bulging and their bodies vaguely covered with armor or hair—these were the beast-like soldiers in the process of being prepared.
The civilization of the Descendants is centered on biotechnology. Their home empire's interstellar war has reached a stalemate, and in their search for high-quality manpower to change the course of the war, they have wandered the vast, dark universe for countless years, until hundreds of millions of years ago, when they discovered this beautiful, blue planet—Earth.
To their surprise, they discovered that the genes of the native organisms on this planet possessed unimaginable plasticity and resilience, like uncut jade waiting to be sculpted.
So they stopped here, using native Earth organisms as a base, embedding their own gene fragments, and using their proud biotechnology to carry out a long process of guidance and adjustment. After hundreds of millions of years, they finally created the most perfect biological weapon carrier - ancient humans!
As the masterpiece of the invaders, ancient humans were implanted with genes that would forever obey them. Their genetic material could be freely manipulated through the cultivation chamber, evolving into thick armor adapted to extreme cold, as well as claws capable of tearing through steel, making them the ultimate biological weapon capable of fighting in all environments.
The bio-engineering technology upon which the Kronos organization relies for survival originates from the well-preserved "Ark of Uranus" found in the fossil remains of the Adventists.
More importantly, the modified beastmen will be bound to "thought waves"—a unique thought signal of the Descendants and their most powerful command system.
They can use "thought waves" to issue any command of the highest priority to the beastmen from a distance. Even if ordered to commit suicide, the beastmen will carry it out without hesitation, with absolutely no possibility of betrayal.
To facilitate command and control of the battle, they used the super energy "Beast God Crystal" to create the first Beast God Commander with godlike power and "thought waves" far exceeding the norm: Beast God General "Akafiel"!
From any perspective, this is a weapon that is infinitely close to perfect...
Until that day, one of the Descendants had a sudden inspiration: He wanted to try whether their standard equipment "units" could enable the already powerful Beast Soldiers to unleash even greater combat power.
The moment the chosen Zoanoid soldier comes into contact with the "unit," the metal shell opens, and the bio-engineered organisms inside surge out, seeping into the body through the pores and then emerging from the surface, hardening and solidifying into streamlined armor. Thus, the world's first bio-engineered armor—Kap 0—was born!
After watching him easily deal with the Tyrannosaurus Rex that had been modified with biological weapons, the Descendant gave the order with satisfaction.
"Command: Deactivate armor and stand by."
The waves of longing, like invisible chains, reached the core of the beast-like soldier's consciousness after he was equipped.
However, the expected obedience did not appear—the newly armored beastman, no, it should be Kep, suddenly raised his head, and the empty obedience was no longer in his eyes, which emitted a ghostly blue light.
"Why...why don't you obey orders!"
Sensing the actions of the invaders, Kep turned to look at the observation platform, a glint of... anger and rebellion belonging to his "self" flashing in his eyes.
"Terminate the experiment and destroy the target!" The Descendant who deployed Unit G issued a rapid thought wave, and a large number of Beast Soldiers rushed to intercept them. However, Kep's strength exceeded everyone's expectations. No matter what form the Beast Soldiers took, none of them were a match for him.
The continuous battles only fueled Kep's rebellious spirit—he suddenly gripped the gap in the middle of the breastplate with both hands, and with a low growl, the breastplate was forcefully pried open to both sides with a creak.
The crystalline emitter inside the chest armor suddenly expanded and lit up. In the blinding light, two huge, scorching mega-particle beams shot out, instantly piercing through the alien spaceship opposite.
It is the most powerful and deadly weapon in Kapp's armored state - the chest-mounted Mega Particle Cannon!
At this moment, a tall figure flew through the air at lightning speed; it was the Beast God General Akafil!
His figure was exceptionally tall, and his magnificent golden body shimmered with a faint light. Compared to the beastmen, it was like the difference between a mythical creature and an ordinary wild beast—they were species from completely different worlds.
Akafel raised his right hand, and the long, narrow unit-specific recycling device "Limba" in his hand slowly opened into three parts, shooting out a wave of energy.
The moment it was hit, the connection between the bio-armor and the host was severed. The armor detached from the body uncontrollably, and the bio-armored creature slid off the body like flowing water, twisting and entwining around the control metal, and then reverting to the form of a unit.
The armored warrior, now unprotected, was exposed to Akafir's gaze with a blank expression. He casually waved his hand, and an invisible force instantly ignited the warrior.
The first-generation Captain perished amidst the raging flames.
But the Descendants fell silent as Akafil knelt to report.
They finally discovered that the genetic plasticity of ancient humans was too strong, so strong that it was beyond their control.
The combination of units and beastmen can unleash power a hundred times greater than when the Adventors are wearing them, and the "free will" generated after the implantation is a flaw that the Adventors cannot tolerate.
"Determined to be a defective product!"
"Units" are standard equipment for the Adventists and can be found everywhere in the areas where they live.
The previous rebel test subjects were just randomly selected ordinary ancient humans, but the possibility that a Beast God might activate the unit instilled in them a great fear of their own creation.
Ultimately, the invaders decided to leave Earth.
Starships rose from the ground, abandoning all the beastmen and ancient humans on Earth.
