Guyver Armor: KAP-2

Chapter 12 Rescue, Battle at the Suburban Warehouse

"Master, why did you abandon us?"

Akafil soared rapidly into the sky, his golden beast god armor shimmering with a cold light in the setting sun. At the center of his forehead, the beast god crystal emitted a rapid hum and glow—the energy core bestowed upon him by the Descendants, and also the shackles binding his will.

As the supreme commander of the beastmen, and also possessing "thought waves," he was the most perfect creation of the Descendants, and should have enjoyed autonomy and authority far exceeding that of other creations. However, at this moment, his questioning received no verbal response.

A piercing shriek that tore through the air rang out, and crimson-gold beams of light rained down from the cannons of the biological starship. Simultaneously, the thoughts of the descendant pressed down, and the gene of absolute obedience rooted in Akafil's body gripped his limbs and bones like an invisible giant hand.

"ah--!"

Unable to move, Akafil could only watch helplessly as massive beams of particles struck him like lightning. His magnificent golden carapace was instantly scorched red, and he plummeted to the ground like a kite with a broken string, crashing heavily onto the barren rock formations and raising clouds of dust.

His charred body twitched slightly. In his remaining vision, the outline of the last starship was slowly rising into the sky, its tail flames drawing a cold trail across the heavens before gradually disappearing above the clouds.

Just then, it got dark.

It was a slow, heavy darkness that could devour everything.

Akafiel struggled to lift his head, his pupils suddenly contracting as a new "moon" appeared in the sky, expanding and approaching at a visible speed, slowly enveloping the Earth.

No, that's not the moon. It's a planetary-sized asteroid, over 3,000 kilometers in diameter, that was brought here by the "Central" Council of the Descendants, who were wary of human power.

Now, in order to destroy all the "defective products", it was thrown directly to Earth by the Descendants!

"If that's the case... then why... why were we created?!"

An incomprehensible anger and resentment erupted in Akafil's chest like a volcano.

For the first time since its inception, the first and last Beast God created by the Descendant defied the Creator's will to destroy.

Akafil suddenly propped himself up, and beneath his shattered carapace, the Beast God Crystal erupted with an unprecedentedly dazzling light. Dragging his still-healing, heavily injured body, he once again soared into the sky, energy expanding around him, drawing a resolute trajectory across the heavens.

"I will never—die here!"

Amidst the roar, intense light instantly engulfed the heavens and earth, illuminating the entire planet with a brilliance even more dazzling than a star exploding.

Amidst a deafening explosion, the massive asteroid, thousands of kilometers in diameter, shattered, with countless fragments streaking across the sky like a meteor shower, plummeting towards the earth with intense heat.

And so, the surviving ancient humans and the beast-like soldiers who had lost their masters lived on the ravaged land, multiplying generation after generation to this day...

Let's turn back time to the present.

Sakurami High School, outside the school gate.

After school, the Segawa siblings were on their way home when they were stopped by two men in black wearing wide-brimmed hats. "You passed by the explosion site last night, didn't you? Please come with us to assist with the investigation." The man in black took out his badge from his pocket and flashed it in front of Tetsuro.

"This is bad. Kronos's operation has been brought forward." Kanno Tsubasa watched this scene from the second-floor window. "Fukamachi Akira is still pretending to be sick at home. We can't count on him. It seems we can only follow him and play it by ear."

High school students these days are too naive. They believed the Segawa siblings, who were police officers, and were taken to a remote warehouse in the suburbs without any resistance.

Kamino Tsubasa, who had been following closely, crept closer. Faint conversations could be heard coming from inside the warehouse. Segawa Tetsuro's voice, laced with suppressed anger, said, "What exactly do you want to know? I've said it countless times, we were just passing by the explosion site, we didn't see anything!"

Immediately following was a dull thud as something heavy fell to the ground, clearly indicating that someone had been hit.

"Brother! Aren't you police officers? Why are you hitting people?" Ruiji's voice rang out, choked with sobs.

Faced with the brother and sister who were completely unresponsive, the disguised Kronos soldier had clearly lost patience. Behind him, several soldiers in standard combat uniforms, who had been hiding behind the shelves, also came over.

He looked at the lamb to the slaughter with a mocking smile, slowly stretching his shoulders: "Police officer, hehe, I never said that."

"Rip—" With the sound of clothes tearing, the black-clad man who was approaching with malice swelled up violently on his shoulders, forming a strange bulge-like structure. His mouth protruded and stretched into the shape of a bird's beak, and his ears also lengthened and became pointed.

Vimoa, a long-range bio-soldiers developed independently by the Japanese branch, has bulges on its shoulders that are biological thermal cannons. The biological laser beams it fires can penetrate a 30-centimeter layer of concrete in one second at high power.

"We can't reveal our identities yet, so let's try this trick, Kapp, transform!"

As Kamino Tsubasa's thoughts drifted, the space behind him suddenly rippled, and dark yellow bio-armor surged onto his body like a tide. The instant the control metal connected with his brain's nerves, a slight stinging pain accompanied by an extreme sense of power swept through his entire body.

The Capu 2's armored form unfolded perfectly, its streamlined armor surface gleaming with a matte yellow light, and the bright yellow light emanating from its eye sensors drawing two cold streaks of light in the dim environment.

Once transformed, Tsubasa Kamino didn't waste any words. With a thought, the laser beam emitter on his head shot out three thin yellow beams, accurately targeting the helmet communication modules of three Kronos soldiers inside the warehouse.

"Ugh..." Sparks flew from the helmets as they were struck by the laser beams. The Kronos soldiers, caught off guard, covered their faces and activated their beast transformations.

Kureg, Ramoch, Vimoya, and the five beastmen present formed an elite combat squad with a well-balanced combination of ranged and melee combat.

"That's...Kep?! No, this color and shape...isn't it the one from yesterday?!" Craig clenched his fists tightly after transforming.

As the captain of the Kronos Operations Team, he had seen the combat data of the KAP-1 last night in the video, but he never thought that he would encounter another armored unit under such circumstances.

Vimoa quietly retreated, slowly unfolding the bio-cannon organ on its shoulder. But before it could complete its firing preparation, "Sizzle—Sizzle—Sizzle," three more yellow lights flashed. Vimoa, with wisps of smoke rising from its head, paused, its tall, thin body swayed, and then it collapsed to the ground with a thud.

Under Tsubasa Kamino's precise control, three laser beams focused on a single point on its forehead instantly pierced its skull, and its brain inside was roasted into a crisp by the enormous energy carried by the beams.

After dealing with Vimoa, who was closest to the hostages, Kemp 2 transformed into a yellow shadow. His superhuman strength allowed him to instantly traverse spatial distances and land in front of the Segawa siblings, separating them from the beastmen.
