Guyver Armor: KAP-2

Chapter 29 Exposure, The Imminent Reunion

For a week straight, Tsubasa Kamino's surgical precision kept Kronos on the run.

As a transmigrator, Kamino Tsubasa is intimately familiar with the abilities and weaknesses of each type of beast soldier.

This unique combination of knowledge and intelligence allowed the Cap-2, which had temporarily been freed from the threat of losing control, to reach its full potential, leaving the lone Zoan soldier squad utterly helpless.

In his apartment room, he looked at the specially made map spread out and marked each target he had conquered with a red "X" with a pen.

As more and more red crosses appeared on the map, Kronos Japan descended into complete chaos.

From high-ranking officers to the most brutal soldiers, everyone looked as if they were wearing a "mask of pain."

The atmosphere in the top-floor conference room of Max Pharmaceuticals was so oppressive it was almost palpable.

"Another Kemp? The third one! And a yellow-clad bastard at that!"

Richard Geo's eyes blazed with fury as he slammed his fist on the heavy solid wood conference table with a loud bang.

He looked around, and the cadres around him were so frightened that they fell silent and lowered their heads.

"A bunch of useless trash!"

He gritted his teeth, his tone filled with violence: "All you do is hide in the shadows and pull these petty tricks, you're no different from a rat in the gutter! But..."

As his anger subsided, a thought suddenly flashed through his mind: "How could he possibly have such accurate knowledge of so many of our hidden locations? Even our driving routes! Could it be... that there's a traitor within the organization?"

Considering this possibility, Geo decisively ordered: "Pass down the order! Immediately withdraw all scattered forces from the periphery back into the company. At that time, the headquarters building will be under full martial law!"

He paused, then added, "Also, immediately contact the Ruins Base and inquire about the progress of the new batch of beastmen's deployment. Tell them to spare no expense in sending additional personnel as soon as possible!"

"Lord Geo! Our men have received intelligence!"

Just then, a subordinate rushed in: "Someone spotted a figure resembling Fukamachi Fumio near the three main streets of the old town. He is the father of the Capu No. 1 armored user."

"Oh? Finally, some good news." Geo was energized by the rare good news after many days.

He turned around, his gaze sweeping over the two men standing in the corner, and ordered in a deep voice, "Jagichi Makijima, you lead the operation. Take Insem One and two squads of Zoanoid soldiers and set off immediately to the Old Town to drag that nest of rats out!"

"Yes!" Makijima Agito nodded slightly.

The man known as "Insem No. 1" is none other than Genzo Makishima, the former head of the Japanese branch who was punitively transformed into an experimental subject.

He bowed, looking dejected, and silently accepted the order and left.

After the two turned and left, a cunning smile appeared on Geo's lips. He began to issue commands to the other person through a wave of thought:

"You are the only person I can completely trust now. Listen, you will immediately lead the 'Damaged Seed Experiment' unit, along with six additional squads of beastmen, and secretly follow behind them as they set off."

"If there really is a traitor within the ranks, that damned yellow-haired Captain must be involved in this operation..."

He paused, a ferocious glint in his eyes. "When the time comes, you know what to do—no holding back, just kill them all and bring me back the control metal!"

"Yes, Lord Geo! I will not fail again this time."

At the entrance of the headquarters building, Makijima Agito led the convoy and quietly set off.

Before setting off, he found a moment to send out a thought wave through his short-term implant, containing only a brief message: "Fukamachi Fumio has been discovered. I am ordered to lead a team to pursue him immediately."

The information that came to his mind was simple and clear, but when he looked at the troop deployment of the departing convoy, Tsubasa Kamino's brows suddenly furrowed.

Through his personal experience and practice over this period of time, he became extremely familiar with Kronos's troop deployment methods.

The team led by Makijima consisted of only a dozen or so beastmen. With such a small force, it would be difficult to even hunt down an opponent of the level of Kepp, let alone knowing that he was a variable present.

This is hardly a mission to capture KEP-1; it's clearly a trap aimed at him, Tsubasa Kamino.

And Makijima Agito, that cunning little fox, couldn't possibly have been unaware of this anomaly.

Kanna Tsubasa sneered inwardly. This guy clearly wanted him to fall into the trap, preferably to suffer a disastrous fall, so that he would never have the chance to use his dirty secrets to report him.

Therefore, Makijima naturally wouldn't say a word of advice.

"It seems that dealing with this guy really requires extreme caution."

Having figured this out, Tsubasa Kamino abandoned his plan to join the team and only replied to Makijima's telepathic message: "Before you begin the capture, be sure to remind Captain 1 to be careful."

He then returned to the apartment window and quietly stared at the underground parking garage below.

Sure enough, less than fifteen minutes later, a low, suppressed engine roar sounded, and another convoy slowly drove out of the garage.

This convoy was much larger than the lead convoy, and all the vehicles had abandoned Kronos's signature armored personnel carriers, replacing them with inconspicuous black minivans, clearly in order to conceal their tracks as much as possible.

Nine commercial vehicles drove in sequence, following the direction the group from Juan Island had left.

"The mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind..."

Kamino Tsubasa chuckled softly, instantly understanding. It seemed that his recent actions had indeed pushed Richard Geo to the limit, causing this guy who always believed in the supremacy of strength to start resorting to such underhanded tactics.

"Unfortunately, as a Chinese person..."

He watched the taillights of the departing convoy below. "I'm the one who grew up reading 'The Thirty-Six Stratagems.' Today, I'll see who's the one who's hiding in the end, unaware of the danger."

"Kep, transform!"

He slowly stood up, and in an instant, dark yellow armor covered his entire body.

With the gravity control ball at his waist activated, Tsubasa Kanno's figure rose into the sky as lightly as a feather, becoming an inconspicuous black dot in the sky, silently chasing after the convoy that wanted to be the "stalker."

High in the air, he looked down and the trajectory of the convoy gradually became clear—it led towards the old town.

More than an hour later, Makijima Jawman's convoy stopped, and the beastmen got out of the vehicles and began searching under the guidance of an informant. It seemed they had arrived at their destination.

The convoy of commercial vehicles behind them quietly turned into the nearby park parking lot and lay in ambush.

The car door opened, and several men in black filed out. The eye sensors on the Capu 2's armor instantly focused, magnifying the figures below.

The leader was a striking bald man with a burly build and shoulders that were almost twice the width of an average person.

Tsubasa Kamino recognized him at a glance—it was Geo's beloved general, the Super Beast Soldier Jelbupus.

The man standing next to him had a rugged face with sharp, angular features like Arnold Schwarzenegger, and his left cheek was covered with hideous burn scars from his brow bone to his jaw.

That was Upton, the captain of the Kronos "Damaged Seed Experiment" unit.
