Guyver Armor: KAP-2

Chapter 45 Encirclement, Relentless Pursuit

After driving for ten minutes along the winding mountain road, Tsubasa Kamino gripped the steering wheel, his eyes occasionally glancing at the rearview mirror.

Finally, after confirming that no one was following him, he turned the car into an abandoned logging camp near a nearby town. Only a few dilapidated wooden houses stood forlornly in the logging camp, and the ground was covered with overgrown weeds and broken branches.

The two vehicles, one after the other, slowly drove into the abandoned warehouse behind the logging camp. Tsubasa Kamino jumped out of the car and pulled the rusty iron door of the warehouse as tight as possible, barely enough to cover the vehicle.

Without delay, the two jumped out of the car and walked back to the mountain road along the path behind the warehouse.

As he walked back through the mountains and forests, Murakami Seiki's brows furrowed slightly, and an invisible wave of longing spread out like a spider web, probing the surrounding movements.

"We'll go to the left," he suddenly said, deliberately lowering his voice. "On the back of the hill on the right, there's a ten-man squad of beastmen. The squad is quite diverse, including some similar to Kureg, some like Vimoya, and several other signal types we've never seen before."

Without hesitation, Kamino Tsubasa slowed his pace and turned with him. But the next second, Murakami's body stiffened abruptly, as if struck by an invisible hammer, his face turning deathly pale: "Oh no!"

"What's wrong?" Kamino Tsubasa immediately stopped in his tracks, alert.

"There's an even stronger wave of longing..." Murakami's forehead was covered in cold sweat, and his breathing became somewhat rapid.

"It's attached itself to the consciousness of several other beastmen. My thought wave reached out and was immediately detected! We've been exposed!"

Before the words were even finished, a sharp, piercing pain suddenly exploded from the depths of my mind.

Murakami couldn't help but groan, clutching his forehead tightly with both hands, his body involuntarily collapsing to his knees: "He's tracking me in reverse... Ugh—!"

"How can there be such a powerful wave of thought... Run! Tsubasa Kamino, run!"

"Kep, transform!"

Without the slightest hesitation, Tsubasa Kamino let out a low roar, and the dark yellow KAP-2 armor instantly covered his entire body.

He bent down and hoisted Murakami onto his shoulder, but his heart sank to the bottom—he had been careless.

Judging from Murakami's pained appearance, he must have run into that deadly thing—the Thought Wave Amplifier placed on the top floor of the Mina-gami Mountain Ruins Base!

That enormous metal device can greatly amplify the Beast God General's mental abilities, magnifying the intensity and range of the emitted thought waves by hundreds of times.

If it were used by Hamil Bakas, the most skilled of the Beast Gods in manipulating thought waves, the influence could easily cover the entirety of Japan.

At this moment, the one who was stationed at the ruins base and using the thought wave amplifier to conduct the search was none other than Hamil Bakas himself, who had rushed to Japan overnight!

In the control room on the top floor of the ruins base, Bakas suddenly looked up from the console, his face filled with disbelief and shock.

"This thought wave reaction... is it the Beast God General? No, although it's very similar, it's too weak... Could it be a prototype of the Beast God General?"

"But how is that possible!" he muttered to himself. "Weren't all the prototypes thrown into the disposal tank and destroyed back then? How could any of them have escaped and survived until now... Could it be from five years ago...?"

Thinking this, he immediately used his telepathic wave to issue the order: "All nearby beastmen, listen up! Proceed to the coordinates area immediately to intercept!"

"Target—Kep, the armored operator, and the man traveling with him! Kill them on sight!"

In the mountains and forests, the KEP-2 truck carrying the trees requisitioned by the villagers quickly shuttled through the forest.

"Although I am only a prototype, my physical structure is not much different from that of the Beast God General... Although the opponent's thought waves are strong, they cannot control me..."

Murakami barely managed to stay conscious amidst the excruciating pain; he gritted his teeth, his voice growing weaker and weaker:

"But from now on... I can't use any more power... otherwise... I'll be completely locked onto by the opponent's wave of thought..."

"Don't speak yet!" Kamino Tsubasa tightened her arms, steadily supporting Murakami's body. The dark yellow Kapp armor swept through the forest, creating a gust of wind. "Conserve your energy, I'll take you back!"

Before they could finish speaking, a gray shadow suddenly darted out from the treetops above them—it was the beast-like soldier, Swift, specially designed for mountain warfare!

Its beak-like mouth protrudes forward, and its slender arms grip the tree trunk tightly with sharp claws. It moves nimbly among the branches and leaves like an ape, and in an instant, it is close to you.

Using the momentum of its swing, it suddenly lunged at the top of the KEP-2 with its sharp claws outstretched.

With a slight lift of his head, the beam generator on his forehead instantly lit up, and two crimson beams shot out. Before the Swift could even adjust its posture, the beam pierced through its chest, and it fell from the sky with a scream.

A leaf rustled ahead, and the head sensor of the KEP-2 instantly detected the movement—another Swift was swinging rapidly down the branch!

Just as he was about to turn to the left and avoid the mountain path, a rapid flapping of wings came from the dense forest to his side, and two insect-like Rajel pounced out like arrows!

They are dark green all over, with a slender body like a locust. Their degenerated elytra flap rapidly, generating astonishing speed with this propulsion.

With a whooshing sound, its two sharp forelimbs reached straight for Murakami behind Kamino Tsubasa.

"Get out of here!"

With a low growl, Kamino Tsubasa drew his high-frequency sword from its sheath with a hum as he bent his arm, the azure light of the sword tracing a semicircle.

In the instant he spun around to dodge, he precisely severed their attacking forelimbs with a swift and powerful kasaya-slash.

The two beastmen screamed and lost their balance, crashing into the thick tree trunks on either side.

Before they could even struggle, two more swords pierced their chests, and they collapsed to the ground.

Before they could even catch their breath, heavy footsteps echoed from all directions, accompanied by the low growls of the beastmen. The number of enemies was still increasing!

"This won't work... There are too many of them; the two of us simply can't escape together!"

Kamino Tsubasa's gaze swept across the area quickly, and he suddenly spotted an inconspicuous little cave at the foot of the mountain wall.

He rushed to the cave entrance in a few leaps, carefully placed Murakami inside, and then pulled over layers of vines to cover the entrance completely.

"Stay here and don't make a sound!" Kamino Tsubasa's voice was very low, but it was filled with unwavering determination.

"I'll distract them. Once you've recovered, don't worry about me. Go back to base first!"

Without waiting for Murakami Seiki's reply, he turned and rushed back into the forest, his high-frequency sword slashing down, splitting the charging Ramochus in two.

But the next second, more beast-like soldiers slowly emerged from the shadows of the forest.

Under the command of Hamil Bakas's invisible waves of thought, they slowly pressed in from three directions, forming an encirclement.

The KEP-2 is completely surrounded!
