Guyver Armor: KAP-2

Chapter 67 Despicable, A Reunion Against One's Will

The figures of one person and one armored soldier drew a faint golden trail in the air before disappearing into the distance.

Behind them, the ripples of spatial distortion that had just occurred gradually faded, subsided, and finally disappeared completely.

The mountain path has been restored to its original state.

Far above the base, Tsubasa Kamino suddenly felt a jolt of electricity in his mind. The faint but continuous connection between him and the mimic suddenly broke without warning.

His steps faltered abruptly, his brow furrowing: "The mimic's signal... has disappeared."

Upon hearing this, Akira Fukamachi slowed her pace. "Was it destroyed during the battle with Geo and the Beast Soldiers?"

"It doesn't seem like it." Tsubasa Kamino slowly shook his head, his tone tinged with uncertainty: "I had already set a self-destruct program for it at the last moment, but just now there was no sign of it being triggered at all. It's more like... it was completely isolated and erased by some unknown force."

Before the words were finished, the echo of the beastmen's roar came from the depths of the passage behind them, and the heavy footsteps grew closer and closer, with the following beastmen squad already approaching.

Without further thought, Kamino Tsubasa steadily supported the metal exploration backpack on his back: "There's no time to delve deeper. Let's get the vaccine back first and evacuate as quickly as possible!"

The two Captains charged forward side by side, and with the powerful combat capabilities of their Bio-engineered armor, they broke through several waves of intercepting Zoan soldiers and retreated back to the middle passage corridor.

But as soon as they turned the corner of the corridor, two figures, one in blue and one in green, stopped abruptly, their joints seemingly stiffening.

Blocking their way were neither the elite patrol squad of beastmen nor Geo's personal guard, but dozens of familiar yet unfamiliar figures.

The residents of that quiet and peaceful town—Shiromachi!

Among a dozen or so people, including the elderly, women, children, young adults, and middle-aged people, they immediately recognized the restaurant owner, the farm machinery shop owner, and the general store owner on the town's main street.

Those once warm faces that smiled and offered them tea, meals, and supplies are now just numb and blank, with an eerie crimson surging in their eyes.

Their bodies were stiff like puppets, huddled together, blocking the entire passage and cutting off the way back for Shinno Tsubasa and the others.

Standing at the very front of the crowd was none other than the town's deputy mayor, who had gifted them the van, and also Aoi's father—Tsukishima Masashi!

Clearly, these innocent people had already been forcibly captured and transformed into beastmen by Chronos, becoming puppets to be manipulated at will!

The high-frequency sword on KAP-1's elbow instinctively retracted into its armor, the pale blue eye sensors flickered erratically, and its voice was filled with shock and disbelief:

"Mr. Kanno... these... these are all... people from Shiramachi Town? They are all innocent!"

"Chronos...that damned Chronos turned them into this!"

Kamino Tsubasa's heart sank to the bottom. He never expected that such a brief and unintentional encounter would bring such a devastating disaster to these simple and honest residents.

"Knos!!" He gritted his teeth and squeezed out the three words one by one, almost bleeding from between his teeth.

Tsubasa Kamino finally realized that even though he knew from the plot that this organization was ruthless, his subconscious from the peaceful future made him underestimate the bottomless cruelty of this dark organization.

"Damn it... but now that we've been turned into this, there's no going back! We can't just stay here like this; there are so many people at the bottom waiting for our return."

Kanna Tsubasa closed her eyes, forcibly suppressing the turmoil in her heart, her voice hoarse, "If it really doesn't work, then we'll have no choice but to force it..."

Driven by the expectations of many, he forced himself to make the decision to take action.

"Hahaha! Feeling tricky, Kep?"

Hamil Bakas, watching this scene through the Wave of Thought, let out a smug, hoarse laugh: "Watch me add fuel to the fire!"

He abruptly pressed the communication button, and his malicious whisper came through the loudspeakers in the middle corridor:

"Keppa, nice to meet you. I am Hamil Bakas, one of the Twelve Divine Generals."

I didn't expect you to have trouble handling such a small situation.

Hehehehe, let me tell you one more thing then—

"In the monitoring room here, there's a special spectator watching your every move."

Bakas turned to look at the petite figure beside him, trembling and wearing two small braids, and deliberately drew out his words:

"If I remember correctly, this child's name should be—'Tsukishima Aoi'!"

"What? It's...it's Kui!!"

In an instant, the image of that cute girl with smiling eyes, walking a small dog, flashed into Akira Fukamachi's mind.

His emotions nearly collapsed in an instant, his voice trembling with sobs: "Kronos! Bakas! You are so despicable, so cruel..."

Are we really expected to personally confront our daughter's father in front of her...? Professor Jinno, I... I can't do that!

That was a living, breathing human being, someone who had helped them, and Xiao Kui's only family member!

Just imagining what might happen made the young man, who had just come of age, feel suffocated.

He couldn't help but think, what if they hadn't passed through that small town that day...

Meanwhile, Kamino Tsubasa was instantly overwhelmed by a deep sense of powerlessness, and the orange light blade on his elbow dimmed.

If he could have gritted his teeth and made a move just now, to let them kill her father right before her eyes—

This kind of thing also far exceeds his moral bottom line.

The two sides remained frozen at opposite ends of the corridor, red warning lights flashing alternately on each other, the air thick with a suffocating stillness.

Seeing the two Kepp figures on the monitor screen, caught in a dilemma and looking helpless, Bakas's eyes flashed with a smug look, and he decided to take the initiative again.

He suddenly opened his eyes wide, and a powerful wave of longing, like a tidal wave, instantly enveloped the entire middle passage:

"Awaken, my loyal soldiers!"

"Aaaaaah—Roar!!"

The mournful roars rose and fell, and the bodies of the residents began to swell wildly, their thin clothes instantly stretched into shreds that fluttered and scattered in the air.

Within seconds, the ordinary human figures vanished completely, replaced by a group of burly figures covered in thick white fur, revealing sharp teeth and claws, and with four ferocious insect-like appendages extending from their backs—

These innocent civilians, forcibly abducted and forced into labor, now had no rational light in their eyes, only bloodthirsty instincts.

Insem II Modified, all members make their appearance!
