Guyver Armor: KAP-2
Chapter 7 Leveraging Opportunities, Finally Obtaining the Unit
The night was as dark as ink, and a cold wind blew through the woods, rustling the withered leaves.
Under the moonlight, the newly formed Qianger armored warrior, Cap-1, and the Chronos soldiers formed an eerie standoff, their bluish-green armor gleaming with a cold arc of light in the dim moonlight.
This is by no means a deliberate attempt by the KAP1 to show off.
Hidden behind a tree, Tsubasa Kanno knew all too well that the host inside the Cap 1, Akira Fukamachi, had already lost consciousness during the implantation process.
The built-in automatic protection program in the core control device of the Bio-engineered Armor is taking over this body. It is a cold mechanism set up by the former Descendants to protect themselves: it activates automatically after the host loses consciousness, with the host's safety as the only priority, and ruthlessly judges and eliminates all targets on the scene that may endanger the host.
This was precisely the last chance to break the deadlock that Tsubasa Kamino had been desperately waiting for.
He slowly reached out and took out a specially made high-powered flashlight with a maximum power of 20 lumens from his backpack. The heavy metal tube felt cool in his palm.
This is the highest wattage flashlight that can be bought in the short term. Tsubasa Kamino took a deep breath, locked his gaze on the soldiers' vision behind their masks, and slammed his thumb down on the switch!
"Whoosh—!"
A blinding white light suddenly erupted, like a miniature sun rising abruptly, instantly tearing through the night.
Caught off guard, the Kronos soldiers on the opposite side were blinded by the glare reflected from their masks. Their retinas were burned by the intense light, and they groaned in pain. They instinctively raised their hands to shield their eyes, but the temporary blindness was unavoidable.
"The enemy on the other side has launched an attack! Don't hesitate, everyone transform!" The leader, Craig, faced the intense light and gave the order in a stern voice. His powerful regenerative abilities slowly restored some of his blurred vision.
The well-trained soldiers behind them immediately activated their beast transformations. The sounds of muscles tearing through clothing and bones cracking filled the air as their once upright humanoid forms rapidly twisted and swelled.
The worst-case scenario has occurred: the soldiers sent by Kronos are indeed beast-like soldiers capable of transformation, their enormous and ferocious beast forms clearly visible in the intense white light.
Apart from the leader, Creg, the soldiers at the back transformed into forms covered in long hair, with well-developed pectoral muscles and arms like gorillas, and huge bat-like ears on the sides of their heads.
It's Ramoch! Tsubasa Kamino recognized it instantly. This was an early, well-developed, and practical model of the Kronos organization. Although it was not as powerful as Creg, it was simple to manufacture and had balanced performance. It was the most numerous type of beast soldier.
Just as the soldiers completed their transformation, the KAP-1, which had been standing quietly in place, suddenly started up.
Without any unnecessary movements or hesitation, the automatic protection program propelled the armor into a blur of cyan. He slightly bent over, his right leg raised high, like a nimble whip, lashing out fiercely at the leader, Kureg.
With a loud "bang," the tough scales were easily torn apart, and the strong figure screamed as it flew backward, crashing heavily into the tree trunk.
"Captain! Damn it, how can such a small body have such strength?" Upon seeing this, the other beast-like soldiers immediately roared and pounced on Kep-1.
A beastman swung his clawed arm, aiming for the head of the Captain 1 with a whooshing sound, but he nimbly dodged it by sidestepping. At the same time, the armor on his right elbow instantly deformed, extending out a dazzling red afterimage, as if it were an energy blade that was constantly vibrating.
That's the signature weapon of the Qiangbo Armor—the "High-Frequency Sword".
With a sudden elbow strike, Cape No. 1 severed the arm of a Ramochus, sending bright red blood spurting out.
Before it could even roar in pain, the high-frequency sword once again drew a sharp arc, and the huge beast-like head suddenly fell off, with a huge amount of blood gushing out like a fountain, turning the ground into a stinking mud pit.
With Ramoch's death, the Zoan soldiers' plight became increasingly apparent. The automated, program-controlled Cap-1 showed no mercy, each attack precise and ruthless, each strike aimed at vital points.
With a powerful kick, he broke the beastman's knee; with a backhand elbow strike, he shattered its ribs; with a gripping grip, he tore off its arm; and with a high-frequency sword, he pierced its heart. His movements were fluid and graceful, like a pre-programmed sequence, yet they carried a terrifying destructive power that chilled the monsters to the bone.
Tetsuro and Mizuki, standing by the pool, were completely stunned, their mouths agape, forgetting to breathe. They had never witnessed such a bloody and cruel scene of slaughter.
Limbs severed, waist-cut, decapitated—green-clad humanoid figures flashed and weaved among the towering beastmen, as if performing an elegant dance. Each step was accompanied by the fall of a beastman, with dark green and bright red blood spurting out intermittently, staining the muddy ground a horrifying color.
"Where did this monster come from...?"
In the battlefield of the forest, the only Kronos soldier present who had not yet transformed clutched the black package in his arms with one hand and rubbed his eyes, which were numb from the intense light, with the other.
The devastating force of the KEP-1 sent a chill down his spine. He dared not linger for a moment, and with his body hunched over, he retreated swiftly towards the road he had come from, using the bushes as cover.
"No, we must retreat. Minister Makijima has given a death order. Even if it costs us our lives, we must bring this back!"
The mountain road was rugged, and the gravel crunched under the soles of our boots. The outline of a truck was faintly visible in the distance, which was the evacuation point reserved by the team.
Just as he was about to arrive, a blinding white light suddenly shot out from his left front, hitting him precisely in the eyes.
"Ouch!" the soldier cried out in pain, instinctively loosening his grip on the pack.
"We succeeded!"
From the shadows, Tsubasa Kamino leaped up like a cheetah, his black combat suit blending seamlessly into the night. He had already taken advantage of the cover provided by the killing spree of the KEP-1 to lie in ambush here.
Taking advantage of the moment when the soldier's view was obstructed, Kamino Tsubasa grabbed the handle of the package, scooped it up firmly in his hand, and turned to run wildly toward the cliff. The wind ruffled his hair, revealing the determination in his eyes.
"Damn it, Unit G! That darn bug!" The furious roar made the air vibrate. "You think I'd fall for the same trick twice?"
The last soldier, eyes closed, bones crackling like firecrackers, muscles bulging as if inflated, horns slowly protruding—another Craig. Having swiftly transformed, Craig strode forward, leaving a trail of foul wind, rapidly chasing after Kanna's retreating figure.
"Damn it, such a huge body, yet it runs so fast!" The speed of the creature behind him increased, and the heavy footsteps approached like drums, the stench of blood already reaching the back of his neck.
Kanna felt a chill on the back of her neck and instinctively rolled to the side, barely avoiding a fatal claw. However, her back was still ripped open by Craig's claws, leaving a deep, bone-revealing wound. Warm blood instantly soaked through her combat uniform, sticking stickily to her skin.
He gritted his teeth and groaned, but his speed did not decrease at all; he hugged her even tighter in his arms.
Fortunately, he had been given an adrenaline injection before being caught, and the surging hormones suppressed his instinct for pain; otherwise, the day would have ended there.
Kanna knew that she wouldn't be able to hold on for long due to her injuries. "Given the current situation, it's too late to get to the zipline. I have no choice but to take a gamble."
A resolute glint flashed in his eyes. With his left hand, he unzipped the package and took out the "Unit G," which was gleaming with a ghostly light.
