Guyver Armor: KAP-2

Chapter 78 Escape, the Two Parties Forming an Alliance

Jekutor braced his legs firmly against the ground, his membranous wings flapping wildly, trying to squeeze out a last bit of energy.

Without the replenishment of solar radiation, the momentum of the Golden Storm Melody is rapidly waning.

Thanks to the energy replenishment from the previous bio-infected organisms, the particle cannon output of KEP-1 showed no signs of weakening.

After a few seconds of stalemate, the blue-white particle beam forcefully overwhelmed the golden heat line, advancing relentlessly with absolute dominance!

"Aaaaaah—! I'm not reconciled!"

Jekutor's roar was completely swallowed up by the roar of energy.

Faced with the surging high-energy beam, Jekutor could only let out a desperate roar, crossing his arms to protect his head.

The giant membranous wings that had spread out on its back retracted instantly, the heavy carapace snapped shut, and its body spun sharply to the side—

Using the armor's combination of strength and flexibility, he managed to deflect some of the impact of the particle beams, but he was still violently thrown away by the surging energy wave, crashing into the metal wall behind him like a kite with a broken string!

"Boss Jetton! Ugh—"

Gasda was already critically injured, with half of his body a bloody mess. He was powerless to resist the devastating aftershocks of the energy and was instantly engulfed by the pillar of light.

After a short, muffled thud, his figure disappeared into the bright light.

Moments later, before the smoke had completely dissipated, the acrid smell of burning and the pungent odor of molten metal still lingered in the air.

Tiny sparks were still faintly visible at the edge of the deep black hole blasted out by particle energy on the wall.

Jekutor's enormous figure had long since vanished, leaving only a severed arm covered in dark armor twitching slightly on the ground, its shell riddled with charred cracks.

Not far away, Gasda's two remaining lower legs were firmly embedded in the ground, the flesh at the cuts already charred and blackened by the aftershocks of the energy, having lost all vitality.

"Such a sturdy shell and amazing survival instincts—that's how Jektor survived..."

Tsubasa Kamino retracted the light blue protective shield, his brows furrowed as he strode forward.

He leaned out of the dark cave entrance, and the night vision function of the KAP armor instantly activated, clearly revealing the scene deep inside the cave—

There was a small, irregular hole, its edges still covered with fresh soil and metal fragments, clearly indicating that it had just been dug up.

Clearly, Jekutor had taken advantage of the chaos from the energy explosion to escape through the black hole in the wall.

"That guy escaped using his amazing digging skills..."

Recalling Jektor's earth-burrowing escape technique from the original work, Tsubasa Kanno's whisper carried a hint of understanding.

Just then, a strange sound of bones twisting and muscles writhing came from behind.

On the other side, Upton had completely completed his fusion and predation of Lazelb's body.

He slowly straightened up, and his originally green body was now interwoven with the gray-brown rhinoceros-hide-like armor patterns of Lazerb. A huge horn-shaped protrusion slowly emerged from the top of his head, and his body and limbs gradually became thicker.

He cracked his neck a few times, his gaze sweeping over the mangled limbs on the ground, and his eyes instantly lit up.

He turned to look at the two Kepps, subconsciously rubbing his hands together, a hoarse laugh escaping his throat:

"Hehe, I thought I was going to miss out on such a great nutritional supplement. Gentlemen, would you mind if I had some 'dessert' after the meal?"

As he spoke, he quickly stepped forward to pick up the two remains of the super-beast soldiers from the ground.

This super-beast-like biological tissue, brimming with the highest quality genetic material, is the best evolutionary nourishment for him at this moment.

"Wait a minute, Upton!"

Suddenly, Tsubasa Kamino's voice rang out. He flashed and instantly stood between Upton and the severed limbs.

The blue armor of KAP-2 glowed faintly in the dimly lit corridor, its tone tinged with a hint of sarcasm:

"I'm telling you, you're being too impolite. This is our shared spoils; it's not fair for one person to keep it all to themselves."

"Hey, Kapp!"

Upton abruptly stopped, his pupils narrowed slightly, and he grumbled in a dissatisfied tone:

"We were just fighting side by side a moment ago, and you've turned on me way too quickly! Besides, what use are these bio-organisms to your Kep? It's a complete waste!"

"Who says it's useless?"

Kamino Tsubasa raised an eyebrow and retorted seriously:

"We can use it for research to figure out the genetic weaknesses of the super-beast soldiers."

He had long since figured out Upton's personality, and his words carried a hint of teasing:

"Besides, you've already gotten the biggest benefit—you've absorbed Razorb's entire body."

There are three people present, so it's fair that each person gets one, right?

"You..." Upton was speechless, and was about to argue back, his face turning red.

Suddenly, Tsubasa Kamino's joking expression vanished, replaced by a serious one:

"No more joking around. The remains on the ground are another matter. But, Upton, I have to ask you one last time, have you thought through the question from last time?"

"Ah, blue guy, speaking of that..." Upton's previously aggressive demeanor instantly weakened.

He scratched the rhinoceros horn on his head awkwardly, deliberately turning his face to the other side of the corridor to avoid Shinno Tsubasa's gaze, and said vaguely:

"That thing you mentioned last time... well, if you specifically invite me, I might consider it."

You mean 'companion', right?

Seeing his awkward expression, Kamino Tsubasa couldn't help but chuckle, and gently but clearly corrected him:

"First of all, my name is Tsubasa Kamino, not some so-called 'blue guy'."

Secondly, as I've already made myself clear last time, as long as you can understand this issue, we welcome you to join us anytime.

"Hey, Wh...what companion!"

Upton, as if his tail had been stepped on, hurriedly defended himself, his voice suddenly rising several decibels:

"We're just temporarily banding together to help each other because we share the same enemy. Don't flatter yourselves!"

He stiffened his now-thick neck and arrogantly emphasized:

"You need to understand, I am the ultimate combat creature, and I don't need any weaklings to..."

As he said this, he subconsciously glanced at the light green KEP-1 beside him.

He paused for a moment before reluctantly uttering the second half of the sentence: "...to be a companion or something."

But when he uttered the word "comrade," his tone involuntarily lowered, revealing a subtle sadness...

"Companions, Som, Tam..."

"Yes, yes, no problem. But... we need to have some kind of title for our relationship."

Kanna Tsubasa nodded in agreement, not calling out his insincerity:

"How about... we call it 'Allies'?"
