As the first rays of sunlight streamed in at dawn, Li Qi opened his eyes; they were somewhat dazzling and scorching.

The pillow was empty, and the old-fashioned alarm clock on the bedside table had its hour hand pointing to the number "seven".

Invisible dust mites drifted and danced in the sunlight. The room was quiet, the door was open, and Julie had gotten up sometime earlier.

Li Qi got dressed and went downstairs, only to find Julie sitting at the dining table, fiddling with her laptop, her brows furrowed and her eyes fixed on it.

Compared to yesterday, the beautiful woman was noticeably more alluring, clearly thanks in no small part to her charm.

"I made breakfast, have a bite." Noticing Li Qi, Julie continued operating the keyboard and mouse, her eyes still fixed on him, appearing extremely focused.

European and American breakfasts are all the same. Li Qi took a slice of bread and ate it. He came up behind Julie, hugged her from behind, and kissed and rubbed her.

"What are you looking at?"

Julie hooked her arm around Li Qi's neck affectionately, then continued looking at the screen, saying, "The dark web... I'm looking for the video material about Nick you mentioned, but there are too many related videos, I can't find it at all."

Li Qi knew perfectly well that she wasn't doing these things for herself.

The astute policewoman discovered the supply chain that Nick represented from Li Qi's words last night.

Putting everything together, the level of attack Lola encountered clearly demonstrates the size of the network behind it all.

She clearly wanted to target this net.

"I have Nick's hard drive. Find a computer expert to take a look and find Nick's dark web account, then things will be much easier." Now that things had come to this point, Li Qi didn't hold back and directly told Julie the truth.

Julie's eyes lit up as she turned around, kissed Li Qi, and said, "That's great! Can I have the hard drive today?"

Li Qi shrugged: "We'll see. If nothing unexpected happens, I'll deliver it to you this morning."

"You're amazing, darling! Thank you!" Julie's joy came from the bottom of her heart.

Li Qi couldn't help himself again.

"Okay, baby, don't do this... I have to go to work... wait until tonight..." Julie was clearly on the verge of a breakdown, trying to resist while also offering her affection.

"We'll talk about tonight! You're so busy, who knows if you'll have to work overtime?" Li Qi picked her up and placed her on the heavy, sturdy marble table, where they ate a fast food meal.

"I've been so busy these past few days that I'm really unsure whether I'll be working overtime tonight..." Julie said helplessly as she got dressed. "These past few days, there have been more than ten murders in the main urban area's 'Crippled Gang.' It seems like there's a killer targeting them indiscriminately, killing them one by one."

After getting dressed, Julie transformed into a dashing senior police officer. She fastened her service pistol, tidied herself up, and prepared to leave: "I just saw it. Someone posted a kill order on the dark web. Ten bitcoins for this assassin's life. If you hadn't been with Lola or me these past few days, I would have suspected you were the assassin."

"Ten Bitcoins? Are you crazy?" Li Qi came out of the bathroom, about to get dressed, and couldn't help but wonder, "Why do you suspect I did it?"

"The assassin's methods were too sophisticated. He left no information, yet everyone said he drove a red Chevrolet Impala and used an 8-inch Python revolver. This is very similar to what you said."

"In what ways are we similar?" Li Qi feigned ignorance.

Julie rolled her eyes at him and voiced her speculation: "After you became homeless, you unexpectedly solved your drug addiction problem with a pharmaceutical company's test drug, then spent the last few years hiding your identity and living on the streets. Once you recovered your health, you finally couldn't hold back anymore, killed Ricardo, and took his 8-inch revolver, right?"

Li Qi smiled noncommittally, shrugged to suppress the turmoil in his heart, and pretended to be calm as he waited for her to continue.

"Then you robbed a veterinarian, stole his Chevrolet Impala, and used the car and your superb disguise skills to follow Nick Grant to his secret hideout to gather evidence to blackmail him. Unexpectedly, Nick cornered you, and you two had a gunfight. You killed Nick and rescued Lola. Am I right?"

Li Qi was stunned.

He told Julie all that nonsense about recovering from taking the test drug, but he only mentioned that he had recovered his health and was ready to find a suitable opportunity to return to a normal life. That's when the two of them started to get really into a passionate relationship.

The later part about killing Nick is just that he accidentally discovered Nick's secret, hid in his Dodge pickup truck and went to the Thomson mansion in the Hancock Park neighborhood, and that's when the rest of the story happened.

Li Qi didn't necessarily want to hide what happened from Julie, but before he could tell her, the beautiful woman had already guessed it in just one morning.

Julie was very satisfied with Li Qi's reaction and said smugly, "All these cases are in my hands. I always felt there was a hidden thread behind them, clearly a series of cases, but I just couldn't connect them. As soon as the Lola case came out, I felt the connection. After I saw your file and what you said to me, these clues naturally linked together! How about that, aren't I amazing?"

Li Qi hugged the beautiful policewoman, genuinely admiring and respecting her: "You're more than just amazing! You've truly impressed me!"

Julie reached out and hooked Li Qi's chin, then leaned in and gave him a light kiss: "What are you planning to do next?"

Enjoying her gentleness, Li Qi pretended to be confused: "What? How do I do it?"

Julie rolled her eyes, still beautiful and charming: "This is clearly someone trying to frame you. With your abilities, aren't you prepared to do something about it?"

Li Qi could only tell the truth: "I want to see what's going on. If possible, I want to earn those ten bitcoins."

Julie sighed. "I knew you were this kind of person! Okay, be careful! Call me if you need any help."

Li Qi tentatively asked, "For example?"

Julie stated bluntly: "For example, if you kill someone, you need to clean up the scene."

Li Qi was astonished and asked incredulously, "You're a law enforcement officer, are you sure this is okay?"

Julie gave a cold laugh: "This is a dog-eat-dog world. I can only do my best to protect the weak, but beyond my capabilities, I can only let nature take its course. I'm not a silly girl like Lola who's always trying to uphold the law and justice."

Li Qi was even more impressed and became even more enamored with it.

Julie didn't want to argue any longer, so she pleaded, "No, darling! I'm really going to be late! If you're willing, you can come over again tonight. The key is in the flowerpot by the door. I'll try to get home before ten o'clock to be with you."

Li Qi shook his head: "Let's decide later, I'm very busy!"

Julie rolled her eyes at him: "Yes, I know you have many girlfriends! Don't worry! I won't monopolize you!"

Li Qi didn't explain further. After seeing Julie out, he returned to the house and continued browsing the dark web using Julie's account.

Many people have already signed up for that kill order.

A red Chevrolet Impala, an 8-inch python revolver, and a male – these three factors combined mean certain death.

Ten bitcoins, nearly nine hundred thousand dollars, is a huge temptation, enough to make both the police and gangsters take the risk.

Anyone who isn't a fool wouldn't make a move in this tense situation.

This kill order is utterly useless except for the possibility of harming innocent people.

Li Qi remained silent for a long time before deciding to address the problem at its source.

It's been quite a while since we last met, it's time to visit that veterinarian.
