After leaving Julie's house, Richard got into his Dodge, put on makeup and dressed up to look like Nick again, and returned to his home in the Hancock Park community.

Upon entering, he hugged Sophia, who greeted him. The beautiful woman's injuries had greatly improved; she was no longer in a state of minor injury but had become a "minor illness."

Relieved, Li Qi asked, "Where's Lola?"

Sofia smiled, raised her hand, and pointed upstairs, "They're looking at the hard drive you brought back, the videos on it..."

Seeing that she hesitated to speak, Li Qi smiled and nodded: "Don't worry, I will destroy all the videos after I have collected all the clues."

Sophia breathed a sigh of relief: "I'm not worried about myself, I'm worried about Sophie and Anna..."

Li Qi nodded and hugged her even tighter: "I know, you rest first, I'll go check on Lola."

Upon arriving at the master bedroom on the second floor, Lola sat at the dressing table, fiddling with the hard drives that Li Qi had brought from her home.

On the ground beside her and on the bed behind her, there were piles of crumpled toilet paper.

It's like a mathematician solving a difficult mathematical problem...

Lola was so focused that she didn't hear Li Qi arrive until he reached his hands inside her two-piece nightgown, which startled her.

"Oh my god! You scared me! You bad boy!" Lola pouted and leaned against Li Qi, sniffing the air. "Why doesn't it smell like anything?"

Li Qi shrugged: "Julie doesn't use perfume."

Lola glared at Richard in the mirror before continuing to watch the video.

"Did you gain anything?"

"There are some, look, here's what I've summarized." Lola shook the diary in her hand, which was filled with dense English writing.

Li Qi got a headache from reading it, but he still patiently continued reading.

It was very detailed. It listed which decoration elements appeared in each video, which were unique to the room, and which were unique to the environment. It included police sirens, church bells, children playing, fire truck sirens, birds chirping, and changes in lighting. It covered everything in detail and was written in more than twenty pages.

No wonder there were so many discarded draft papers on the ground. This kind of summary shows that drafting is indeed necessary, and it's easy to make mistakes.

"Didn't the bureau call you to work?"

Lola shook her head: "Theoretically, I'm still on paid leave. I was attacked, not the one who killed me. It's normal for me to hide a little right now, right? I spoke with Maeve on the phone this morning. She told me not to show my face until she confirms who wants to kill me."

Li Qi asked curiously, "With ICE making such a splash right now, it shouldn't be hard to find out who wants to kill you, right?"

Laura sighed. "Things in Minnesota are getting worse. There are more and more violent attacks against ICE agents. I'm worried that it will be difficult to find out who is targeting me..."

Li Qi couldn't offer her much comfort, so he simply said, "Then you can stay here and hide. Relatively speaking, this place is quite safe. You can use this time to analyze this place on the hard drive. If there's anything you don't understand, just ask Sophia and the others."

Lola nodded, understanding the unspoken meaning in Li Qi's words: "What are you going to do?"

Not wanting to worry her, Li Qi casually told a lie: "Julie asked me to bring this system hard drive over so she can arrange for a computer expert to see if they can log into Nick's dark web account."

It's not exactly lying, but it's one of the things he's supposed to do.

After spending some time together, Li Qi went downstairs, gave instructions to Sophia and Nalin, and drove away.

When they encountered Harry on patrol, Richie put on a stern face and maintained the dignity of "William Thomson" as the two cars passed each other.

He drove straight to the LAPD Midtown Precinct. When he arrived at the parking lot, Richard called Julie and asked her to come downstairs to pick up the hard drive.

Julie clearly hadn't expected Li Qi to act so quickly, and apologized over the phone, "Sorry, honey, I had to come to the scene at the last minute... There's been an attack here..."

Julie's answer was vague, and Li Qi didn't intend to ask further. He simply asked, "What about the hard drive? Should I give it to you tonight?"

"Are you coming to my house tonight? If so, then tonight. If not, bring it to me now. I live not far from the police station."

Julie gave him the address, but Li Qi didn't want to go.

Influenced by the original owner's memories, he showed no curiosity whatsoever about the murder scene.

But Julie's words piqued Li Qi's interest.

"Come on, honey! A man driving a red Chevrolet Impala has been shot dead, and an eight-inch Python revolver was found at the scene."

Lee removes Nick's disguise, reverts to his original appearance, and arrives at the crime scene where Julie is.

Six or seven police cars surrounded the crime scene, which was cordoned off with yellow police tape.

Just as Li Qi parked his car on the side of the road, uniformed police officers walked towards the Dodge pickup truck.

"Sir, this is a crime scene. You cannot stay here. Please leave immediately!" The uniformed police officer was polite yet vigilant and authoritative, his hand on his waist, ready to draw his gun at any moment.

Li Qi had already rolled down his car window. He raised his hands and said to the officer, "I'm here to see Officer Julie Grace. I'm her friend..."

In the distance, Julie flicked out her warning ribbons and waved her hand casually in their direction, looking quite dashing.

The officer smiled apologetically and took a step back: "Officer Grace, please come over."

Li Qi sighed inwardly, realizing that no matter the time, having power is always the most useful thing.

This attitude of being arrogant at first and then obsequious makes one think that the American people are so noble, but they're nothing special.

With a grumbling in his heart, Li Qi went to Julie's side.

Julie tossed a tag over to Li Qi, who caught it and expertly put it around his neck without even looking at it.

Julie gave him a deep look, then lifted the yellow warning ribbon and walked inside.

Li Qi followed, and after only a few steps, he smelled blood.

The owner of a red Chevrolet Impala parked on the side of the street was shot in the head and looked gruesome.

On the passenger seat next to the car owner sits an 8-inch Colt Python revolver, engraved with intricate patterns, more like a work of art than a weapon.

Beside the vehicle, a middle-aged man had his feet on the right front wheel of the Chevrolet, his hands on his knees, and his eyes were fixed on the vehicle with curiosity.

"This is Hugo Barnes, my partner," Julie introduced from the center. "William Thomson, my boyfriend."

Hugo forced a smile and shook hands with Li Qi: "It's a pleasure to meet you."

After a few polite words, Julie took the paper package from Li Qi and put it away. She pointed to the Python revolver in the passenger seat: "This is clearly a setup, done for ten Bitcoins..."

Li Qi nodded, offering no comment.

Hugo, who had been observing the overly handsome young man, remarked, "After this incident, I doubt anyone in all of Los Angeles will dare to drive this car on the road."

He didn't quite understand why the usually cautious Julie would break the rules and bring her boyfriend to the murder scene, so he kept observing this "boyfriend" he had never heard of before.

He is handsome enough, but judging by appearance alone, he shouldn't be Julie's type...

Julie moved between the two of them, gave Li Qi a push, and whispered, "What do you think?"

Not quite understanding Hugo's gaze, Li Qi shook his head: "There's nothing to see, it's just that the dark web's kill order has caused quite a stir. Someone is trying to muddy the waters on purpose."

Julie nodded: "Be careful. Get rid of that car as soon as possible, otherwise it'll be a problem sooner or later."

Li Qi was somewhat touched. They had only spent one night together, yet this woman was already so concerned about his safety. Indeed, a night of marriage brings a hundred nights of kindness!

Unexpectedly, Julie said, "This is a great opportunity for you to extricate yourself from that series of murders..."
