Chapter 77 Days and Nights, All for This Moment
Chapter 77 Days and Nights, All for This Moment
Time flows back to the present moment, one day later.
The setting sun blazed like fire, and everyone stared in stunned silence at the snow that was clearly stained red with blood.
Just then, Senis and Paul's expressions suddenly changed. They grabbed shovels and began shoveling snow with all their might. Paul had already exhausted all his fighting spirit and was now almost entirely driven by physical strength.
With each shovelful, the snow in the valley was dug out, revealing patches of scarlet snow to everyone's view.
Everyone stared in disbelief at the scene, their expressions changing simultaneously.
When people see blood, they instinctively associate it with death.
This is why everyone's face was pale just now.
But upon closer reflection...
With blood this thick, how many people must have died?
people?
Is anyone in the valley?
Have.
Only two victims.
How could there be such a large amount of bleeding?
That.
Where does blood come from?
And why is there such a large amount of blood?
So who exactly is dying?!
And who killed him?!
How much longer will it take to come up with the answer?
The next instant, blazing fire erupted in everyone's eyes! They frantically grabbed their shovels and began digging!
Shovel the snow one shovel at a time.
Every shovel shovel splatters blood!
Finally, the blood broke through a hole, and real blood gushed out like a fountain, splattering everyone's faces.
Paul's eyes lit up, and he was about to continue digging when a chain reaction began.
The pressure imbalance caused more black snow to collapse.
Amidst the rumbling sound, the thin layer of snow wall completely collapsed before everyone's eyes.
At this moment.
Although they were clearly in the mountains, everyone present heard the sound of the sea.
It is the tide, it is the waves.
It's a wave of blood!
It swept in from the newly carved-out valley fissure!
In an instant, accompanied by an almost viscous, tangible smell of blood, the waves instantly submerged everyone's knees.
No one paid attention to the ground beneath their feet; their eyes were all fixed on the valley below.
The sunset swept in from the mountain stream, illuminating the blood-red sea within the valley.
A blood-red line floated on the sea surface under the glow of the sunset, extending into the valley and stretching as far as the eye could see.
Countless monster corpses floated on the ocean, rising and falling with the winter winds.
Amidst the sea of corpses, a blood-red figure stood facing everyone, its back to them.
The waves kept lapping against his knees, and ripples spread outwards from his body.
The sunset cast its glow upon the Red Sea, causing the waves to surge and shimmer.
A person's back view.
Shining brightly.
How could an image of death, so real, be so beautiful?
The crowd remained silent, and no one stepped forward.
Even so, the collapsing snow still startled the person.
The person in the sea turned around and looked at everyone.
The glow of the sunset outlined his face, obscuring his features.
But his voice remained as languid as ever, drifting along the waves of the sea of blood to everyone's ears.
The sound was very soft and very distant.
But it was already loud enough!
He said.
"next year."
"There won't be any more monster tides."
Paul stared intently at Allen, a wide, radiant smile spreading across his face.
Senis's shovel plunged into the bloody wave. She stared blankly at the scene, and upon hearing the familiar voice, she smiled at first, but the smile never returned.
She finally covered her face.
Tears seeped through her fingers, dripping down and rippling across her knees.
Lilia patted her shoulder, laughing and crying at the same time.
Rudy, however, stared intently at Allen, muttering something only he could hear.
"We're saved! We're saved, Allen! Sylphy! We're saved!"
"I'm saved."
Roltz looked at Allen's side—Sylphie was floating on a piece of ice that was clearly made of magic, and the glow of the sunset shone on Sylphie's hair, turning it a crimson color.
She smiled and waved to everyone at the valley exit.
"We're fine~ Sorry to have worried everyone! We just defeated the monster not long ago, and we were trying to figure out how to get out when you all showed up~"
Her deliberately lowered volume calmed down all the villagers who were about to cheer. If they shouted, who knows if there wouldn't be a second avalanche?
So everyone fell silent, only jumping around in the sea of blood to express their excitement.
But some people have already started running through the sea of blood!
Rudy! Senis! Paul! Lilia!
One by one, figures waded through the sea of blood and, to Allen's astonishment, pulled him into their arms tightly!
The embraces came one by one, making Allen's thoughts seem to float in the air and then fall from the clouds.
One embrace after another, warm and passionate.
Senis's tears kept falling onto Allen's face.
The latter looked somewhat dazed. He felt his throat was dry, and the words he had prepared to explain the situation were nowhere to be uttered.
At this moment, the most pressing issues that need to be addressed are whether all the monsters have been killed, and whether there will be a monster surge next year.
It seemed like nobody cared.
So what are they concerned about?
The warmth of the embrace has already provided the answer.
The night before, the emotions that had been interrupted by the swarming monsters and failed to take shape stirred up huge waves in Allen's heart from tiny ripples.
As my heart churned, fragments of memories flashed through my mind like a tide.
Paul and Senis's disappointed expressions after their revenge journey;
After Senis became pregnant, she spoke to Rudy carefully, not wanting Allen to feel like an outsider.
After the affair, everyone hugged each other and wept, tears streaming down their faces as they expressed their deepest gratitude.
Birthday night filled with gifts and carefully prepared entertainment;
The tableware set out in the morning, the goodnight wish before leaving the living room.
Too many memories, too many suppressed emotions.
How could anyone possibly count them all?
A startled voice came from beside him, pulling him out of his stagnant thoughts.
His eyes instinctively darted to the side.
Hilfi had already noticed the unusual color of her hair and was stammering an explanation when she realized Allen's gaze was on her the instant he looked at her. She turned to look at Allen from her mother's arms.
The two looked at each other.
The white hair danced in the air, burning like fire in the sunset.
As Allen looked at Hilfi's now-white hair, a jumble of thoughts flashed through his mind, constantly tugging at his heartstrings.
He remained silent for a moment, then quietly withdrew his hands from the embrace of the 'family' in front of him.
Open your arms.
Returning the favor with a warm embrace.
Amid Senis's increasingly unbearable sobs, Allen's voice sounded indistinct.
But Hilfi, who was beside her, heard everything clearly.
This time there were no cunning flattery words, no ulterior motives, and no attempts to gain favor by racking up points.
Just two simple words.
"Thanks."
The sound shattered in the wind, turning into smoke and dust that could not be seen by anyone.
Only after the gaps between hearts are closed can the distance between family members be bridged.
You have become a member of Paul's family.
Increased participation during early childhood.
[Current stage: Early childhood; Cumulative participation score: 100 points; Rewards awarded; Location system activated.]
[Comment: If it's just a chasm that seems insurmountable, then it means you've already stepped onto that path. Why would anyone need to specifically remind you to take that final step?]
[Allen, this is the meaning of time travel.]
This is your own jobless journey!!
[Congratulations, host, you have achieved a perfect score in the early stages of the game.]
The setting sun, like blood, spilled across the red sea.
But Allen couldn't smell a trace of blood.
-
night.
Because they were covered in blood, it took them more than two hours to take a shower and wash up. By the time they had dinner, it was almost 10 p.m.
Paul was drunk.
The only real man who didn't cry today hugged Allen, tears streaming down his face.
Allen was truly dumbfounded.
The most outrageous thing is that this time no one saved him; everyone just watched this scene with smiles on their faces.
Even Rudy looked at Paul with a loving gaze, tinged with a hint of helplessness.
This made Allen's face twitch.
No way!? Who the hell is your father? And who are you to ask for your father's attention?
In the end, Allen finally managed to get rid of Paul's persistent entanglement.
Why? Because Paul was so tired that he collapsed into a puddle of mud in Allen's arms while crying.
And then fell asleep?
What?!
After carrying Princess Paul back to the bedroom, Allen walked down the hallway under the tender gaze of Senis Lilia and returned to his room.
The door closed, and the gentle voices of two people giving instructions could be heard from outside.
"Alan must be tired, go to sleep~"
"You don't need to get up early tomorrow~ Please sleep soundly, I'll save some breakfast for you."
"Okay~"
The footsteps faded into the distance, and Allen emerged from the darkness.
His figure pierced through the darkness and arrived at the desk.
Light the candle.
Open the drawer.
Pull out the crumpled letter paper.
Place it directly over the candle flame.
The writing rose in black smoke, the dense, fly-like characters curling up in the flames and gradually disappearing.
The words "Future Vision" were burned into smoke and dust inch by inch in his pupils, trembling and leaping, and then appeared as a system panel.
What are your thoughts?
Under the candlelight, Allen laughed heartily.
"Screw futurism."
……
It wasn't snowing outside the window.
Because of spring.
It's coming soon!
Tickets, please.
just kidding.
These two chapters were extremely difficult to write; I chose two different writing styles. I wrote four versions.
In terms of rhythm:
One approach is to use the fast-paced, exhilarating, and straightforward style of a "power fantasy" story, directly propelling the narrative to its climax. It's a clean and decisive conclusion.
Another approach is to build up emotions gradually, then stir them up layer by layer, and finally ignite the fire completely through a "choice".
Before 12 o'clock, I chose the former.
After midnight, I changed my mind and decided to return the latter's manuscript as the final version.
Indeed, I personally prefer a gradual progression of emotions.
Writing online novels is so tiring!
